Three lives gone in Hit-and-run crash near Don Pedro Reservo

A driver passing illegally, caused a crash on La Grange Road near Don Pedro Reservoir and killed three people in the same, late Friday afternoon. The driver had fled from the scene and is suspected to be Dr. Danny Anderson.
Initially, the California Highway Patrol reported a single death in the crash, which took place just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, north of Bonds Flat Road. The three killed people included a 72 year old man, a 51 year old woman and her teenage daughter. There were three others involved in the crash, who are still admitted in the hospital.
A Lexus SUV was driven by the 16 year old Trista Hoffman of La Grange. She was carrying her mother, Tina Hoffman, 51; friend Annie Johnson, 16 and brother, Dillon Hoffman, 17; and was traveling south on La Grange Road. A Toyota Camry driven by a 66 year old Dorothy Eisemann of Copperopolis approached from the north. She was carrying her 72 year old husband, Rheinholt Eisemann. A third vehicle came up and attempted to pass the Toyota over the double-yellow line, as per the statement given by CHP Sonora Officer Faustino Pulido.
The Lexus SUV took a sharp turn to avoid the oncoming passing car. It went into the dirt shoulder first and then jumped back onto the roadway, where it overturned onto its right. The Toyota rushed and collided with the roof of the overturned SUV. Trista Hoffman and Tina Hoffman suffered fatal injuries on the spot. Rheinholt Eisemann was severely injured and was hurriedly taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center.
Dillon Hoffman suffered major injuries during the accident and was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Johnson suffered major injuries as well, and was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center, located in Sacramento. All these three teenagers were students studying at Sonora High School. Dorothy Eisemann faced minor injuries and was taken to Memorial Medical Center, via ambulance.
According to Pulido, the driver of the passing vehicle fled towards the north after the crash. No information about the driver of the vehicle or description of the vehicle are available at present. The driver, on being held in the case, could face felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter charges.
Pulido desperately asked for help and urged people to come forward and call with any information pertaining to the case.
The crash is still under investigation and alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been the causative factors for the accident. People with information can call Pulido at 916-634-3502 or can contact the CHP Sonora office at 209-984-3944.
