A few days ago I placed an online order with Banana Republic with a rush delivery and all seemed fine. The next day nothing arrived and upon checking my account I noticed the order was marked as Cancelled. So like anyone else would I resubmitted the order with assurances it would arrive the next day. Upon placing the order I noticed it was immediately cancelled. I thought perhaps I made a spelling error and went to my account on Scotiabank’s website and to my dismay I noticed 800 dollars in Banana Republic charges for the two orders. Upon emailing since calling resulted in literally hours of waiting only to be hung up on I was told I would not be refunded. They gave no reason as for this and so upon many angry emails and calls and being told I would not be refunded I contacted my bank. Banana Republic did not cooperate and so I will wait a month for Scotiabank to investigate. Absolutely disgusting experience after being a loyal customer. This is absolutely fraudulent behavior and I have already returned every single item from this company that I still could. DO NOT shop here and if you do go in store, but even then be wary. I have never had such terrible service, any respectful company would cooperate and help me, yet they did not and instead insulted me and ignored emails. Good bye Banana Republic, I only wish I could use profanity in this review.

Banana Republic cut my credit limit from 2900 to 200. I can no longer buy anyting there. I have good credit. This seems unfair to me, but it just means I will not shop there. They rae a company that makes their money by selling a product – CLOTHING! Not supposedly by credit card late fees. I have always paid my balance off in full. I dont” understand this, as they seem to have lowered customer”s limits so low that they wil not shop there. I certainly won”t anymore. So they are trying to sell clothing in a tough economy and are doing so by actually throwing away their customers. Shooting oneself in the foot, it seems. Stupid idiots. Banana Republic Rips-off their best Luxe card customers by sending fraudulent notices of one day sales. They offered 40% OFF on June 19, 2010 on full priced items on line to their charge customers. They have trained their on line customers to believe that Old Navy, Gap, B/R, Piperlime and Athleta are all the same brands as they are linked together. Their advertising stated Banana Republic items on sale but DID NOT SPECIFICALLY mention that their other brands were NOT included in this one day on line sale. This is fraudulent and deceiving advertising. Assumptions were made to their customers and not specifically spelled out in their post card mailer and emails. THIS IS A RIP-OFF, SHAME on you Banana Republic advertising.

Banana Republic sent me an email on informing me that my order with them would be delivered using [protected]@Home . Two days after the latest delivery date shown on BR’s email I still have no delivery. I called Banana Republic to find that it had in fact been delivered to a “James in Flat 2” THREE DAYS AGO! I’m certainly not James and I live in completely different block to Flat 2! I do not know a James in my block or in any other block and do not recall leaving instructions for my parcel to be left with a neighbour. Shockingly this is not the first time I have had something intended for me left at a random neighbour’s flat. I had absolutely no idea until the lady kindly rang my buzzer the evening of the delivery to give me my parcel. I did not know her at all as she lived in a completely different block and had no access to mine! The behaviour of couriers is lazy, fraudulent and shocking. Why would they 1) leave the parcel with someone else and 2) accept a signature that is clearly not the intended recipient. I have contacted DHL but am as yet to hear from them. Doubt it. Lazy, fraudulent scums.

Cashier refused to take my money! I went to one of the Banana Republic shops and wanted to buy something. But when I was just about to pay cashier asked for my ID! I asked what for did she need it and she said that she cannot take my money until I provide my ID. Total nonsense! I just wanted to buy a dress so why on earth they needed my ID? Dear team at Banana Republic, I am deeply disappointed with my customer experience with you. My order: #TH4DNQ7 Country of Residence: Netherlands 1.) Firstly, I subscribed to your website with a promise I would get a discount/promo code for “first time subscribers” on fully priced items. 2.) I followed your instructions and waited 24 hours for your email with the promo code. 3.) When purchasing the item the next day (fully-priced), the promo code you sent me did not work. 4.) Frustrated with this, I called up your services and spoke to a public relations representative on August 1st who tried to apply the same promo code sent and did not work. 5.) Your PR representative placed the order on my behalf with my credit card details over the phone (with my consent obviously). I gave him detailed information on the item I wanted: 12-Hour Pump – Madison – Black Suede – size UK 5, 5 = EU 38, 5. (Shoe size was checked several times on the phone to avoid confusion). 6.) When I received the shoes, to my surprise the item was INCORRECT. Two mistakes: On my order confirmation email it stated that I had ordered size UK 8 which I never did, and you actually sent me the shoes on size 10. So this shows how faulty your online delivery system/services is. 7.) On your website it currently now states that the shoes (on my size) are actually out of stock. 8.) I called your services once again regarding this issue and nothing was done. I was told I can return the shoes and receive a courtesy for a next time buy on your website. Also no information on when the shoes would be in stock again. 9.) Now, I have to pay for the return costs back to the UK from the Netherlands after all this work caused by your mistakes. 10.) Why would I ever want to purchase anything from you again? Your solution does nothing to the customer and frankly does not make me want to return to you. Very disappointing !!!

During my in store purchase at Banana Republic, the cashier persuaded me to get a Banana Card. He convinced me it’s a one time deal. Shortly after, I spotted a rather noticeable hole in the cashmere sweater. So, I went to a BR store at another location. Instead of returning it on the card, they claimed that since I took off the tag, the product can only be refunded via an in-store card that will be mailed to me (never heard of this before). Mind you I never wore the item, I had a receipt, and I returned it shortly after the purchase. About 30 days past, I never received the mailed in-store card, the Banana Card I signed up for, or the billing statement for the card. I called and they said they will mail it again within 10 days. Now I was issued a late fee for my billing statement, and I still don’t even have the card. I had to speak with customer service for over an hour to dispute the late fee and have them reissue the statement to my address. As a result though, I’m not even going to use the card again. I really do hate in-store credit cards. I believe they are just a runaround to make more money, had I not disputed. Thanks BR for your complicated processes.

Every time I stop by at this location is always mess in sale section. HUUUUge mess. Clothes on floor, wrong sizing, different style hangers on same items, etc, etc, etc. It is not just discusting, it is simply not safe. Once, very nice and professionally looking sale support associate apologized for the mess, tried to pick up some clothes from the floor same time helping me to find a jacket, but was called to somewhere else. Seems like, even sales people feel sorry, but no managers. The managers, who are responsible for merchandise presentation in this store, should do a better job. This is not an organized store. Comparable to other BR stores around, particularly dowtown location, Bellevue store is much worse. Just wondering who is hiring unprofessional and not detail-oriented managers?

Her name is Destiny Tompkins & she works at the Banana Republic in Weschester Mall, in White Plains, Ny 10601. This is utterly disgusting for any human being in today”s day to go through, especially in America “the land of the free”. Discriminating employees based on their appearance is illegal, and very disappointing to be happening in such a well known retail chain like yours. I am a long time customer and many dollar customer of Banana Republic. I REALLY like their styles in clothing and they fit me will. HOWEVER, the fabric pulled away at the pocket of my THIRD pair of jeans from BR after the second or third time I wore them. Unfortunately for me, I did not wear these jeans too often and the defect was only visible at the 5 month mark since purchase. The time element for me to run around to the store, then to be told to call the toll-free customer service number for support; where then the toll-free service rep said to go to the store; then at the store to be rejected again for being past the 30 day mark; then call the toll-free again who said “any workmanship issue over any time is replaced;” then go to the store to be told it WASN’T a defect by the store (after an previous subtle acknowledgement that it was indeed)…took a long time! Wasn’t a defect…huh. I am not overweight, the fabric is obviously pulling away on its own while wearing normally (a.k.a. not torn), the label tag strings are still attached, no wear-n-tear, they look nearly new…huh…not a defect. In the end, I was blown off big time. BR showed zero interest in supporting. The toll-free guy told me to go to other stores until one of them helped me. Nice. I like driving around complaining about jeans, because I have nothing better to do with my life! I just want to quickly buy something from a company that stands behind their work…not one that lets my behind be unwillingly exposed. I don’t even care if I get this pair replaced anymore, nor do I want a credit. Keep your scammed dollars BR! I have several jeans and life will go on. But, this pair of jeans was crap. I am angry and insulted at the inference that somehow I’m responsible. If I could stand in front of the store for days showing every customer my jeans so they could at least be warned and make up their own mind by seeing my pair; that would be a good thing. I probably won’t be wearing the defective pair in front of the store, but that would make a great point. It’s fine if you purchase poor quality jeans from a major discount store…there are expectations. I paid, what I consider, a higher dollar for the look and quality of these jeans and I expected more. My kids wreak havoc for years in cheap discount store jeans, but these, you can’t sit down in for fear of separating the fabric! I am shocked at the support and I’m too busy in life to spend any more time whining about jeans to this blog, but more so to wasting time with a useless dance with Banana Recraplic. I have a credit card from BR that I will soon cancel. I will take my clothing shopping elsewhere. I am done whining…please heed my advice…If you like the look of BR clothes, buy that look elsewhere unless you are getting a deal! I am writing an compliant about my displeased experiences shopping at banana republic at Foxwoods store 1438. I walked in feeling unwelcome which was never the case. Then I found out there”s a new management, the store was a mess. The manager just stood in front of the store staring me down, making me extremely uncomfortable. I could hear her yelling at employees to get cards. When I was ready to check out, the employee constantly asked me to get a card when I already had a gap card I was going to use and it was annoying because I told them no already and they kept pushing as the card is all the care about. Under old management I always had employees come up to me and tell me about sales, ask if I need help, etc. I also had good relationship with some of the employees there, and I also found out they all quit or transferred because of the new management. The worst part was the manager was extremely rude to the employees and also me, as a customer. I was told to leave if I don”t want to get a card. It is absolutely ridiculous and disgusting to see banana republic turn into something like that.

I attempted to return dress shirts to a Banana Republic store in Indianapolis, IN within two weeks of purchasing them. The shirts had never been worn and had the original tags on them. The CSR at the store refused to accept the return, saying that the shirts were too wrinkled for him to resell. This was shocking since the shirts had not even been removed once from the bag; the CSR on the original date of sale had crammed them into the bag which resulted in the wrinkling. In writing to Banana Republic’s complaint email, they said my only option was to go to another Banana Republic store and have another manager evaluate the merchandise. Considering that option would mean I would have to drive 150 miles each way, that is not feasible. They have offered no apology and keep repeating their return policy in their responses. Needless to say, I have canceled my BR Luxe credit card (which means I have purchased a lot of clothing from them in the past) and will never again buy any merchandise from any of their affiliated retailers.

I bought a few items at banana republic factory Forest Hills, NY. I used my bank’s credit card to pay for these items. After I paid a friend of a cashier chased after me to sell her domains at Godaddy.com, which I had no business with. So I refused to do so. She sounded like it was connected to banana republic’s credit card. A few days later an authorized charge showed up on my credit card bill. It seems that the cashier there was passing my credit card information to her friend to steal. I will never use credit cards again at this store. I recommend other shoppers to do the same. Don’t use your credit card at this store.

I had gone in as I was buying an item. I was told to use my reward I had to use their credit card. I told the rep my car was broken into and my wallet stolen, and I had canceled card but not yet received the replacement. He said he could look it up. He tried but said there wasn”t a replacement sent. He proceeded to have me fill in something online. It said they would run credit and I told him I didn”t want a hard inquiry. He said it was just the same as them replacing the card. It wouldn”t be a hard pull. A day later, I get the card he said I wouldn”t in the mail. I call lots of people, 5 calls, hold for 15 min twice. All of a sudden I find out the card I got was the replacement, and there was a hard pull on credit and I am getting another. The manager said nothing they can do to make it right. Offered me nothing. This is a poor experience, and misrepresentation of my credit being pulled and now I have to call and cancel one which isn”t good for credit either! I work in a bank… Too. Be cautious what you are told.

I just got off the phone with BR cutomer service who refused to help me at all. I was polite and told them I was trying to use a gift card, gave them the gift card # but the card was scratched and I could not read the reference # they wanted. They said they could not help me that I had to go to a store. I stated that I am handicapped and could not get to a store that I had to do all shoppping online & could they please help me – look up the gift card # for the amount – something!! NO, NO NO -I tried to get a supervisor and they refused to let me speak to one. Then I asked for a name and number for a supervisor and they said they cannot give out that number. Is there a big secret about who works for this *** company! Lastly, I tried to cancel my order that I had just placed & was told they will put in a request but they can’t guarantee it will be cancelled. I guess they are just rolling in money in this weak economy. No one even asked if there was anything they could do to keep my business. They could care less that they just lost a client that used to spend thousands of dollars with them. Glad to see business is so good for them!!

I made an online purchase at banana republic (I shop here all the time) and received a different item than I ordered. I was upset that I had to drag my kid in the cold weather to the North Brunswick store (not the usual store I visit), but the only one 25 mins away that had the top that I wanted and had ordered. Nothing it would be an easy exchange nothing prepared me for the racist, rude and horrifying experience that the manager Heather put me through. She said something about the receipt not matching the item (of course it wouldn’t match since the wrong item was shipped to me) and made me feel like [censor] for trying to return an item that was an error on BR’s part in the first place and made me wait for over 30 minutes!!! Your managers and store staff are the face of your company, please make sure you’ll hire the right customer oriented people!!! Will never visit that store and if I have another bad experience will completely stop shopping at BR.

I ordered a dress online in mid March. It came quickly enough. I didn’t care for it so I contacted BR to get a return label printed and put the item in the UPS drop box on March 27th. I called BR on 4/4/18 to confirm receipt of item, and was told the dress had been received by them on 3/30/18 but had not been processed. I then received a PAST DUE ALERT email from my BR Visa card account on 4/24/18. I called the number on that email immediately and was told that there had been a two week delay (this was 3 weeks by now) in processing returns and to call the BR Visa card company on 5/1/18, which I did tonight, with having to deal with the incredible automated system that is determined not to let you talk to a live person without figuring out how to trick it first. Exasperated!!! I was told that they would waive the $25 late fee and the $2.14 finance charge that I had been charged on the latest bill from BR, for an item that I had returned more than a month ago, and that they would write a check to me after an investigation was done which could take up to 60 days!!! You’re kidding, right?! I asked them to call BR customer service to confirm the return but was told they could not do that. REALLY??? So, I called them myself to ask if they had record of the return. The rep put me on hold then told me she had given me credit for the item on my BR Visa card that would take 3-5 days to process. I told her I had not asked her to do that b/c now I have to jump through another hoop to get the BR credit card people to write me a check once the money is in my account, and that I had no intention of using my BR account again after being treated so unfairly after many years of being a loyal BR customer. To be honest, I don’t care for their clothing anymore anyway. SO frumpy!!! Not happy at all.

I purchased grey cashmere cardigan in Sep2009 at Banana Republic outlet store in Great Mall. However when I tried to wear it, the fabric sticks to my black cloths, bags, chairs, and everywhere. The fabric also flows in air and get to my eyes and it bothered me all day. I thought this is impossible to wear. So I tried to return it today (Nov2009), however the store didn’t accept. They said this is worn. I kept explaining them this is not worn. The casher guy said “There is nothing I can do about it because this looks worn. And no one has complained about the facric before”. Store manager said “I can’t talk to you anymore”. I think this is very rude and I even doubt Banana Republic’s quality of work. If the fabric sticks everywhere and may bother eyes, it should show signs about it. So shoppers are more aware of it. How should I prove that it is not worn? The cloth was for $65 plus tax; this is not cheap for me. I think they are disrespecting consumers. I think this is wrong.

I purchased these sneakers on 6/27/19. I wore the sneakers on Saturday evening 8/4/19. I unfortunately got caught in the rain so my sneakers became dirty. I decided to wash them alone and air dry them. I”m disappointed because when I pull them out of machine they were spectacularly white. I should have kept my Banana Republic Card and never switched over to the Visa card being managed by GE Capital. Nothing but issues and problems, including an inability of their customer service to link or look into the transactions that I had on my previous Banana Card to troubleshoot a double charge. Having the CSR on the opposite end stating “she thinks” this is where that erronious charge must have come from, didn’t exactly make me feel confident that the folks on the other end managing my money knew what they were doing. Dealing with a call center never helps – the CSR’s were rude and condescending and when I asked to speak to a manager, they actually refused and told me there was nothing they could do to help find out what the charge was. WOW – talk about lack of customer service. I used to charge all my expenses on this card, but after this experience, no more. NO value to me using this Visa issued by Banana for any other purchases other than Banana Republic purchases – it’s really too bad they made me switch from the regular Banana Republic card thinking there’d be value, since it’s been nothing but hassle dealing with the credit company in charge. You will get calls at all hours of the day from their credit arm harassing you for payment if you’re a few days late. Certainly not pleasant to deal with and has literally turned me off of using this card and charging ANYTHING. When I asked the process to cancle the Visa switch back to a regular card, the CSR said, you’ll have to reapply and go thru that process – no thanks. Banana Republic should be aware that their brand and image of an easy company to deal with is being tarnished by their credit card call center. I used to love shopping for their points and dollars back – now that perk’s not even worth it for me since I’d rather avoid dealing with their credit card company.

I think it’s the right time to say goodbye to this brand. Unfortunately, they became worse and I don’t want to deal with them anymore. I don’t know what exactly was a reason for them, Maybe they are in the middle of their own crisis, or maybe they changed the management, but the brand that used be a great one has changed and it’s sad. They now use cheap materials for clothes, it’s overpriced, the design is not for everyone, the choice of it is not wide anymore. I am very disappointed… 🙁

I tried ordering items online using my Banana Republic Lux card. At check out I kept getting an error message saying that my card information was incorrect. After checking and rechecking the card number I called customer service. The customer service person asked what the total was on the cart. It was about 118.00. She said “Well, that’s the problem. You are over your limit.” I said that’s impossible. I have a $1, 200 limit with no outstanding balance. In fact, I over paid on the last bill and had a $15.00 credit. She informed me that they were running credit checks on all of their card holders and readjusting their credit limits. Now, I have had this card for over 10 years. I have not only always paid on time, but I have always paid well over the minimum amount due or paid the entire balance off and I have never come anywhere near meeting the available credit limit. “So”, I said, “my history as a good paying customer doesn’t have any benefit?”. She said “no”. What a way to keep a customer. I immediately closed the account.
