We have been using Auto Repair Centre, Inc. for along time! We have the oil changed, tires rotated, and routine maintenance done on our Mercedes E320. The last time they rotated our tires was in Aug of 2003. I recently noticed a tire going bad on the pass side front of the car. I tried to change the tire to put the spare tire on, but could not get one of the lug nuts off the car! Auto Repair Centre, Inc over torqued this lug nut, and it would not come loose! I took the car to two different shops close to where I work. They couldn’t get it off either! They recommended I take the car back to the shop that did the rotation! I did that yesterday morning on 1/20/2004. The shop called me at work to tell me they could not get it off, and that it would have to be cut with a torch! This would have ruined the wheel for sure! Of course they notified me that they don’t work for free, and that I would have to pay them! They would not hear my side of the story at all! I worked as a mechanic, and have worked on cars for many years. If I over torqued a lug nut like they did I would fix it for free! They refused to take any responsibility for their own actions, and denied any help whatsoever! I went to get the car from them, and upon my arrival I noticed the end of the lug bolt was completely twisted off! They still would not help unless I paid them! In this situation, there was no way the wheel could come off the car! I took the car to Kramers Auto and Electric, (561) 368 8474 great people and great shop! Andy who runs the shop got the wheel off the car! He had to spend over 1hr and destroy his die grinder to get the lug nut! Of course Andy is not going to work for free, especially when he wasn’t the one who over torqued the lug in the first place! All I wanted was for Auto Repair Centre, Inc. to correct their mistake! That is not too much to ask!!! So now I have paid Kramers to repair this, and I want reimbursed for the repair period! I know right from wrong, and this is not right!
