AZALEA AUTO TEC ON N. MILITARY HWY IN NORFOLK,VA

Called the owner of this shop this morning to get a price on a specific repair. He said to bring my car in so he could check and be sure thats the problem. Get the car there he asks for the keys …checks the car out. Owner gives me an estimate of over $400.00. I called another shop I know a little ways away and the guy asks “Have those people at Azalea Auto Repair lost their minds? That complete job should be no more than $280.” I informed the owner I could not pay that cost and my car would need to be towed out of there. THATS when he decides to inform me of a diagnostic fee of $75 that I would have to pay before I could move my vehicle. I said why didnt you tell me that over the phone or even once I got here so I could make the decision on what to do? His only half a*s reply was “We werent doing it last year, we just started it this year and I have customers all over that know”. I asked what does that have to do with you telling ME?? He shook his head and hunched his shoulders. I called the police to the shop. Even the officer said you’d think he’d let it go this one time to keep a customer. Its a civil matter so its not much to do the owner wants you to do a promissory note on the $75 payment so you can sign it just to get your car today and go to court to recoup the fee. I said all this Christian music playing on outside speakers and signs of “Our Lord” all in the office DONT MEAN JACK! there all Devils in this shop. Out for what they can get by all means necessary. All he had to do was inform me FIRST so I could make my own choice. THIEVES.
