I bought an acer aspire laptop with windows 8.1 about 2 years ago. I made copy of recovery disk. my computer has been acting up so i was going to reinstall windows. when i tried to reinstall it a window popped up mthat said this version of windows 7 is no longer supported. i called acer and they would do nothing. I am out the money the money i paid for it and they wanted me to buy a copy of windows 8.1 from them. I told them i already did when i bought the computer. don’t buy pc from scam acer and don’t buy pc without a recovery disk and make sure the recovery disk is the right one. microsoft would not do anything for me either.
