Please be forwarned! Do not let these individuals into your home! Company cold calls potential customers, even those on the “Do Not Call List.” It is your typical “bait and switch.” Company offers a “special” $30 cleaning and inspection of your chimney and boiler vents; however, they “create” problems once they arrive. (By the way, three technicians arrived to do a $30 cleaning!) I was told my clay chimney liner had cracks and my boiler connections were ill-fitted. Being a senior citizen, I was not able to get on the roof and inspect situation. I was told “I had a problem. . . . . .a BIG one!” Immediately technicians wanted to see my boiler in basement, whereby I was told my chimney had “faulty” and loose connections that would cause carbon monoxide to back into the house and cause a serious health hazzard to me as well as a fire hazzard. Immediate repairs were necessary to correct this problem. I was bullied using scare tactics by a very aggressive worker named John Calvert, who I later found out through research that he is a convicted felon being arrested and serving time for scamming people while working for another chimney cleaning business at a Hicksville-based Complete Chimney Inc. company in New York. Calvert pleaded guilty in 2007 to defrauding homeowners out of more than $17,000 by telling them that they risked carbon monoxide poisoning unless they allowed him to make unnecessary and poorly done repairs to their chimneys. This is only one case. Another case involving Mr. Calvert can be found involving 26 consumer complaint made in Nassau County against Complete Chimneys, Inc. I was literally scammed out of $2,800. I had two different contractors later tell me that the work All American Chimney and Duct Cleaning performed was unnecessary. My clay liner has absolutely no cracks, and I was defauded into purchasing a 25-ft. stainless steel liner and new boiler fittings! I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income and I was clearly taken advantage of. .
