After contacting the office several times trying to have a claim started I still don”t have a claim paid sine March 2019. When I first made contact in march they said I did not have the insurance so I asked the to add it back to my account because I never cancelled it, then in april I called again again trying to file a claim and they said I still did not have insurance so then they finally added it then I have sent in the signed paperwork that they asked and they said they will pay the claim but then 6-25-19 I got another letter saying my claim is denied because I have not submitted a document which they did not ask for, so my question why carry this insurance and pay it each month and then become unemployed and them not pay the claim

After several months of seeing an odd amount attached to my lane bryant credit card, i had my attorney call to see who authorized ACCOUNT ASSURE to charge me for their services. They informed my attorney that they are a group that protects the consumer in the event of a disability, or job loss and if unable to make the payments to the credit card that they would assume that job…they then informed my attorney that its a $1.99 service per month, per $100.00 owed. Thats why they took out odd amounts per month. However, my family never asked or signed up for this service. A second call from myself (the account holder), let them no to, CEAST AND DESIST, with any further charges, and to immediately credit every penny they charged me…after a long hesitation from ACCOUNT ASSURE, they said i would see a credit in the next billing cycle…Nothing has showed up yet…so…i will be forwarding this complaint to the ATTORNEY GENERALS office, along with many other people who have fall victim to the same scam…This company attaches itself to your bill, unless you tell them you dont want to have this service…its affiliated with WORLD FINANCIAL BANK or WFNB…i will also be submitting a similiar complaint about this BANK…i, now have enough information to have the states attorney have this company prosecuted…

Apparently when I signed up for my Avenue Credit Card, the sales person (who is on a commission basis for this service) signed me up for a “protection” service called Account Assure. This protection is supposed to pay off my account in the event of loss of employment. I receive my Avenue Credit Card statements online and usually just make the minimum payment. The Account Assure fee does not show up anywhere on the main page or payment page. When I lost my job I obviously did not know I had this service or I would have used it to cover my Avenue balance. It wasn”t until over after a year of unemployment that I finally couldn”t even manage the minimum payments anymore that I found out I had Account Assure and had been paying for it for years. Now that I found out and am asking for coverage, they are saying that the claim was filed too late. I have proof of the date of my unemployment and as I was covered at the time of becoming unemployed (which I can prove, and did send proof of to both Account Assure and Avenue), they should honor my agreement and balance as of that date. I never received any information or terms from them until after they canceled my service and denied my claim. Also, these agreements should be signed up for completely separately from signing up for your credit card on site, instead of as a slight extra that a commission based salesperson can add without your knowledge. They should provide either a refund for the amount paid to Account Assure as I obviously did not even know I had it (or I would have used it when I became unemployed) or settlement of my Avenue account. Redcats, Avenue and World Financial Network National Bank are also responsible as they allow this to happen to their clients.

Claim opened on May 29, 2019 has not been resolved yet on July 25 2019. The claim has not be settled with Comenity Bank which has not charged me late fees and reduced my credit limit as a result of the late payment and the unemployment situation. I have spoken to a representative on 3 separate occasions regarding documentation required and received a new request 2 of the 3 times. I’m not certain if this is a willful disregard to the request to pay the claim and these are stall tactics that they teach the representatives. Either way this presents a learning opportunity for the agents to become familiar with their Policies and Procedures. In any case the claim is still unpaid to date. I am not being told that it will take an additional 7-10 days to review the documents sent on 07/02/2019! This is totally unacceptable. I will also be filing a complaint with the CFPB with this company because if they are doing this to one customer they are doing it to 1000 customers. This is not a free service, this is insurance that is paid to the vendor via Comenity Bank. They too need to explore why there are so many complaints regarding the service that the vendor is providing. There is such a thing as Vendor Oversight and violations and compliance issues with the vendor impacts them as well. If necessary I will revisit this site and find customers who will join a Class Actions Law Suit against this company.

Express/The Limited I have tried my best to do my payments maybe not timely but I have always attempt to pay something. I had Brain surgery February 2018 and I was facing some Financial Hardship. I became totally disable approx a year ago & noticed on my Blair monthly statements tha I”ve been billed for account assure since 2013. However, I cancelled the coverage twice in 2013 & 2014, account assure has been charging my Blair Account every month. They never cancelled my coverage so when I became totally disabled in 2016, I called them with my information & they promised to open a claim in Jan 2015. But they never did, despite numerous telephone calls to them…also they keep billing me for coverage. I”ve been paying the bill myself which is a hardship. I cannot stand bad customer service. This company has no tact and their supervisors lack service skills. I have had my Victoria Secrets account for over 10 years. I have just cancelled. This Account Assure charged me $3.99 over a service I did not subscribe for nor requested to join. When I received my bill, I called them to let them know I was not going to pay for something I had not subscribed to. Their answer was “you must have because that”s the only way we would have charged you. I tried to tell them I had not done it but they wouldn”t listen. I requested a credit and told them an investigation needed to be done. They told me “THEY WOULD CREDIT ONLY IF I DID NOT OPEN AN INVESTIGATION”. I told them NO, I would want an investigation as they had charged my VS account w/out consent. Rude customer service comments were uncalled for. I cancelled my VS account when I called them and they said “they will investigate and if they do not have the recording they will issue a credit”. THAT WAS NOT MY POINT! Yes, I did receive 2 months later a letter where they said “as a customer courtesy they would issue me a refund” BULL! This company had to issue me a credit because I HAD NOT ORDERED THEIR USELESS SERVICES! When I asked for a supervisor, her comments were “I do not understand what else you want, they are issuing you credit”. Idiots with a name tag is what I consider them and it is a shame that they can get away with this behavior. Useless spineless and I will let everyone know that they do not care, they simply feel that returning the fees THEY STOLE to begin with is enough. Not to me.

I have had a Giant Eagle Credit Card for years, with no issue. I called to change my address and the girl said to me, “you pay your balance off every month, you”re a prime candidate for this service”. It”s this service to pay off your credit card if you are laid off or disabled. She said that it cost”s 1.99 for every $100 of your outstanding balance, and you get a $25 credit for enrolling. I thought, why not? It”s a free $25 credit. Well of course I get my next bill, and I”m charged $12 for their stupid service. Well, that is not what was portrayed, and I would have never signed up for that…Fine, there was a misunderstanding, I would like to cancel and would like a refund for that first month of service. I lost my job September of 2018. They missiles my claim as disabled and NOT as job loss. Because of this error that I informed the clerk of, she still filed it as a disability. I had to refile as the paperwork that was sent to me didnt fit my criteria at all. So another month took for it to process. I sent them the paperwork that another rep stated I needed and even part of the list on the claim. It took them a month to send me paperwork with two denials one that stated I didnt qualify for disability (duh really???) And another that I had missing paperwork. I contacted the claims analyst and let me assure you whomever it is is worthless. They feel they dont have to call you when you reach out to them. They’ll just send you a letter in a month. I spoke with a supervisor but I dont know if it did anybody. After all this, I get a call to please contact them regarding my claim. I did only to e told it was a mistake that they found the email I had sent a week prior. December I get a letter that I didnt qualify because my order was shipped in October. I flipped. I had numerous times informed customer care informed them these clothes were back ordered from any 2018 and I lost my job Sept 2018. The know it all clerk threatened to hand up and said it didnt matter. She finally used her brain to get me q supervisor. The supervisor spoke with whomever in the dept. Asking for (more) proof about my acct and that it was back ordered. I sent this proof at the beginning of the month email and all from venus. Still not status and a full acct to pay thanks to these frauds I pay benefits and haven’t used them. Either all my money be refunded or pay my benefits I’m entitled to.

I signed up for a Avenue account and specifically told the salesgirl I did not want insurance on my card. I got my letter today stating that I was instated in their plan on the day I signed up for the credit card. I assume I am in for a fight from all the complaints all over the web. I am fortunate that I paid my bill immediately after shopping so I had no balance to be charged on. But I intend to call Account Assure and ask for an email confirmation that I am no longer enrolled in their program, then I”m calling the credit card people and cancelling my card and telling them why and then I”m contacting Avenue and tell them why I will no longer be shopping in their stores and then I”m going to find that nice young sales girl that filled out the credit card info and explain how I don”t appreciate having to spend this time. The only way to stop them is to cancel your cards at all the shops and tell them why. It isn”t worth a hassle for a couple of dollars and they are counting on it. But when the stores lose your business and the credit card loses your business, they will get rid of this rip off. It is probably directly connected in some way to the credit card and a couple of dollars from all of us really adds up. I also suggest you contact the attorney general of the state that Assure is located in and fill out the forms and request your refund and why. It”s a lot of paperwork but just how mad are you? The Attorney General will fight this fight for you and for free. They will also straighten out the company from doing illegal practices.

I have never received the gift card, and after being flustered about never using my VS credit card, but somehow my balance kept rising, I realized I was being charged $15/month for this service. I thought “hey, that’s a good idea, you never know what could happen in life and plus I get a gift card out of it.” Fast forward, I am unable to work due to medical condition and called Account Assure to verify benefits. They could not help me as my address on file does not match what I told them. I have only lived at this address and received account assure documents at this address. I have no idea why any other address would be on file. They said they will submit to their team to address the discrepancy and update address. I called back to cancel Account Assure benefits and was told again my address was not what they had on file and they would not be able to cancel my benefits due to this issue. Now after reading all of these complaints signing up for Account Assure not only was a waste of time and money but is a total joke and fraudulent. I do not recommend anyone fall into this trap.
