I heard that the church of scientology once tried to break into the IRS. Could you explain this to me?
desertphile gave this response on 4/18/2000:
Nonsense! A church would NEVER do such a thing! And certainly not the most ethical organization on the planet (i.e., Scientology).
And it was not "tried to." They did so. And several hundred other government offices spanning the globe, not just the IRS offices. The FBI, CIA, NSA, dozens of police departments, civil mental health offices, FDA, banks, psychitrists' offices, lawyer's offices. They even broke into and stole documents from the armed services, which got them shut down in Greece. Even the United States Air Force caught on to the crimes, and sent one of THIER secret agents in to Scientology's Guardian Office (Office of Special Affairs) to spy on it! (But he was caught, having talked too much.)
Do an internet search on "Operation Snow White."
