Dr. Darin Mann arrested after inappropriate behavior

Dr. Darin Mann was arrested last Friday after being accused of touching an underage girl inappropriately. The 51 year old physician is a county government employee. He had been appointed the vice chair of the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.
The 15 year old girl had visited Mann’s home at La Plate in December. He made inappropriate comments and then grabbed her buttock over her clothes. He then proceeded to take a picture with his phone. A similar incident also occurred in November.
Mann was arrested on January 13th, after three weeks of investigation. The victim reported the allegations on December 26th to authorities. Mann started working at the Charles County Department of Emergency Services part time as a jurisdictional medical director in October. According to a government press release about his appointment, he was responsible for looking over the patient care provided by professionals as well as volunteer medical personnel at the county.
His practice at Calvert Memorial Hospital (Prince Frederick) suspended his privileges when they heard about the allegations. According to Kasia Sweeney, he had never worked a shift at the facility even though he had been authorized to practice there through his employment with Emergency Medicine Associates.
