This morning I discovered that a purchase I made with a prepaid card from a Visa Debit Gift Card was denied. I contacted the merchant, they tried again, and it was denied again. Funds are sufficient to cover this transaction. | The card insert specifically states that purchases can be made online, or in store, there were no restrictions and the merchant is a well known vendor, so there is no reason for this denial. | I tried to call the number on the card, and each time, I received a message stating the system was being serviced and the call was immediately discharged. There were no live operators to talk to, no one to ask about why this is a continued problem. I have never had a problem with Visa Vanilla Gift Cards when making purchases with merchants. Unfortunately, those cards have been recently replaced with the new company, and many problems exist with their ability to properly credit online purchases with reputable merchants. METABANK and Blackhawk Network California, Inc. is quickly creating a track record for denying services to certain vendors, why??? | They take money deposits and clearly state on their documentation that the card can be used for exactly what I have tried to use it for. Then Metabank refuses to allow the cardholder to make valid purchases, and now, they refuse to answer their phone lines. | Avoid Metabank/Blackhawk Network California, Inc. They are intentionally blocking some vendors (as some purchases I have been able to make), it is beginning to appear that they intentionally attempting to adversely affect some vendors for competitive pricing. Beware, they appear to be attempting to manipulate the market place online. | They refuse to answer their phones when there is a problem. And, this is time I have purchased a card by this new vendor, and IF I could locate the Visa Vanilla cards, I would buy them. They were fair to everyone and I never had a problem purchasing from these competitive/reputable vendors in the past, until I bought a card operated by Metabank/Blackhawk Network California, Inc. | They are in BREACH OF THEIR CONTRACTURAL AGREEMENT TO THE CARDHOLDER.
