Yes, you read it right. If you want your money to vanish forever, please feel free to invest in one of the Canyon Acquisitions, LLC dream Caribbean destinations as I had done.
I have been investing my money in exotic destinations real estate for over 10 years. Never had a single problem so far, until I got in touch with these Florida gators! Investing money in countries with a different political system, huge corruption, under the table deals, a high percentage of poverty is never a good idea. But I have always liked the risk and feeling of adrenaline whenever money is on the line.
After some time in researching, I got in touch with a guy named Wayne Robbins, president of Canyon Acquisitions, LLC. Lots and lots of promises during the first phone conversation! Classic stories and fuelled accomplishments of their company, what they are specialized in, references, partners and so on! Since the beginning, I never liked his voice tone, his non-stop bragging about money and fancy cars and other macho stuff. He was ready to talk 5 hours without a pause, and in these 5 hours business talk would be 5 minutes maybe. So after a period of time, I discreetly switched all conversations with him just on email. Couldn’t stand the guy anymore! On email, everything was official; only business.
Why I decided to work with someone in the first place who sounded like an asshole, you may ask! Well, the possibility of making a big profit was on my mind constantly, and the desire to retire someday on one of these exotic destinations, drinking margaritas and earning money from renting. The real American dream, right? Well, not with these guys for sure.
I decided to invest in real estate development projects in the Dominican Republic. Projects included mostly hotels, resorts, bungalows and marina village. A couple of years passed by, and the projects were on ground zero as I was later informed. Still under construction! At the beginning of the construction, this asshole Wayne was giving me updates about everything. The placing of a cornerstone, which constructors were in charge, where they were buying materials, photos of “dream” finished projects, photos of him on building sites and so on. It all turned out to be a fake.
After maybe 7 or 8 months since the beginning of this fake construction, things started to look strange. There were no mails from Wayne, no photos anymore, no updates. He wasn’t answering any of my calls either so I started to wonder what was going on with an ongoing project and of course, how I could get my money back. I managed to get some contact from there, a local lawyer.
When I asked him about the construction sites and locations of the same, he told me that those places are just plain dust, some improvised fence with duct tape, in general – a big nothing. Holy Mary, Mother of God! NOTHING! This word echoed for about the next few months in my head, after my conversation with the Dominican lawyer.
Then everything started to become clear to me. One of Wayne’s sleazy bragging lines was that they were paying money to every investor in a project which was under construction. Now it’s clear that this is bullshit. How is it possible for them to pay from a business which hasn’t even started yet and hasn’t made a single dime?
Money in real estate is made by renting or selling. Neither has been done by Canyon except to steal money away from you. These things at first come unnoticed ‘cos this guy chokes you literally with his “sweet” talk. Ah yes, one more good thing from this bastard was that they donated a huge amount to the Dominican Republic…and nothing was ever built.
Where did this money come from? Canyon predators are using new investors’ money in order to pay the old ones. It’s not a pure pyramid scheme but there are some traces of it. As I mentioned earlier, lots of promises and at the end, they get away with your money or your money ends up in someone else’s pocket. And now all that’s left to be done is to chase my money through the court proceedings ’cos these bastards have been indicted!
Don’t get hooked, my fellow investors! Before signing any document, get your lawyers ready for a thorough check of these contracts. It’s about your money and these predators like Canyon Acquisitions are everywhere around us.
