I have received a garnishment at my work for 1/3rd my wages for a debt that was already paid or is not mine. I had a car loan when I was married but when I divorced the debt was given to my husband. My other car loan waas paid off by FEMA when the car was smashed in a hurricane. So I have NO idea why they are hasseling me 12 years later. | Now I live in another state and can not return to the state they filed in within the 10 days required by law. What am I supposed to do. They want over $12,000.00 for a loan I know nothiing about. To make matters worse, my husband stole my identity and has built a mass of debt that is not mine! But they want my wages because he went on disability when we divorced. They can’t collect from him so now they are trying to collect from my employer. | Anybody out there got any ideas how to help me handle this issue? And all the others that come about due to the stolen identity issues I have had sunce 1999.
