A&D Automotive Transmissions

A&D Automotive pulled the exact same scam (described above) with us too. Briefly, they quoted $800 for putting in a new transaxle, with both free towing and free diagnostic. Then they supposedly did an RDI, which we did not authorize, and increased the price quote to $1100. We stated we don’t want the repair & wish to haul the car back. Now they are refusing to release the car unless we pay $300 cash for towing and RDI (which was not even authorized). Now we have to sue them to get the car back. A&D told a bunch of lies, some of which is on tape. We also have reason to believe they stole our transaxle and switched it with a damaged one. Before A&D we first took our car to Mr. Transmission (Nashville, TN) who also tried to pull the same scam. When Mr. Transmission wouldn’t release the car we got a warrant for recovery and wrote to the president of the company, which made them release the car. At the time A&D pretended to be the good guys, and towed our car to their shop supposedly for free, and stated that it is illegal to hold a car for payment for unauthorized work. Now they are doing the same thing that they first stated was illegal. Also, A&D did not give us any detail about the diagnostic/ necessary parts & repairs, despite repeated requests.
