On January 1st 2019 got into a accident which I was supposed to be fully covered. They doubled my deductible from $500 to $1000. And when I finally got my car back it only ran for less than 2 miles before I broke down. I call the Allstate agent and he told me that if it wasn’t part of the accident then they would not cover it. My side is the engine was fine until they sent it to their body shop. I was told that someone put water in the transmission fluid. I have been without a vehicle for 10 months now and it has ruined my credit score and I need a car for Dr appointments and general transportation. I care for my elderly mother. I need advice on what to do.

Agent Left Me With "No Agent" Apparently for 2 + Yrs - Platinum Package
When I asked this new agent that I called about this handling of my account – he was glib and cavalier saying: “well, you’ve got one now!” Shouldn’t I be getting a hefty rebate for paying on a policy that suddenly and without warning had no agent anymore? Is this legal for an insurance agency to do without any notice?
Commercials Very Misleading
I see the commercials and just start seeing as to how misleading they are about “accident forgiveness” and deductible going down each year. What they don’t tell you is that these “perks” do not apply if you have their so called “value plan”. Now I know how they were able to come in under my current company in premium pricing. I had a claim with my old company just before changing. Which kicked up my homeowners premium up about $100 (which I was never notified about) and now I have to wait 3 years before I start checking into different companies. I really should have stayed with my old company.
Bad Hands
Our motor home has been in the repair shop since June and now it is October. Allstate refuses to pay our repair shop to finish up the work on our motor home so we can get it back. We bought our motor home to use in the summer months, we never got to use it all summer. Our repair shop and us have contacted Allstate many many times and they refuse to pay to finish it so we can get it back. SAVE YOUR SELF A LOT OF TROUBLE AND BUY YOUR INSURANCE ELSEWHERE. SIGNED IN “BAD HANDS.”
Personal Accident Plans Are a Joke!
Absolute joke, Went back to the duck. Had to send appeal after appeal and complain to the state to finally get them pay less than half of what they owed us. Really hurt my family. They set guidelines that are not in your control and lack any true customer service. I suggest run not merely walk away from their so-called Accident Polices. They don’t pay up!
Allstate Insurance, BAD Experience. They Hire Incompetent Adjusters. Is This on Purpose to Avoid Paying the Claims?
I was driving my car about 2 weeks ago when an SUV hit me from behind. Fortunately both drivers were fine, so I decided against calling the police. Big mistake! I filed a claim with Allstate who is the insurer of the person that hit me so I can get my car repaired. I got an estimate myself from a body shop in Boca Raton where I live, car repair shop that is approved by most insurance, including state Allstate.
There are 3 damages on the back of my car, bumper scratched, a metal ornament damaged and a dent in the trunk. Powerline Auto Body Inc. estimate $1485.70 – 3-5 days rental car – $30/day + tax. I drive an Audi 4D sedan which is in perfect condition. I was asked by the Allstate agent to go to one of their adjusters, at King Automotive Group in Coconut Creek.
I went today for my appointment, thinking that it is a simple procedure. Mr. **, field adjuster for Allstate inspected my car and gave me an estimate. It was much lower than the estimate I got from the other shop. Estimate – $653.30 Comparing the 2 estimates, I realized that the dent in the trunk, the main damage from the accident was left out. Arguing with car adjuster Mr. **, I was told that he did not include the dent in the estimate, because it is unlikely that it is part of this accident and I need to prove this!!!
Apparently the owner of the car did not claim any damage on her car, so… that means that this damage was not part of this accident. Great reasoning! So, to summarize, I have a damaged car because a quite large SUV hit me from behind, all the damage is in the back of my car and I do need to prove it? Prove what? I think my car is enough proof! After that I called Allstate, I asked for a manager that was not eager to talk to me either. After multiple requests Mr. **, sent me back to the same adjuster.
I really do not see the purpose revisiting the same person. The big question is does Allstate work with incompetent adjusters because they do not want to pay the correct amount for the claims? I was really expected for Allstate to do something about my complaint because I did make the claim with them and not send me back to the same person. And after all arguing… what do I get back? “Appointment: Tuesday, 10/21/2014 03:40 PM Status: Closed Created: 10/17/2014 Type: Drive-In Location: (Sf) King Collision Center D/I 4950 NORTH STATE RD 7 COCONUT CREEK FL, 33073”
Very, Very upset with Allstate insurance. How will I get compensated for my time and hardship? I had to cancel my next appointment because I was so upset of both incompetence and the way I was being treated; I felt insulted. Not fair for me or my client that I needed to cancel the appointment.
Would Be Tough to Do Without Using Profanity
Have a definite sewer problem, agent kept on calling me to hire a plumber, she had no recommendation, no help at all. Just closed case without my consent. Kept on finding reasons not to cover loss. I agree with all these other reviews, Allstate homeowners is a joke. If you get it, you are throwing away money. Amica I hear is very good, or I’m sure just about any other insurance agency.
Very Bad Company To Have Bus.
I had an accident with an Allstate policy holder that admitted fault and was willing to pay out of pocket but could not come up with the money to pay for the damages. So I filed a claim with his insurance company Allstate. They talked to him and talked to me and accepted liability and the next day decided to change their mind on the liability decision. Keep in mind that their driver admitted fault and they already accepted liability.
They scheduled an inspection of my truck and the inspector said it was not impact damage when clearly it was and also he said, it was 5 minutes before he said it wasn’t. They wrote a estimate for $360 and some change. There is no shop that can fix the damage to my truck for this amount. They reassigned my claim to another adjuster that I told them I do not want him to contact me by phone or email.
Also in the past about 3 or 4 years ago I had another incident with Allstate where another insured backed into my car. I had a Lincoln at the time and their insured also admitted fault (the same adjuster) and they accepted fault and said they would take care of the damages and again changed their mind and did not pay for the damages. Allstate what do you have against me personally? Why are you making me stress over something that you and get headaches because what you are doing is not right?
Auto/home package bait and switch
In February or March of 2011 I was offered, by Allstate, a bundled service of house insurance with automobile liability insurance. The agent told me that, taken separately, I would be paying more for auto than I currently was with Geico, but that the home insurance would be very competitive, which it was on the surface. I should have known that things were amiss when she told me I could not examine a copy of the policy unless and until I purchased it! But, acting in good faith, I did.
I must make note here that I travel a lot and all correspondence must take place by email, at all times, and I was specific about that with the agent. A week or so after paying the premium, a local representative of the company showed up to look at the house, and he took about an hour and a half to do so. When he was done I asked him “Do you see anything at all which will cause a problem with this policy?” He said no, it all looked fine.
After this I left for about 3 weeks, and upon my return had to contact the Allstate agent about proof of insurance or some other detail, and in the course of conversation she told me the homeowner’s policy had been cancelled. I reviewed my email… no notice. I asked why and she said there were problems with the roof (one steel panel was off for a repair), trees too close, construction issues and a couple others I can’t recall right now. I asked her if this man who came out was authorized and qualified to answer my questions about potential problems and she said yes, absolutely… so he lied to me evidently. Or so it appears.
I demanded a refund immediately and I got a small refund, of under a hundred dollars. Then they sent me a bill for the some unpaid part of the auto insurance which, now that it was no longer part of a package deal, went up considerably. I called Allstate claim resolution and explained the entire problem. He was very cordial, took note of all I said, and that was the last contact I had. I am now barraged with calls from collectors. I told them, as I told the claims resolution guy, that I am never paying. I have no legal responsibility to deal with collectors but I would like it to stop. Thanks.
You Need Better Insurance to Protect You From Mayhem, Like Allstate
One of Allstate’s client’s hit me from behind going 65 Mph while I was stopped in traffic. This caused the cars to catch on fire and blow up. I lost everything in the car and Allstate does not deny my personal items or claims but wants to only give me $2000 LESS of my claim because they claim my items are used.
They want to deduct money from MY belongings when their client blew my car up! I lost car keys, an iPod, shoes, medication, my daughter’s car seat, my daughter’s belongings, my laptop, laptop bag and other items I had inside. I have copies of the police report, pictures of the scene (their client never braked), all copies of paperwork admitting their clients fault and more.
The fact that it has been almost 2 months and we cannot replace anything is ridiculous. Allstate seems to think that because my daughter’s favorite stuffed animals were ‘loved’ that I can accept pennies on the dollar for what they are worth? They think that because I wore a pair of shoes TWICE they are worthless? I cannot replace anything, and would have all of my belongings if their client had been paying attention on the road. I was knocked out in my car and another driver had to wake me up to get out as it burst into flames.
The driver was arrested for driving drunk, driving over a hillside and damaging his car weeks before he hit me! He had just gotten his car back from the repair shop 3/19 and wrecked into me 3/21! Their client shared all of this information at the scene of the accident and took full responsibility. All I want to do is get my life back together and replace the things we have lost. I have tried to work with customer service this whole time and they do not want to cooperate.
This is the worst customer service experience of my life; I do not know how they can treat me like I am the one at fault when I could have lost my life that day. Allstate makes you feel like you are in one of their Mayhem commercials. They must get their ideas from claims from their clients that they deny and put through further hell.
Roadside Service
On 17 Nov 15 I requested road service due to running out of gas. After 30 minutes of being transferred from department to department, with the accompanied computer wait of “We will be with you shortly,” starting with a message that said “All our agents are helping other customers, we will be with you in ** minutes.” This continued for nearly an hour. When an agent finally answered, he was curt, impolite, and very unwilling to arrange the service I needed. A Good Samaritan motorist stopped, took me to a fueling station, and returned me to my vehicle. Just last week, Allstate had the gall to send me a letter denying my claim due to lack of receipts.
I did not receive any service, had not filed a claim and had cancelled my membership on 17 Jan 16. Allstate still debited my checking account on 19 Jan 16 for discounted membership dues. I called again to customer service to demand a refund of that debit but was denied that credit although they terminated coverage on 17 Jan 16.
If you think that Allstate is “like a good neighbor”,… You live in a neighborhood most would choose to avoid. Get AAA, they may cost a couple of dollars more per year, but at least they respond and send help when you need it. I had AAA for about 10 years without complaint and was provided the excellent service they advertised. I am sorry I fell for a few dollars less to find out about how badly Allstate Motor Club really treats its customers.
Never Had a Worse Insurance Experience in My Life
You are in horrible hands. Never had such problems and stress with a professional company in my life. I’ve been insured with Allstate for a few years now. Recently began leasing a car and also turned 25. The process of getting the insurance approved is a hassle in itself. I have automatic payment taken out of my account. A week ago I received a statement from my Honda dealer that my car is uninsured!!! Called up Allstate right away and they were very hostile.
As the story goes my father had called up months prior to get HIS policy changed to triple A Insurance. The agent had spoken to him about MY insurance as well because it’s extremely high. I have no points accidents penalties, etc. The agent asked for my dad to fax a quote and they would see if they could match it. Somehow the company saw the fax and CANCELED my policy 3 months ago. Without MY permission, consent, any form of notification.
They wanted 800 to reinstate. For what? I haven’t had insurance on my LEASED car unbeknownst to me. After many phone calls they agreed to reinstate for no charge. It’s been almost a week, they have yet to contact me. I’ve called every morning to follow up with no progress. They’re telling me it takes a week. I have two days to show reinstatement to Honda dealership.
DO NOT trust this company. Your best interests and safety are not their priority. They haven’t insured me since November, yet took a payment from my account in December. As soon as I’m reinstated I am switching and cancelling. I could be insured for at least 60 less a month and not have to deal with their crap. Stay away.
Allstate Commercials Are Not True to Their Customer Service
An Allstate insured customer’s car crashed into my garage causing damage to 2 garage doors, main load bearing support and frame. Filing the claim, the Allstate Claim Representative took information pertaining to the accident report file by the Local Police and informed me that I should hear from Allstate within 24 hours. 48 hours (2 days) passed, no contact from Allstate; so I called inquiring as to why I had not be been contacted.
This Allstate Representative was very rude in telling me that I did not submit a claim with a Contractor’s estimate. I inform Allstate that in the initial reporting of the claim, I was not informed of the steps that needed to be completed in filing the claim, only the Police accident report information was requested from me. I requested to speak to a Manager, but very convenient to/for Allstate, all Managers were in a meeting. I requested for a Manager to call me inference to claim, but no one ever called.
After submitting the Contractor proposal, I received a call from a ** stating that Allstate was settling at 40% below submitted contract proposal and I could take the settlement and do whatever I please because it was non-negotiable. I ALSO ASKED, to have a claim adjuster contact me, and/or the Contractor, but again ** told me that they would not; true to her word, no Adjuster has contacted me or the Contractor. I’m very taken aback by Allstate response to my claim. Their insured customer’s auto damaged my property, but Allstate is treating me as I’m the villain.
With their paid spokesperson and actors/actresses, the commercials may be entertaining, but Allstate true Customer Service and Claims Representatives are very lacking and in a sense MAYHEM!
What happened to them?
I have my home & auto insured with Allstate. I decided to change agents, as I was having a few customer service issues with my current agent. Actually I have never even spoken to the agent who owns the agency, as he leaves everything up to two staff members. I called Allstate last night to change agencies and found they have outsourced their customer service to an overseas call center. I know almost every company in America does this now, but insurance is something very personal and I don’t care to discuss my insurance needs to some foreigner who probably doesn’t even have insurance.
Since I had no idea what this person was saying, I demanded to speak to an American customer service representative. I was handed to an agent here in the US, but the connection was bad so I called Allstate’s 800 number this morning and again got an overseas representative. So once again I asked to speak to an agent in the US and finally was able to speak to someone. The agent said it would take up to 10 days to transfer my policies to the new agent.
Ten days, really? Now days everything is done at the touch of a button. Why does it take 10 days to switch agents? I don’t like the idea that someone in a foreign country has access to my home and auto information. Not to mention putting Americans out of work. Shame on you Allstate.
Uninsured Motor Claim
My accident occurred almost 5 years ago. My first 3 years were a nightmare and I continue to suffer with the chronic pain. I choose to stay active and continue with my work. It appears as though I am functioning but the pain is always there. I continue to receive treatments such as acupuncture, message, and chiropractic.
Many doctors have given up since I cannot seem to take the pills. Pills have given me too many side eaffect. As a result, I had to find alternative methods to lessen my pain such as using a portable sauna, tens machine, message devices, and taking herbs. Many of these treatments have been paid out of my pocket but AllState doesn’t seem to care. Some days, I don’t want to get out of bed just like people who are suffering with the fibromyalgia.
Five years into my accident, AllState has offered $25,000 from my uninsured motorist coverage. Is it for the pain I suffered or pain I continue to have? Let me sell my chronic pain to the AllState stock holders. We sit and complain about these insurance companies but we are helpless. AllState has more resources than us, but it is us who support these companies and our legislators who need to hear our voices.
Incompetent Claims Service/ Misrepresentation
My vehicle was broken into and items stolen from the car while staying in a hotel away from home. Vandals broke the door glass, incident was captured on hotel surveillance video. Despite reporting loss within hours and providing the company with all contact information for the hotel, the police department, report, detective, hotel insurance carrier and the surveillance company the personal property claim remains pending 90 days out. Video shows 5 packed bags removed from the car by the thieves. Allstate agreed to cover the car immediately but offered no immediate assistance for the window repair and assumed the damage was under the deductible.
After I located a mobile window replacement myself so I could mitigate the damage and continue home the carrier deleted the claim without contacting me for inspection of the car. I had to re-submit the claim for damage to the car which was paid 3 weeks later. Despite accepting that the loss occurred, Allstate refused to extend coverage for the personal property for over 60 days.
Allstate sent a letter indicating that hotel carrier was extending coverage. Hotel carrier denied the claim and stated in writing that no one from Allstate had contacted them. Allstate then claimed letter indicating extension of coverage by the hotels carrier was a typo. IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE WITH THIS COMPANY FIND ANOTHER CARRIER BEFORE YOU HAVE A CLAIM. Policy Home & Auto since 2006.
Allstate Made Decision For The Wrong Car
I had an accident and was in the right. The car that hit me was in the wrong. The place where the accident happened, had a video, which Allstate refuses to request. I had a lawyer and witnesses. The rookie police officer wrote the report wrong. I did not see the report until three days later. I confronted the officer, he refuses to change the accident report. Allstate insists that I was wrong, when I was right. My lawyer told me, Allstate made their mind up before the accident. They are committing fraud. They never requested the video tape, never came to the accident scene, nothing!
Whatever was said to Allstate, made no difference. I Feel this place where the claim was made is corrupt. I wrote to State ins. company, complaining about Allstate, this was 7 months ago. They still did not select a claim adjuster. Why? There is fraud everywhere and we allow the insurances companies to get away with murder. That is why our insurance policies go up every 6 months, because of fraud and corruption.
Horrible
They recommend using repair centers in their network, bragging on the customer service. Horrible customer service, it took a week to get an estimate, When I dropped it off, they said they would have an estimate in 2 days. They kept my vehicle 5 weeks and saying they were backed up, waiting on parts, still working on it, Meanwhile dragging their feet about giving me an answer in helping with a rental once my rental allowance ran out. I ended up without a vehicle for 9 days.
Allstate kept referring me back to the repair shop would not have chosen if they had not recommended. Allstate did not have me in good hands. I have been with Allstate for 20 years, but I am shopping for new coverage for my house and 2 cars.
Home Policy - Bait and Switch. Quote a Price and Increase 2mo. later
an Agent with Modern Consulting, Inc. was very attentive and answered all my questions. I had a lot of questions because I wanted to make sure I compared apples to apples. After much review, I decided to switch autos, home and rental on a package deal.
Two months after the policy came into effect I got big increases in the premiums for the home and rental (both paid by the mortgagee), with no good explanation. It simply was a bait and switch scam. I was lured by a competitive rate and two months after, when nobody is paying too much attention (because you assume you have your policy settled) I get a notice for the increases. The increases made the work of shopping around and the switch from the previous carrier worthless. Be very careful with Allstate Insurance. Don’t believe their quotes, they’ll sneak increases when you’re not watching.
Looking for suggestions
2 hours short of a week since we bought a new-to-us car, my wife is at Petsmart and some lady backs into our car, causing $1,300 worth of damage. The woman that hit our car admitted fault at the scene, but apparently the story changed to the insurance company. No cameras. Her insurance (Allstate) talked to us about splitting the damage, but now we can’t get anyone to call us back. Anyone out there have any experience with this? Is there anyone we can complain to, to get some action? Small claims court? If so, are we suing the driver or her insurance company? I’m at a loss.
Agent Rips Off Elderly
My parents have been loyal customers for 40 years and the agent has taken many many dollars from my elderly parents. When I call her she told me that they would get a 15% off for the past many years but fail to provide them with even a written letter saying they would get this discount. Then she had the nerve to say that since they had a small claim after no claims for 40 years that they will not get the 15% discount.
I ask her to provide my parents their 15% discount for all those past years they haven’t had a discount. She says she cannot do that. I cancelled the policy and we went to another insurance company then she has the nerve to send them an outstanding balance bill because she said she had to terminate the policy.
I am filing a complaint with the BBB and filing a complaint to the department of aging. If this is how this crappy company takes care of their 40 years loyal customers I cancelled my policy with them as well. Beware you’re in good hands till something happens then they open their hands and treat you like crap.
Bad Business!
I was rear ended and got 0 help from Allstate. My brand new car is totaled. They wouldn’t even call the person’s insurance company who hit me. They told me my rate would go up. Plus it’s my only wreck I’ve ever had. Accident forgiveness is a lie. And I never got a good driver’s check either!! All lies to suck people in and then screw them!!! ZERO STARS!!!
$20 Gas Card Scam, No Gas Card for me...
I recently went to Allstate insurance agent Kevin ** office with a flier I received in the mail promising a $20 Gas Card Flier. It said “Stop by my office for a $20 gas card.” I was told I would not get one. I do not work for Allstate, so I feel I deserve a card with this flier. Really false advertising.
Unauthorized and Unknowing Premium Increase
I had Allstate homeowners and auto insurance in Illinois for the past 12 years. Recently I have retired to Florida and discovered my premiums doubled without my knowledge and authorization. Reluctantly, I had to change companies in order to save myself two-thirds of the cost. Allstate is still billing me for the unauthorized premium for the final month. Corporate office is no help, and now want to send me to collections! I would not recommend this insurance co. to anyone in their right mind.
Allstate for 49 Years, Two Small Claims and No Renew!
I had Allstate Insurance for 49 years. I had two small claims for water damage and they would not renew when policy expired. 49 Years! Plus when I switched to Allied it was $900 per year cheaper (3 cars and house). $900! Stay away, very bad hands!!
Go Elsewhere
These people are just after your money, and when it comes down to it, they won’t cover you. Their customer service is SO terrible, I don’t know why this company is still in business. Go elsewhere, your life will be so much better without Allstate in it.
They Do Not Pay When You Have a Loss.
This Company is the biggest ripoff. They make you pay your premiums but when there is a loss they ignore you and never pay. It took them nearly six months to come up with an amount to compensate me and it was about 10 times smaller than the amount I had enforced. From that I paid my attorney 650 dollars and I got about 80 dollars left, the equivalent of the premium I had been paying.
Rear Ended by 2500 Truck
The adjuster refused to negotiate and was intimidating and insulting offering half of the Kelly Blue Book value for my car. Still fighting. Have a ton of documentation of cars for sale and KKB research but no one to fight with me or for me. TEXANS have voted away all their litigation rights. Beware of dealing with Allstate! Also refused a rental car since my car was totaled. How can I get to work while I fight for a more fair payout? I can’t. They bully and intimidate and are unprincipled people. I had a similar accident that was not my in which a car rear ended me and Geico treated me fairly.
17 Year Customer Ignored
I have been a customer with Allstate for over 17 years. My home and auto has been covered with Allstate. In 17 years, I have had 1 one claim. I relocated and transferred my coverage to Dallas, TX which resulted in a 30% increase upon renewal! I was told because I lost a discount. The discount was given upon logging into the Allstate website and clicking a button! No one bothered to tell me that my discount was in jeopardy or that in order to keep my CURRENT RATE, I needed to click a button for no paper mail which was done!
It had been selected for one of my policies however I was supposed to select it for all. To add insult to injury; I had not received any paper mail from Allstate! I received a bill via EMAIL with the higher rate. When I inquired WHY my rate went up, it took them a while to find it. Once we determined the problem, I was told that there was nothing that could be done until my next renewal! I had to pay the higher premiums.
So much for Loyalty. No one from the Corporate office even bothered to call me once they were told of the problem/concern. A customer of 17+ years just ignored. I look forward to ignoring them very soon. Allstate just wants your money. Customer Service is below 1 star and I am telling everyone I meet about my experience.
The End Is Not Good
Good people bad company. To see if a person is of a good character or bad takes very long relationship. You come across lot of people with very impressive first impressions that people tell even tell their deepest secrets but end up having a huge scar for the rest of their lives. Even if their first impression appears hard hearted, the more you get to know the person, you see them with sincere heart, trying their best to keep their promises, always thinking about the other person over self, and doesn’t change their mind is a person of good and beautiful character.
You can tell by a person by the way they use the bathroom. There’s a saying that person is different before using the bathroom and after using. There are people who clean up their mess after the use so others who follow will use clean facility. These are people with good character. But there are people who use the bathroom as if they’re never going to use it again, spilling water over the sink, wasting papers and water since it’s not their money. These are people who has two different mistrustful characters.
This is my story. Three years ago, 10/26/2010, I’ve injured my knee as the other driver illegally made a quick U-turn. He was carrying AllState auto insurance. I went through physical therapies, cortisone injections, surgery, acupuncture but I’m still limping. I’ve hired an attorney but we ended up firing him as he lied about his work and we ended up getting bills through the collection agency.
June 2013, AllState called me to notify that the agent who’s handling my case, he was changed. He started out saying the agent who was handling it before didn’t offer you enough and depicted he will compensate for the time loss and all the treatments. I told him I’m still limping so I need more treatment. He said go ahead and get all the treatments I needed and just send them the bills. As of this date, I am still being treated by UW physical therapy.
On 10/23/2013, when I was home, I’ve received a call from AllState so I answered but I don’t know how that’s possible but it went to voice message. Immediately after, AllState called my home phone so I answered but they terminate the call as soon as I answer. So I called AllState 5 times and left two messages after but no one answered or returned my calls. I found that after 3 years passed, legally AllState is not responsible for me. I did call many times and left messages but no response after their call to me on 10/23/13.
At first, they sweet talked to me in believe that they will do their best to be there until I am finished with my treatment and empathized with my pain but at the end they refuse to respond to any of my phone calls or messages. If they don’t give me any settlement then they will have some profit but it’s not forever. You need to wait until the end to make any decision to see if a person is of a good character or bad, company with a good standard or bad.
My story part 2. For the past three years, I have been limping severely. My legs are very weak that I am constantly bump into things so I have bruise everywhere. My two toes are bruised and black color as I put lot of pressure on it to make my balance. I constantly wake up in the middle of the night to take pain medication. Due to my physical health, I am deeply depressed and easily irritated about everything. I had a small restaurant but due to my injury, I had to hire more people so I didn’t bring enough to pay for the bills. Consequently, I had no choice but to close my business a year ago. I am currently in physical therapy at UW.
Three years after my accident date, on 10/28/13, I’ve received a call from AllState. He said he will compensate for the past three years I was in pain and having to hire more employee with $8.50 per day but only if I sign it by today. I didn’t sign since the promises they have been telling me is different from that they’re offering. I have been suffering from this excruciating pain for the last 3 years, unable to walk straight, not to mention the mental health and financial hardship. I am still limping. AllState is very inconsiderate for people with pain, adding great stress and mental health issues.
Why didn’t AllState respond to any of my call before the 3 years is up? I consulted with a lawyer but was told they can’t help me since it’s been 3years since the accident. Even if I need more treatment, there was no way for me to extend and if AllState refuse to pay any, there is nothing I can do. I believe strongly that AllStates purposely avoided my phone calls and didn’t return call until a day after the 3 years. They’re still hurting the people who are hurt even more.
Terrible Customer Service
Allstate is saying that I still owe them nearly 100$ after I cancelled my policy in June of 2013. First off, let me say that I asked my agent before I cancelled if she thought I would owe any more money because I could just go ahead and pay it while I had money in my account considering I’m a college student on a very strict spending limit. She had told me that I was fine and would not owe anything; I was happy with this statement. I thought all was well and taken care of. Not even two weeks later, I received a letter in the mail saying I still owed them money and every two weeks since then I’ve gotten that letter.
I called my former agency first and spoke with them and was told that “no one in the office would’ve told you that you didn’t owe any money because we don’t handle that kind of stuff here” and that “when you pay your statement every month you’re actually paying for coverage of the previous month.”
A) how can you say that you’re firm doesn’t deal with accounting issues when I can call and make a payment over the phone with you, therefore, you handle money and can do the math to see if I will still owe money or not. And B) how does that make sense? Why would I pay after the fact to have my car covered? I would be paying to insure my car for the upcoming month.
After this I called 1-800-ALLSTATE (the customer service line) and was connected with two difference foreigners whom I could barely understand and one of them supposedly being a supervisor. The “supervisor” proceeded to YELL at me and tell me that I was wrong and when I make my payments on the 11th of every month to cover the 25th-25th of every month that it’s actually a late payment. How?! That makes no sense. That should be considered an early payment if anything.
He then told me that “you should just pay the money because it’s really not that much.” Maybe for the supervisor of customer service that isn’t a lot of money, however, for a college student who is paying her own way through and buying/renting my own textbooks, that’s a lot of money! That’s one of my textbooks alone! What ever happened to “the customer is always right”? I feel like I have been constantly lied to, cheated, and robbed from this company. I will never use this company ever again and will never recommend this company to any of my family or friends.
For minimum liability on a 1998 Acura, 130$ a month is outrageous and my premium continued to climb even with the Good Student and Good Driver and Automatic Payment discounts. The representatives in this company are miserable at customer service or providing any form of help to customers. I had been with the company a full year, my parents for over 20 years, my grandparents for nearly 40 years, my boyfriend for 6 years, and my brother for 5 years. They have just lost themselves a whole family of valuable customers and many more to come as soon as all of this comes out.
It Took 8 Times and Months for Them to Write Our Home Owner's Correct!!
I told the agent what I needed in a homeowner’s policy and paid for it in cash for the year (In full)! Then we got the policy, and it had all kinds of mistakes on it! I called to get it done right and they said “ok no problem”. It took them 8 mailings to get it right! I had to hold them by the hand so much and put up with so many excuses for their simple basic mistakes! Then they raised the cost of the policy without even telling us, during the year, when it was almost up a year later. The policy was paid in full when I took it out. So I checked on the reviews, and I couldn’t believe how bad Allstate was, so I didn’t renew the home owner’s policy.
I wrote them to inform them. Then Allstate sent us our bill for our auto’s insurance. We paid it even though it was higher! Then, one month later they sent us another bill after we accepted the policy and paid for it in full! They wanted more money, so I called and no one at Allstate knew anything! They would send me from dept. to dept. and even billing dept., didn’t know why!
We never had any claims of any kind and I thought they would get back with me when they said they would. I got tired of all the phone calls to them and every time they were nice but they didn’t know anything! I realized they were going to never know anything about my bill or anything else. I am not sure they know who they are! I have been getting insurance for 40 years and I never had so many problems with an insurance company not getting anything right on its own paper work and policies.
After all that is their product that you pay for! I thought I was dealing with children! It’s like they don’t want your business. I just paid the extra money, because after reading the reviews I knew they wouldn’t return our prior payment! So when the Auto insurance policy ended, I called the agent: E-mailed and U.S. Mailed them that I would not be renewing our auto policy with them! I don’t know if they understood but time will tell! I am so glad we never actually need to make a claim, and I would like to thank the people who take the time to write a review on All STATE! What a lousy insurance experience with All State and I would never trust them to cover us ever again!
Allstate Lied to Me
In 2017 I owned a 2004 Pontiac, sold it to Carmax and got a 2015 VW Beetle. My insurance was $92 a month with the Pontiac. The night I bought the Beetle I went from liability to full coverage. The person who was on the phone with me at the 1800Allstate number told me my rate would raise 569 dollars over 6 months. So, worst case just under $200 a month, sounded steep, but, the man on the phone also said my agent would adjust my premium so I felt at ease.
Not 24 hours later, my agent, Jim ** told me 2 separate times that my premium was now $397 a month. He told me it’s not his fault. I called the 1800 number and there was nothing he could do. I thought this was borderline criminal, very unreasonable, and downright wrong. I have 1 speeding ticket in my life and I’m 28 years old. I wish Allstate the absolute worst of luck.
Car Accident
AllState insurance policy holder hit my vehicle and they’re not contact their insurance. I have reach out and file the claims, however the person who’s handle the claims put me on hold for 48 hrs because they’re unable to contact their Policyholder.
Meanwhile at the time, my car is in a big damaged but drivable. At the time of accident my left shoulder and kneecap is injury. And they said at this time they cannot do anything for me because they are still waiting for the policyholder to contact and report to them. I am not recommend AllState Insurance to anyone. Most of insurance I’ve dealing with they’re all acting very Fast and responsible quick but AllState Insurance has a very poor services.
Sabotaged and Trapped
RUN, RUN, RUN!!!
Policy Cancelled With No Notice
After over 15 years with Allstate my wife passed away late in October who happened to manage our finances. On any account after this it took me a few weeks to get on top of the bills one of which was Allstate for our Auto Insurance. I noticed that the payment was past due so I called Allstate to sort things out, the agent had me pay $204 for the November Payment which was past due. It was now November the 16th. OK, so a few week later I drive 4 hours away from home to pick up a new truck, part of the transactions was to transfer my insurance over to the new vehicle.
When Allstate was called I was told that my policy had been cancelled in November because of non payment of the October bill. I explained my circumstances to the agent on the phone who basically said there was nothing he could do because the October Bill wasn’t paid. So I said I can make payment for whatever was past due, his response was that he could not help me because of a history of missed payments. Now we’d never missed a payment in 15 years till the one the was apparently due right when my wife passed away so how we have a history of missed payment baffles me and now I was stranded 4 hours away from home with no insurance.
I still have not received any kind of notice of cancellation, in the mail or via email. Gee. Thanks Allstate, I wasn’t really in good hands. An any account a call to Geico from the Dealer got me on the spot insurance for 40% less than what I’d been paying Allstate.
Ripoff
I am a new All State Customer. I bought my new auto insurance policy on the 15th of May 2012 which is valid till 15th of Nov 2012. I am having issues with them from the day one. I spoke to person called ** at Allstate at 10.45pm on the 05/15/2012. She offered me a policy for $463.78 and I authorized her for one time payment for that amount, i.e., $463.78. Then the problem starts very next day. $571.44 were deducted from my account. I called Allstate to talk to them about the issue. I had to make couple of calls but nothing worked so I had to complain and called the manager.
He went through the conversation between me and ** the very first conversation and he apologize to me for their mistake and refund the overcharged money $107.66 on the 05/29/2012. The money not only over charged but also wrong information was involved. I was little satisfied by thinking of the fact that human makes mistakes but it was something else. They deleted all the voice conversation we have had and want me to pay them back those $107.66 back.
Spoke to the supervisor in charge of their inquiry department **. All she has to say is I have to pay the remaining balance for them to keep my policy validated. I am really upset. It’s not only cheating but hurting somebody emotionally and also a criminal offense to withdraw money from someone’s account without authorization. I am not willing to pay and this is just the starting. I am willing to take this further.
Why Pay Premiums if They Make You Pay Anyway!
I have had my insurance with Allstate for 12 years, without an accident, multiple cars, homeowners and renters insurance. My daughter gets into an accident and the car gets totaled. Might I add, I was not given a choice. They said there was no way to fix it. They allowed me to choose the collision center and said it would not matter. NOW, they are saying since I chose the collision center and they do not accept the charges, they are taking it out of my settlement for the car!
I was told they would cover these charges and now they do not want to pay. I am not sure what I have been paying premiums for if I have to pay for everything! They cheated me, and if this review changes your mind about Allstate. I want to call/email them and tell them that you changed your mind about them because of Claim # **. I want them to know they just did not lose one customer for what they have done.
Allstate Said They Would Cover My Rental Car and Did Not Cover It!
My car was parked in my work parking lot and was hit by someone with Allstate Insurance. Allstate assured me they would pay for my rental car while it was in the shop. After I returned the rental car, they said they were not going to cover all of it. I had to pay part of the repairs for my car and $222.14 to Enterprise for my rental car. I would have found other means to get around had I known I was going to have to pay. I will never recommend Allstate Insurance to anyone. Claim # **.
Poor Rates
I had Allstate home and auto insurance for three years. Each year my rates went up for no reason. I had never filed a claim for home or auto. In those three years I received only one safe driving check for $19 and when I questioned the agency I was told they would look into it but they never contacted me. I have now changed my insurances to a competitor and received much better coverage and at much lower rates. Allstate lies! I warn everyone I can to never insure with Allstate. This company has no integrity whatsoever.
Allstate Is Crap. Bottom Line You Are Not in Good Hands.
My vehicle was in an accident. The police stated the other driver was found 100% at fault at the scene. I contacted Allstate and talked to my adjuster who informed me that I was 20% neglect and I was also at fault. Really, what the heck, really. Bottom line you are not in good hands. Allstate is crap. If you are reading this then do not use Allstate as your insurance company.
Allstate Insurance Screwed Me Over With Hurricane Harvey
I am a customer of a homeowner policy from Allstate. Unfortunately, I was hit by Hurricane Harvey and my roof was totaled. Allstate personnel had led me to believe that my roof would be covered in such an event. Instead, my policy was based on a cash value premise, meaning that my roof was considered older and only worth 40 cents on the dollars. Combined with my deductible, Allstate basically did not pay but only a few hundred dollars on my new $10,000 roof.
Basically, Allstate sells inferior insurance policies which have coverage gaps that you can drive a truck through. I spoke with 1/2 dozen Allstaters up the chain of command. All I heard was how sorry they were. That did not pay the bill. So much for the “good hands people”. When you see these guys coming for you with their good hands, hide your wallets. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. I WOULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS IF I COULD. Buyer Beware.
You Are NOT in Good Hands With Allstate!!!
On 6/23/13 my husband and I returned home to find that our lawn mower & trailer had been stolen from our front yard. We contacted the local authorities and filed a claim with our homeowners insurance. The value of the property taken was $3200. It took over a week to finally get in touch with the Allstate Claim adjuster assigned to our case. We conducted our interview, and was advised they would contact us back that day with the settlement.
When we heard back from them, we were told that we would be receiving $328.11 (after our $1000 deductible) for the trailer, and that the lawn mower would not be covered because I used it to mow my vacant lot, and my 67 year old widowed/disabled mother’s yard (land I will inherit upon her death). I contacted my insurance agent, and he advised that the lawn mower should be covered, and contacted the adjuster himself. His response back to me was that he had gone “round and round” with the adjuster only to get the same response I was already given.
I appealed and was told by the Allstate Claims management department that because that my policy states that “motorized land vehicles will only be covered if they are used solely for the premises”. I told him that upon signing my policy with my agent, when ask if I owned any other premises, I advised I owned a piece of land in a residential neighborhood, and the agent advised me that didn’t matter as you cannot insure land with no dwelling on it, the premises in question was referring to any other dwelling.
I advised I did not own any other homes. He chose the policy, and wrote the coverage. I am just NOW learning that there are apparently different types of homeowner’s policies. The Allstate Claims management team very rudely advised they would do nothing further to help me with this situation, and that I could contact the Department of Insurance or anyone I chose to, but the case was closed on their end.
I did take their advice and contacted the Department of Insurance, as well as Better Business Bureau advising that Allstate’s advertisement of “being in good hands” is false. I am in no better hands than the thief that came and took our property. The only difference is that I paid Allstate to rob me, making me feel even more violated. I would NOT recommend this company as they do not stand behind their advertisement claims, and they have been very unwilling to help me rectify this situation. Let me also say that I have never received a copy of my homeowner’s policy, yet I’m the one being punished for someone else’s mistake!!
Perhaps You Should Ask First?
I’ve had my homeowners insurance with Allstate since 1999. In the winter of 2010 I had ice damage to my roof which caused it to leak. It took MONTHS to get someone here to look at the problem. This young man said most of the damage was “old”… well, yes, yes it was because it took them months to get someone here. Forget that, whatever. I wasn’t home the day he came, I was working. My disabled Mother lives with me and was here. She thought he was a nice kid… seemed to be good at checking things out.
Shortly after that I received a letter dated 10-14-11 stating they were going to cancel my homeowner’s policy due to “debris” on my porch and I should respond by 1-24-13. I wasn’t too worried, this man (I refuse to say gentleman because what I’d like to call him isn’t kind) didn’t bother to ask what things were… didn’t bother to ask why my bicycle is kept on the porch (I’ve no garage, just trying to keep it a bit out of the weather) or didn’t bother to ask why recycle items were on the porch. (I work all week and we don’t have pickup, I can only go to The Dump on Saturday). I figured within the next 14 months I’d respond and it would be fine.
Today I receive a letter dated 3-1-12 stating they are going to cancel my policy on 4-23-12… eight MONTHS before I was even required to respond. To say I’m upset about this is putting it mildly. I’ve my homeowner’s ins. (paid until 2013), and 2 cars with Allstate. I’ve never had an accident. Now some kid comes to my home months after I requested someone and does something like this without asking me, the homeowner, any questions. Please make note I listed Portsmouth, NH because my agent is there (who I’ve always thought was wonderful) but I live in Kittery, ME.
No Coverage Now That I Need it.They Told Me I Didn't Need It When I Bought the House
I have been an Allstate customer since 1992. Both for cars and my home. When I bought this home, I went over the policy with my agent at the time. One of the concerns was flood insurance. The area around me had actually gone through extensive flooding while the closing was in place. We live close to the river that leads into Lake Erie. My agent at the time told me I didn’t need flood insurance due to the proximity of where my home was to the lake. With that advice, I didn’t purchase flood insurance.
Most recently our area was devastated with heavy rains that lasted for hours upon hours. Many homes got flooded. Our area didn’t get the backed up sewers and standing water. But what some of us got was water coming into our basements from the foundation. That’s what happened to my home. The foundation couldn’t handle all the water. My basement was flooded. Many things were lost and had to be thrown away.
So I called Allstate. I got a letter stating I didn’t have flood insurance and wasn’t covered. After days of thinking about it, I started to realize we didn’t really get flooded here at all. It was a foundation issue that caused water backup. So I made another claim. I was called by Allstate that they were sending an adjuster to my home. With this, I assumed they realized my situation and was going to compensate me for the damages. So the agent came and took many pictures… all the while knowing I wasn’t going to get any help. Why take all the pictures, go throughout my house looking around only to then tell me they can’t help me? That’s what infuriates me.
They wasted my time and their time to tell me exactly what they already did previously. So now my next concern here. I was told by someone in the waterproofing business that once your home gets water in it, that there is a trail that was made and the water will come in again. So now, if it was to come in again, before I had the funds to have all the paneling taken down and replaced, that once again I’m not covered? This is a terrible way to handle the situation the way it was.
Allstate has done me bad… just like they did with my car insurance in 2007. A letter at that time was sent out to me apologizing for the mix up and they realized what they did. I should have dropped my home insurance at that time but did not. I’m sure at this time I will.
Allstate No Service, No Concern, No Empathy
but don’t be late on your premiums.
Slow Claim Response After a Loss
After a micro-storm hit Henderson in July, this insurance company took six long months to repair the damage and all was not repaired. It was a nightmare dealing with the claims department and the adjusters and even had to request a new adjuster to get anything done.
27 light poles were knocked down and we had no electricity for four days. A large tree located in a neighbors yard knocked down our block wall, the roof was so bad that when it was touched it fell apart and the neighbors tin shed blew into our back yard. A palo verde tree was uprooted in our front yard as was a pine tree in our back yard. They did not cover either tree. I would not recommend this company to anyone. You are not in good hands with Allstate.
Wrongful Insurance
I am writing my review due to getting a call from our Mortgage Company per their annual audit, telling us that we had to either drop Allstate and come up with another insurance company for our home or they would find one for us! I went into our Mortgage company with all my paper work saying why is this so and what is going on. She was very nice and contacted Allstate for me and the gal at Allstate said they do not insure “Post and Pier” homes, and if something were to go wrong they would not pay for any loss to our home no matter what our agent said.
The reason this came about is because the Allstate agent lied and said our house isn’t part POST and PIER. I asked the gal, “Wait a minute what are you doing?” She said “don’t worry about it” which it is a lie in the end, because when we bought our house only a few companies will insure this style of home in our state.
I’m pretty peeved because our Allstate clearly said they don’t insure Post and Pier when our agent said they did. I feel like we wasted money on nothing. I have complaint to our states insurance commissioner about this. People wonder why nobody trust insurance companies. This is why they lie and lie some more just to get your money.
We are back with our old homeowners insurance company and I’m very happy to say it may cost more, at least my husband and I both know we are “GOOD HANDS” with whom we have. Word to the wise, always double check facts on who and what, when it comes to homeowners.
Solicitation Misrepresentation
I received a solicitation letter in the mail inviting me to contact them for a quote. The letter was addressed to me at my current address and contained accurate information about my home. The letter also had a breakdown of coverages that was close to matching my current coverage.
I spoke to the sale manager and she emailed me a quote for coverage. It was over 300% higher than the original letter I received and $600.00/year higher than my current coverage. When I called her back, she was unable to explain why the quote was 300% higher than the original letter I received. I feel that this company is engaging in a program of misrepresentation by sending unrealistic solicitations.
Don't Get Groped by the Good Hands of Allstate
Due to living in CT and experiencing 1) the snowiest winter in record in 2011; 2) a hurricane in August; and 3) a freak blizzard in Oct (in 2011) my insurance premiums went up by 50% due to weather/storm related claims. Allstate says it can’t do anything, and my snide arrogant agent said that I had to stay with Allstate because no other insurance company would insure my house. Then he said that I should never have filed the claims to begin with.
What, he could not tell me that when I called the office to file the claims? END RESULT IS THAT I WILL BE GROPED BY THE GOOD HANDS OF ALLSTATE FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS. BUY INSURANCE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY!!
How To Get Help On A Homeowner's Insurance Claim?
We just recently had a leak in our kitchen – turns out it was a busted water pipe behind the kitchen cabinet wall. I understand that the insurance company does not cover faulty plumbing but will cover damage caused by the water leak. We had to turn water off to our house, otherwise we would be living in a river. We can’t use our kitchen at all, nor can we take a shower, wash up, or flush the toilet. Allstate offered to reimburse us for our meals and mileage (as we live 45 miles to the closest establishment).
The right thing for Allstate to do is put us up in a hotel since our home is considered “non-usable,” especially with 2 disabled adults – driving 45 miles each way, three times per day, is really not feasible. First, I’d like to know why Allstate has refused to put us up in a hotel room? I understand about not paying to fix the plumbing, but because of structural repair and lack of use in the home, this should be covered by insurance. Why would they pay for our meals and mileage but not a hotel room? Isn’t that the same concept?
Second, I do not believe that the adjuster has any idea what he is talking about (and our agent sure has no clue), so who should I contact in Allstate to solve this problem? In the meanwhile, I am sitting in a home with a kitchen that is partially demolished and have no access to water. Do I have a good case to take to an attorney?
Denied claim that Farmers would have paid
I had a water leak while out of town and Allstate said my housemates should have caught it. They weren’t listed on the policy so the claim was denied. I switched to Farmers and tried to give the names of my housemates upon buying the insurance and they said that wasn’t necessary as they are not owners or on the mortgage.
