Checked www.giveawayoftheday.com/ as I do frequently for great deals and found BoostSpeed. I had reviewed this program several times but could not afford to purchase. To my surprise it was available for free so I downloaded it. It worked perfectly and cleaned up my PC with no problems. I was overjoyed. Had I known it was so good I would have found a way to buy it? Anyway, several days later I thought I would use the program again. When I opened it, the program created a popup stating that an update was available. As this is very common in the internet I thought nothing about it and clicked yes. To my surprise it removed my free registered copy and replaced with a limited trial copy that performed only some of the functions but could be unlimited if I purchased a key. I had already had a key but it was not longer valid. I contacted Boostspeed and from my gmail here is what they had to say… Dear Ed, I am really sorry you experienced problems with the promotional copy of our software. According to the offer conditions, the GiveAwayOfTheDay license key could only be activated once and only on the day when the GiveAwayOfTheDay special offer took place. It could also only be used with the program version received from the GiveAwayOfTheDay website, no updates or upgrades to future versions included. I am sorry, but the promotion has ended and the promotional key cannot be activated at this time. However, we would like you to be able to keep using the software, so we’d like to offer you a 20% discount code for a new BoostSpeed 7 license. To get the program by the discount price please, use the link:secure.avangate.com/order/checkout.php?QTY=1&CART=1&CARD=2&PRODS=4619388&COUPON=AFD88702&ORDERstyle=nLXK45SpjH4= Thank you very much for understanding and your support of Auslogics products! Seems to me if it was a legimate deal the upgrade pop-up would not happen to the free copy users. By alloing the upgrade/update Auslogics could kill the free copies. Rip-off!
