In 2018 we went to the Occidential in Aruba for a vacation. While we were there we were approached by a salesman selling timeshares. At the moment it sounded good. We were told that they would buy it back from you, if you don’t want it anymore. Well we decided we did not want it anymore. Contacted the contacts that were provided. At that moment, everything that was told to us became a lie. We were told we had to contact a company in Florida, Timeshare resale. They were more than happy to help, had to pay $699.00 to list it with them. They also said some more convincing things that lead you to believe they were a reputable company. They assured me that this would sell in no time because of it’s location, Aruba. I would receive a missed call from the company. If I did not have caller ID, I would have never known they called. This went on for over a year, finally I called them and said, ” I want my money back”, the response I got was, you can’t get it back we used it to advertise your timeshare. Meanwhile it now becomes the second year and now the maintenance fees are due $1000.00. We are now out $20,000.00, they would not even take it back even with us paying it off. They insisted we continue to pay maintenance fees for this unit. They were in a position to refund some of the money and sell the unit. It is sad, they don’t have any respect for their customers. I loved Aruba, but I would never go back to the Occidential Aruba. They are not a reputable company that I would recommend my family or friends to vacation at this resort. A very dissatisfied customer.
