cleithis asked this question on 4/27/2000:
Larrybergen's header speaks of "lies" being spread about Scientology by people on this board. Would you please give a single, well-documented example of such a lie? Since you speak of "lies," plural, one should not be hard to come up with, together with the background material to refute it.
Note--I posted this question directly to Larry, originally, and he refused to answer it. I assume, therefore, that he has no such evidence, and was lying himself. Any others want to take a crack at it?

Hi. Larry will not tell any one what these "lies" are but I will give it a shot.
Lies found on this forum:
The lie that narCONon is effective. It isn't.
The lie that Xenu is not a part of Scientology Scripture. He is.
The lie that the RPF is not a punishment internment camp used to "re-educate" and re-indoctrinate Sea Org members who start to question what they are ordered to believe and to do.
The lie that the GO was merely filled with "suppressive persons" who were out to "make Scientology look bad." Not only does the GO still exist, not only are at least two members of the old GO still active members of the new GO (now called the OSA), but they are still committing criminal acts--- as a matter of church policy!
The lie that criticising criminal behavior is "religipous persecution" and "religious bigotry." If that lie had any validity, law enforcement and the justice system would not exist!
The lie that Hubbard was a "war hero." He was not, and he even wrote in his diary that he was ashamed of his dismal behavior in the Navy.
The lie that Hubbard was a best-selling author. His books are pure crap, and he couldn't even make a pauper;s living when writing. He was always begging the VA for money for his "disabilities."
The lie that "Scientology is for every one" when in fact their own policy states the exact opposite.
The lie that the Church of Scientology supports marriage and the family. It does not. It actively DESTROYS marriages and families by forcing members to split from their spouses and family when their family members object to Scientology.
The lie that Hubbard was NOT a person who enjoyed beating women and terrorizing them.
I could list many more of the lies "experts" such as "spirit" and "larrybergen" have posted here, but the above will do for a start.
