A few months ago I gave in and decided to splurge on some fairly expensive “Opium” Perfume that I’ve always loved. I found it on line at a Company called “Affordable Scents” at a slightly discounted price. Their Website was plastered with exclamations like “Brand name – we guarantee you’ll love it” !! “Thousands of satisfied customers”, etc. So I purchased a medium size bottle for $65.00 plus Tax, S & H, etc. When it arrived a week or so later, I knew as soon as I opened it that it was BAD. It looked like the Brand name I was used to, but it smelled like a mixture of Vinegar, “Raid”, Pot-Pourri, & Corn chips (I kid you not!) It was so obviously bad that I was certain the company would take it back and refund my money. When I emailed “Affordable Scents”, they said I was wrong and that “All Sales are Final”. (She also did not sound surprised at all with my complaint…) I asked them “What does it mean that you say all over your website – “You’ll love our perfume – we guarantee it”! Basically that means absolutely nothing – just a figure of speech loosely translated from an Asian culture. I was very angry because the perfume is so disgusting that I would not even give it away! I said “Just let me return it, you smell it and then decide if i am crazy” – They would not even do that. I decided to wear it one time to work hoping maybe it was my olfactories gone awry – and I swear to God when my Boss came in that morning she said right away – “Did someone spray for bugs”? UNBELIEVABLE!! So now it just sits on the counter looking pretty reminding me of the $78.00 I threw away! “AFFORDABLE SCENTS” – (Located In California) DON’T BUY FROM THEM – YOU’LL BE THROWING YOUR MONEY AWAY !
