I want to share the bitter experience that I had with Ashland Auction Group. I was not aware of the fact that Ashland Auction Group bids against you to drive up the prices until I witnessed myself. I was successfully trapped by them during my first experience of the auction and faced a huge financial loss. This is, in fact, a cheating game at their part. As, without examining the interior of the home, you can not be sure of what you are going to purchase. Therefore, before the last auction a few months back, I was lucky enough to enter one house before the auction. A local real estate company allowed me to see the house from inside, and I got the opportunity to note that one of the interior walls was damaged, there was a smell of stagnant water, broken TV pieces, dirty clothes, broken tables on the floor. The equipment of the washroom and kitchen was also damaged. I went on the roof (above the kitchen) and found the ceiling was thin like boiled bread. Then I estimated renovations and thought I could handle a little drywall, cleaning, and plumbing jobs myself. Just before the auction of that house, I thought to see the house one more time. So, I called the real estate agent for the visit but this time he refused by saying that the bank gave them instructions not to allow anyone in the house because it was a “private property”. Anyhow, I did put a bid on the property, but I did not go too high because of the repairs needed. On the auction day, the house was not sold due to the low amount of bids and no one was ready to challenge Ashland group’s bid. later, they told me it would be “re-registered” for auction. This was not the case, the Ashland Auction Group could not get the bid price they were looking for so they altogether cancelled the auction. They do not want you to know the condition of the house before bidding and keep you in the dark. They do not intend to disclose the important information about the items being auctioned which is also against the rules of the game as well.
A similar situation was faced by my friend who also gave them negative reviews. Ashland Auction Group suspended the auction result of the house he won at the auction, after seven weeks. After the cancellation, he also trusted them that his money will be returned by Ashland Auction Group but it never happened and he had to face the loss of his bidding money. Their customer service is terrible at all degrees of management. Try not to waste your time with this organization. Please be careful these people are not honest and trustworthy. As a final thought, I would strongly recommend, please do not jump over to purchases instantly, if you come across any lucrative discounted offers by auction companies and never thought of Ashland Auction Group. Its always better to be on the safe side without indulging into a messy deal that has no return policy.
