On February 16, 2008, I dined at a participating KFC located on 139 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola, NY ,only to discover that an illegitimate towing company, by the name Als Towing claimed to be hired from the above mentioned KFC, blocked my vehicle in the KFC parking lot. There was no opportunity to explain to the driver the situation that he threatened to tow my vehicle away (which wasn’t even hooked to the tow truck) unless I paid $150.00 in cash; such amount was paid. Numerous attempts have been made to convince the local and regional office of KFC to cooperate in this matter by giving certain information of the towing company, such as, the exact name and address of the individual that operates such towing company, but such attempts have been unsuccessful. Therefore, if a legimate contract between KFC and the towing company was established, there is no reason to withhold such information from the consumer. The location of the towing company doesn’t even exist. They apparently also operate under the name Highway Towing & Company, telephone number 516-766-6180. Carmelina Bellmore, New YorkU.S.A.
