Best Malta Car Hire

This company turned out to be a disappointment from the very beginning. The representative has arrived 20 minutes late. He made us sign the contract and visa pre-authorization inside of the airport. While blocking 1000 euros on our visa this person said that in case of incident he will takes the money from our visa and their insurance will pay us back. Now its clear that he already had a plan to cheat.After we went outside to see a car. It was very dirty and had different light and dark-colored scratches and spots on both sides of the car. It was very stupid of us not to take a pictures but we never had any troubles with rental car companies before so we trusted as usual. From the first day the car presented strange sounds from motor and clutch, but taking in consideration general conditions of the car we thought that was normal consequence of heavily used car. On the 13th weve left a car at the airport parking 5A at 5 PM (one hour earlier, but we called to the office and they said us that its ok) and went back to Italy. The car we left at the airport was in the same or better (cleaner) condition as when weve taken it. Yesterday weve found out that the amount of 1000 euros on our visa is still blocked and we called to Malta office to ask when they are going to unblock it. A person on the other side have told us that the car was damaged, asked us to write him an e-mail, so he can send us an invoice. Best Malta have send us an invoice for 1187 euros for presumed damage. On the pictures attached to the mail are the same scratches that was the first day weve taken a car. Obviously Best Malta Car Rental wants to take their dirty advantage upon our foolish behavior and acceptance (not refusing a car in such bad conditions, trusting a company, signing contract before seeing the car, not taking a pictures after seeing the scratches). We dont know why does you behave like a fraud.. maybe they need money and dont know better ways to make it than cheating nave tourists like us..We hope that this company will let us and our money along and just vanish from our life!
