The Bill Luke dealership sold me a year old Jeep for $25,000.00 and an extended warranty for an additional $1600.00. The first time I tried to use the warranty, I was told it didn’t exist and had to pay for the warranty work wile they checked their records. The original salesman was still there as this work was needed 6 months after I purchased the car and he told them that I got the extended warranty. They sent me a check to cover the work I had done, It only took 6 weeks foe them to cut a check. Two years later I needed work done that was supposed to be covered by my warranty (a water pump) but they said there was no warranty on this vehicle and the original salesman was long gone by this time. I argued with them about having the warranty and they told me to show them the original paperwork on my car and they would help me. I couldn’t find the original paperwork anywhere and when I told them so, they showed me a computer printout that stated “NO WARRANTY FOR THIS VEHICLE” I got the waterpump done elsewhere. A year later I got a “recall notice” from Chrisler and made an appointment to have the recall work done. Wile it was there I had them check out the jeep as I was about 5000 miles short of 100,000 miles (my warranty was 5year/ 100,000 miles) they said Ineeded “lower controll arms and a waterpump” (didn’t need the waterpump)and being ever so hopefull had them check to see if my warranty had re-appeared. NO WARRANTY ON THIS VEHICLE. Now I was getting a little angry at this “rip-off” and went through all my stored files and I did find my original paperwork and it did say $1600. for extended warranty. I took it in to Bill Luke and they copied it and said they would let me know. Now they claim that I did have a warranty for this vehicle though it had expired as my warranty was in place a year before I purchased the car. They claimed that there was hundreds of dollars of warranty work done on my warranty and that I got my money’s worth from this warranty. The problem is all this “warranty” work was done before I purchased this car. I called and tried to resolve this problem and left messege after messege and they never called back, I would call and they wouldn’t return my calls, I finally thretened involving the BBB and now they wouldn’t even take my calls. I did write the BBB and they don’t handel Auto complaints, they turn them over to an agency called “Auto Cap” which I thought was the BBB of the auto world, it is run by the auto dealers…hmmm the fox watching the hen house… Auto cap had this complaint for several months and dosn’t do much in the way of informing you as to the status of the complaint. I had the “Lower controll arms” replaced (at another shop) “lower controll” sounded critical and I didn’t want to have an accident. Having no satisfaction with Auto Cap, I wrote the Atty Gen. of AZ and 5 days later got a letter from Auto Cap stating that out og goog faith Bill Luke (DON LUKE) would split the cost of the repairs. I copied all the reciepts and sent them to Don Luke (CEO) and was waiting for my check. I got an extreamly RUDE letter from Don Luke (no check) he said sence I involved the Atty Gen. that he was retracting his offer. This place is a “Rip-off” my next car will be a Ford. It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business?
