I and my colleagues were discussing potential ideas for our company outing. After discarding many ideas, we all agreed on a brewery tour after I suggested the idea as it would be a fun and interesting way to spend our day together as a team. All of us started looking and one of my colleagues suggested to go for Barley Bus Tours. After reading all the reviews and checking out all the achievements of the company listed on their website, we decided to finalize the place as our place of the outing. All of us were excited to go on the brewery tour.
It was a unanimous decision to opt for the private tour. Although it was a bit overpriced, we chose to ignore the rates. We reached around midnight The tour was scheduled to start at 1 P.M. While waiting I checked out the itinerary and it included a lot of fun things including a luxury bus. We had to wait for an extra half an hour because our bus did not arrive on time. The bus finally came and we all went aboard. I was disappointed after looking at the bus from the inside as it was nothing as I thought it would. The seats made sounds when one sat on it. There was dust all around and the AC did not seem to be working properly. The driver too did not seem to be experienced for the job as he frequently applied the brake which made us go off our seats. The tour guide was not too enthusiastic about his job.
On the website, it was clearly stated that there would be three stops but we stopped only at two places. Although the brewery tour was good, our guide did not seem interested in explaining some things when a colleague asked some questions. He avoided the questions and went ahead. We did have a behind the tour session as it was stated but after a few minutes, our tour guide disappeared for almost half an hour. He came back later and offered us some snacks. After eating them, I smelled them as I had a bad feeling about them and they were indeed a bit stale. Two of my colleagues had already eaten before I could warn them. They vomited out the snacks and they were made to sit down and rest as they did not seem well. Some of us chose not to drink the water provided because of what happened with the snacks.
At last, the tour ended and we were dropped off at the same place where we started our journey. Even after paying more than 60$ per person, we did not get an experience worth even half our money. The colleagues who had the snacks provided were sick for three days and they had to take SL. I would not recommend anyone to opt for Barley Bus Tours for even a simple occasion such as a weekend getaway because it is not worth spending money over.
