I don’t like staying in low-cost 3-star hotels, but this time I got time off from my workplace just for a week so I decided to go on a vacation. I did some research thought about where to go and which hotel to choose, as it was a peak season where mostly hotel was full, fortunately, I booked a hotel Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina which is located in San Diego, California. They claim to have one of the best services in town and their prices are much affordable than other hotels in town, they also claim to have one of the best staff who knows how to treat their customers but lately all the claims made by Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina were unable to satisfy me because they did not deliver quality services to me and I was very disappointed with the way I was treated there. I traveled with my wife and came late to the hotel. I was tired so I got into bed as soon as I arrived. On the first night, I had to put on a sheet over one of the windows because the shutters were broken and the parking lights were a hindrance for me as I was unable to sleep and did not sleep well because I smelled an odor in the room which was very disturbing for me. In the morning I investigated a little bit and found out that someone had urinated under the mattress on the side which I slept on and it was disgusting. As I am a person who likes everything clean and neat so I went to investigate each thing before I can be comfortable in the room. I found out during my check that AC filters were filthy and a used dental pick was under the bathroom sink. This shows how hotels like Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina are keen to take responsibility, and also reflects the level of the services they have maintained. I then informed the management about the situation of my room and they told me that they would shift me to another room. I was cheated by the manager of the hotel as he told me that the second room is ready but the girl at the front desk told me that it’s not ready yet and then I had to wait another couple of hours to get in my room and end this agony. Initially, I also had a problem with the booking as I asked them to appoint me a room facing the Bay specially and specifically asked for the older section of the hotel but when I got there I was being told that there is no room available. On the whole, the experience at Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina was very horrible and I don’t wish to come back here again, and I suggest them to work on their services so that other customers do not have to go through agony.
