HOUSTON: Houston pediatrician has been accused of being indecent with a child and has posted a bond for the same.
Harris county grand jury indicted Robert Joseph Yetman yesterday. The 54 year old is working with UT Health. Since he has been affiliated with Memorial Hermann for more than 30 years, he also has some special privileges for himself at the hospital.
Memorial Hermann’s spokesperson Alex Rodriguez Loessin gave a statement in an interview, on this case. He said that the hospital authorities and staff are deeply concerned by the serious allegations that have been put against Dr. Robert Yetman. He said that as the safety and well-being of their patients are their top priorities, so, they are cooperating with law enforcement authorities as they conduct their investigation.
Since the investigation is still on progress and the legal conclusion of the court case is pending, Dr. Yetman is kept on administrative leave from UT Health. He is not seeing patients at the hospital as of now.
If sources are anything to be believed, they say that the victim was a patient. Both the Houston Police Department and the County District Attorney’s Office have decided to not to speak on the matter for the moment. They will not provide any further detail on the allegations as of now. Yetman had sexual contact with the victim, as per the indictment.
Yetman has not yet commented on the incident despite several requests. He paid $30,000 bond and is thus out of custody at present.
