This is Steve a fool who has been robbed by Skywalkers. I got an email from Skywalker’s on February 15th congratulating me on being appointed as an office assistant. I had applied for a job at Skywalkers Construction limited but I did not get any call for interview. This was strange for me
being selected without any face to face interview but I was still happy to be getting the job.
The email was written by someone named Ms. Scott. They had enclosed certificate of sponsorship license and the appointment letter. They ask me to sign those papers and to enclose these for the application of UK 2 tier VISA work permit. The signed papers and a passport size photograph was going to be sent to UK border agency entry clearance visa application center to apply for permission to enter the UK under Tier 2 working visa in due time before my resumption date. Also I had to send signed copies by email within 24 hours to Skywalkers Construction limited recruitment team email for record purposes.
They told me that because my resumption date was quite close they have requested to the UK border agency entry visa application center head office in the United Kingdom for speedy processing of my Tier 2 working visa application to work with their firm in due time.
Once the application was done visa application center would inform them and proceed with the processing of my Tier 2 working visa application without any delay. All the formalities that have to follow application procedure were mentioned in the rest of the mail body.
I was expected to pay $5000 as they were helping out the procedure to be carried out soon for me. all my formalities and procedure of getting to sky Walkers would be handled by their team.
They asked me to transfer the said amount through money transfer within 3 days so that the process should not be delayed. The email and the call for selection seemed to be genuine and therefore I transferred the amount stated above.
10 days passed and I did not hear any update regarding my work permit or the following procedure that was meant to take place before I could join the company in person.
I called on the numbers provided for queries +44 70 3596 2533 but did not get to talk to Ms. Scott ; instead I had a word with John who told me that I would get a call from the company once the formalities are all been taken care of.
I did not get any update for the following 5 days which left me doubting the genuineness of this appointment email.
I still kept hopes and called them back again insisting to talk to Ms. Scott who had been in conversation with me all this while. She came on the phone this time and told me that my application had been denied and that I couldn’t be taken into the company now.
This plane refusal left me shocked and I could not understand as to why this was happening to me. I asked for reasons for the denial to which I got no appropriate answer.
I asked Ms. Scott to return my money that was taken for the process of appointment but she refused saying that the money was spent on the procedure of getting me appointed. It has been spent already so it was not refundable now.
What the f*** was that? Shocked and angry with the whole incident I yelled at her and told her that I would sue them if they did not give me my money back.
She did not give any s*** to what I was saying and said that she wouldn’t
help and I could do whatever I wanted to.
These people are running very professional looking scam. They narrated the whole procedure in a way that you would believe it and would transfer the money to them.
Afterwards they deny the job appointment on some stupid grounds and do not even give your money back. I should have known better since they hadn’t called me for any face to face interview and were using a free email address to communicate which no real company would do.
Do not ever trust a job appointment letter unless you are called in person. No real company would charge for visa application at the first place. Also no real company would ask you to transfer the money through Western Union or to any personal account.
Beware of the scam!
