24 Pet Watch is a SCAM. I was sold the policy by the shelter I rescued my dog from. They play on your love of animals. They didn’t tell me my dog was uninsurable due to a pre-existing condition ( before I even owned her)until I made a claim. They then said the shelter told them the pet had a problem at 3 weeks old. They took $400, and now ignore me and leave me on hold. I plan to sue these ### and file a complaint with the Better Biuz Bureau as well as sue my local shelter for fraud.

After having there microchips implanted in my dogs for years I received a from 24Petwatch today stating that if I wanted them to keep my dogs information in thier database I would have to start paying a $14.95 annual fee for each dog. Also information on one of my pets has been lost. As a kennel owner I have recommended these microchips to many customers. I gress my good reputation is gone.

Don’t bother! I had their services in 2008 and filed a claim…that they never filled. They kept saying that they never received my dog’s medical records. I faxed them, my doctor faxed them and I even mailed them. I finally got tired of their crap and cancelled my policy Jan 2009. December 30, 2009 they sent me a letter saying they still hadn’t received my pet’s medical records and couldn’t continue my claim. I called them Jan 21, 2010 and the lady I spoke too confirmed they DID have my dog’s medical records and she was going to speak to claims to clarify what (if anything) they needed and to get them to fill the claim. That was 7 months ago and I’ve heard NOTHING from them. I decided to chat with a representative today to get this sorted out and all the girl kept saying was they don’t reassess claims after 90 days. I told her that 24 Pet Watch contacted ME TWELVE MONTHS after I cancelled my policy so that whole 90 days was bull$*&#. She then claimed she had no record of them contacting me and I told her I had the letter right in front of me. Still the 90 day crap. Fine, I’m writing a letter to them today to give them one more chance to fill my valid claim before I resort to legal matters. I’m NEVER using this company again and telling everyone I know NEVER to use them either! It’s obvious from the run around I was given that they’re doing everything possible to refuse to pay my claim.

I adopted a puppy who had a 24-hour PW microchip implanted at the breeder’s veterinary office. I registered the dog’s chip upon adoption, paid the fee, put the tag on her collar, and thought no more about it. UNTIL…I had to change my phone number. I called 24-hr PetWatch to give them the updated telephone number so that if my dog were to be lost, and someone were to find her and call 24HrPW, they would actually be able to reach me. Imagine my surprise when I was told that they charge $14.99 to make a telephone number change “for this year”, or I could pay $39.99 “to cover changes for life”. I advised her that my other 2 dogs I owned have Home Again chips, and that rather than pay the 24HrPW “annual update fees”, I would be having a Home Again Chip implanted in this dog as well, as Home Again enrolls a dog once forever, and does not charge to update information. What a crock!

I bought a policy (though monthly credit card payment) for my dog back in the last quarter of 2008 after finding a link from H.E.B. Grocery”s website. I never made any claims against this policy. Unfortunately, my pet died from an accident in late November of 2008. I called and cancelled this policy in December of 2008. The representative was nice and advised they were sorry to hear about my pet”s passing away and 24Petwatch would cancel the policy and discontinue monthly billing of the pet health insurance. When my January, 2009 credit card statement arrived, the $27.95 charge appeared. I called 24PetWatch [protected]) and advised/reminded them of my December, 2008 phone call. The representative apologized and advised that their system may have inadvertently sent the charge through for January and assured me the problem was solved. My February, 2009 credit card statement arrived and again, the same charge “and” no credit issued for the January, 2009 charge. I called 24PetWatch [protected]) and advised/reminded them of my December, 2008 and January 2009 phone call. The representative asked if I could fax them a request to cancel the policy. I sent a faxed request to [protected] on February 21, 2009 detailing the pet”s death and the request to cancel and stop billing my credit card. The same charge was showing up with no credit for January, through July of 2009. I finally had enough of this and called my credit card company, explained the issue and request a dispute of the charges and to initiate a block of 24PetWatch. The credit card company followed through. After this frustration, I then called 24PetWatch back again and explained the action I took with my credit card company. The representative was nice and understanding and stated “we have no record of you ever calling, writing, faxing request to cancel the policy. So, I resubmitted the request this time fax, and email, and online with a live chat agent on their website (www.24petwatch.com). This is becoming a full-time job for me chasing/intercepting 24PetWatch”s billing issue! After I provided documents of proof to my credit card company, the credit card company issued credit for the January through July of 2009. I thought this matter was as dead as my puppy, but no!; read on! I have since moved and closed the credit card number associated with this nightmare. On November 3rd, 2010, I receive forwarded mail from my previous address from guess who? 24PetWatch!!! It is a statement, dated October 8, 2010 for $27.95 (due date for insurance for “July, 2009”) plus a $20.00 late fee a total of $47.95. The invoice had an explanation at the top “Declined Payment”. Here we go again . . . I called 24PetWatch today and spoke with a representative about this issue. She was nice at first but became very “matter of fact” after I explained that I am tired of dealing with this. She stated that my July, 2009 payment was declined and they (24PetWatch) for some reason recently received notice of decline from the credit card company. Is this making any sense? The policy was cancelled 12/2009, I continued to be billed for this policy until July of 2009 and they are just now received notice of dispute from my credit card company in October 2010???????? Smell a rat yet? She stated that I need to show proof that my dog passed away in November of 2008 in order to wipe out the July, 2009 bill. Keep in mind, I am not attempting to make a claim on this policy, in fact never filed any claims or used the policy whatsoever. I just want this company to leave me alone and get their accounting problems resolved. The representative further explained that I need proof from a vet that my dog passed away otherwise no proof exists. I asked her if I should dig up my dog”s grave and show the remains. My dog did not die at a vet”s office; he died in my hands after getting out of the backyard and being struck by a car. He was my friend and my buddy. I miss him so much. Over time, I am getting around to not thinking about it as much. 24PetWatch is creating undue stress on me and creating an emotional hell with their terrible billing and record keeping. I will file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, Attorney General”s Office, Better Business Bureau, and look for relief within the guidelines of the FCBA, Unfair Business Practices, my local congressman, and any other federal law which protects against undue harassment. In a summary, this is my hell experienced and brought on by 24PetWatch. Do you want to go through this? Just reading this complaint boards, it looks like this company has a pattern of customer dissatisfaction and disregard for consumer rights.

I enroled my pet with this insurance company. The monthly price seems reasonable but their service is below standard. It took them over a month to send us the paperwork. I ended up canceling them and they have not given us our money back after 2 months. I had to file a dispute with our credit card company (I used to buy the insurance). Thankfully, the credit card company reversed the charges. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY – THEY ARE SUPER FAST TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT THEY PROVIDE VERY LOUSEY SERVICE AND DO NOT WANT TO GIVE YOU A REFUND ONCE YOU CANCEL…

I have 3 dogs which I registered with this company. I am moving in a few months and cannot take them with me. I will be turning them over to a rescue group. I just wanted to delete the dogs from the membership so that the new owners could register them if they want. I did a “live chat” with someone from the company and they told me that I couldn’t just delete the dogs. I needed to fill out a form. They intend to charge the new owners $14.95 for this service (if adoption papers are included, fee will be waived). I never paid a fee when I first registered them and I certainly don’t want someone who is rescuing my pets to pay one either. I had these same pets signed with another company and all I had to do was log in and delete the animal; no questions asked.

I have attempted 4 times to contact PetCare Insurance via phone to cancel my pet insurance policy. They insist you must hold on the cancellation line. No one ever answers the phone. Held for 15 mins each time. However, if I contact their sales line, it is immediately answered. I have emailed the company. However, on their website, it says you cannot cancel a policy except via telephone- talk to a live agent. HA! What a joke! I”ve requested my auto debit be cancelled ASAP today, effective Jan 12, 2011. They need to contact my bank ASAP too. My email is [protected]@bellsouth.net Melanie Thompson

I have been their customer for 3 years and been covering my dog and cat. Both of them have microchips. I regularly pay for a membership, no problem. Recently we moved to another state and I called them to change my address. They gave me a 3-week run around because for an unknown reason they couldn’t do it. I thought it was the easiest procedure: just put my new address in your system. Who knew it would be such a terrible challenge.

I just got 2 cats microchipped at a “low-cost clinic” yesterday and when I went to the website to register them today, I found out about the maintenance fee. I paid $22 per cat at the clinic for the chipping and I thought that would be the only charge. Now I find out that in order to keep the information current in their database, you have to pay a $14.95 maintenance fee per year, or a lifetime fee of $39.95. I went ahead and paid the lifetime fee (for 2 cats $79.90) because I don”t want to get the cats re-chipped and there”s no point in using the service if the info isn”t updated regularly. But, I really feel ripped off. I had my dogs microchipped at Banfield and they only charge you once for lifetime service. No one told me before they put those chips in the cat that I would be in for more charges. It”s a rip-off.

She stated should would process within 24-48 hours. 5/21/18, called again about tags. Was told to hold for supervisor. 35 minutes later I was disconnected. SCAM Group. Do not use 24Pet Watch services.

I own four rescue pets and took the Humane Societies advice and “chipped” each one apon adoption and immunizations. Didn’t check the info online until after the fourth pet. The information was entered incorrectly. My boyfriend was shown as the owner and I was shown as the alternate number. My bad for not checking. I promptly called and faxed them proof as to ownership. Vet records, id numbers etc. nothing! I have now called four times, they have been rude and unwilling to make the change. They can see I’m calling from the contact number on record. This does not give me solice that if my pets are lost I will ever get them back. I regretfully have recommmended them to dozens of people. They’re horrible to deal with.

I purchased two metal identity tags ($9.95 USD each; total after taxes/shipping around $25.00 USD) from 24PetWatch on 2 January 2011–hit my credit card on 3 January, 2011. The web site purchase indicated that I would receive the tags within 4-6 weeks. I found it a little odd that it would require as long as six weeks to punch out two tiny little metal ID tags, but purchased anyway as I have ordered from OTHER businesses online who indicated similar wait times but I always had the product in 10-14 days. I called in early February and actually was able to speak to a representative. He was professional and kind, and assure me there was no issue, but I was asked to give it the full 6-weeks. So after 7-weeks I phoned again. Again I was able to reach a human being, another professional male voice. He was very apologetic, and told me that he could not guarantee my order SHIPPED, but only that their records indicated it was PROCESSED–when I pressed him he said he had no way to tell if they actually shipped my order. Weird? In any event he said he would RE-PROCESS my order (no charge, of coarse) and expedite it–that I should have it within two weeks. OK, it’s been FOUR weeks again and still no order. Sheesh!!! All I can say is NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER order ANYTHING from this company. If they cannot fill an order for two tiny metal dog identification tags in a few weeks, how could you ever trust them to take care of your animals in any ways–they also offer EXPENSIVE animal insurance; I can only imagine they likely NEVER pay out on claims. Thankfully I am only out about $25.00. Good luck!
24PetWatch Pet Insurance Programs Reviews & Complaints
I recently adopted a dog from the North Myrtle Beach animal shelter in SC. With her adoption came a free trail for 24Petwatch. After the trail was up, I cancelled my free trial and was still charged $62.00 for the monthly fee. The fee was dropped, and then I was charged the monthly fee a second time. First attempt to contact 24Petwatch I was told by an agent that because the payment was pending it would fall off and I would not be charged, which was untrue. So I contacted the company again and spoke with an agent named Ashley who advised me that I would be receiving my refund in 5-7 business days. Once those 7 business days were up I still had not received my refund. Getting fed up I spoke with a Jennifer Traversa who assured me that she would keep on their financial team and I would receive my refund in 5-7 business days. It has been going over a month now, and I still have not received my refund. I have called Jennifer Traversa to keep checking on the status, who at first would tell me she would contact me with an update once she had one. There was no contact. Now it has gotten to the point where I call to check on the status and ask to speak with Jennifer, she is unavailable and would contact me later that afternoon. Once again no response. I have emailed her several times asking for an update on my refund and surprise surprise no responses to the emails. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, and will not hesitate to take this to social media and any news outlet that would be willing to listen. DO NOT use this company for anything. They are a fraud and a scam. They take less then 60 seconds to take someone”s money, and then refuse to give any refund.

I think it’s poor business practice and an absolute racket that 24PetWatch charges at least $14.95 to update the contact information on your pet. While I understand that they have overhead costs, it seems that they could cover those costs in another way. If I were making a donation to an animal rescue or shelter instead of just paying them it might be a different opinion but I think they need to reconsider their way of doing business. Keep in mind that while a happy customer will tell a few people about their experience an angry/dissatisfied customer will tell EVERYONE they can. And believe me, I will tell AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to not use this company…including the animal rescue that I adopted her from. They should not be doing business with a company that has such poor business practices.
