ALKCO sent me a new replacement lighting fixture (Slique T2 SQ213) to replace one that no longer functioned (balast was defective). On installation of the new fixture, my electrician received a severe shock, as the whole casing of the fixture was activated. Not only didn’t the fixture work, but there was a dangerous defect that could have resulted in serious injury or death. I am immediately reporting this defect to make sure that the company’s products are investigated and that their negligence does not result in harm to any other consumer. They have asked me to return the fixture and they claim they will send out another replacement. Supposedly, they are considering covering the electrician’s service charge for one visit. I may follow this initial complaint up if they do not fully cover my expenses for installing a functioning replacement fixture.
