Thanks to the guys at Audi Lafayette, I will not be buying a new car anytime soon, the experience there was so traumatic, I’m afraid it might repeat with another dealer, so I’ll keep taking the bus for a few more years.
And for anyone reading, I’ll leave my experience here. I was involved in a terrible car accident a couple years ago, and the Optra I was driving ended up like a pile of overprized tin. I had a hard time driving a car again, so I waited a while before getting a new one. Around 3 months ago, on August, I decided it was time to get a new car, a good one that would make me feel safe, my first choice was an Audi and thus, I went to the closest dealer to get one.
My first time there, I met Jim, he was nice and let me have my way looking at the cars, I was a bit tired that day, so I decided to go home and take my decision cold headed. For some reason, Jim thought that this meant he had wasted his time with me, and didn’t let me go until I had listened to every insult he had thought for me. I came over the next day, not to purchase a car but to file a formal complaint against that man, unfortunately, that was his last day working there, so I couldn’t complaint anymore. I let it go and ask for another salesperson who can show me the car I was interested in, I told him about my accident while we were test driving and he seemed pretty normal. These people don’t seem to have a clear standard for their employees, the 2 salespersons who treated me were insane and had no idea how to treat a customer, especially one that was willing to spend thousands in just one car.
This second guy started playing some heavy pranks on me on the way back to the shop, he would say things like “watch out for the trucks” or “keep your eyes on the road, you wouldn’t want to have another accident”, I couldn’t believe those words were actually coming out of his mouth. I almost had a panic attack after we arrived, that was definitely not a good place to buy a car, and I should’ve learned after what happened with Jim.
I went straight to the manager’s to put up a complaint against these men, he patiently listened to what I had to say, but instead of filing the complaint or handing me a form or anything, he chuckled and excused the second salesperson saying that they were just jokes, comments he did to make me laugh. Was I supposed to be laughing of my near-death experience with some estranger? That was just too much for me, the manager ended up being as horrible as his employees. After that, I just dropped the idea of getting a new car, and don’t think I will be getting one anytime soon.
