Watch out for this company. Earlier this year I had donnated $100 to this so-called charity before reading an article on how owners of these types of busniess are making millions for themselves with little going to the handicapped person / sollicitor. In November of this year, I got a call from the same handicapped person asking for an additional $100. My response, was I could not afford $100 but could send $10. This was not enough, so I committed to $50. I received the gift cards in the middle of December, but did not oppen the package. January 1st, 2018 I received a bill from AH&DW, Inc for $51.50 followed up by a phone call from the company stating that I owned the 50 and will be charged a 1.50 late fee every month untilled paid. In addition, they do not accept the material sent even if unopened. I will attempt to return the gift cards (un-opened) anyway. Just got off the phone with the suppervisor. She stated that her company is a business not a non-profit. I am doing more research, but as of now, the company’s tactis do not please me and I will hold off making a contribution until I feel comfortable as to where the money is going.
