Ref.: Curious Telephone Call
On or about Thursday, October 7, 1999, I received a call from a man who identified himself as Rev. Leonard Jackson of First A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles, California.
After a few minutes of small talk, he asked me if I was aware that you are a member of the Church of Scientology. When I informed him that I am aware of the fact that you were once a member but no longer affiliated, he switched his approach. He, then, told me that it had been suggested that he should call me and encourage me to talk to you in reference to your opposition to the Church of Scientology.
Although the conversation lasted several minutes, (to the best of my recollection) the jist of it was to inform me that the Church of Scientology has done some good things in the Los Angeles area and other areas. And he said, "It has been suggested that if you have the kind of energy and resources to so vehemently oppose the teachings of the Church of Scientology, you might better utilize them in the A.M.E. Church."
Now, this is by no means meant to be my way of responding to the request of this caller: but, rather, to inform you that this call did indeed take place.

I looked up that name... most hits are in connection with scientology.
