I feel I’ve been taken advantage of in every way after purchasing my car from Gabriel at Bertera. I was let to believe I was required to purchase gap insurance for $895, which I did, only to find out I already had gap insurance through my provider for only $17 per year. Additionally, I was given a 12.95% APR only to learn the bank only charged me 7%….the additional 5.95% was the dealer’s markup and goes straight into their pocket….as well as the profit they made on the car, the profit they made by selling me gap insurance and the $495 they charged me as a “conveyance fee”. I feel Bertera is gouging their customers. Furthermore, they provided me a 3,000 mile warranty. While vacationing in VT last weekend I ran into an issue at 2,987 miles with the exhaust leaking very loudly at the manifold. I called to notify Bertera of the issue and that by the time I got the car back to their dealership in MA that I will have exceeded the 3,000 mile mark on the warranty. They were completely unsympathetic and said I could have the car towed (which I couldn’t afford to do) or drive it, but if I exceeded 3,000 miles on the odometer they would not cover the repair. In summary I feel that I am not valued as a customer and that I have been taken advantage of.
