This was the worst experience of my life when buying a boat or rv. My wife and I went to Boat N RV in Rockwood Tn to buy a new pontoon boat and a travel trailer. After several trips, we tentatively selected a boat and a travel trailer, but told the manager David, that we had to try out the boat, first. He said “that would be fine, but he couldn’t let us do that until we did the paperwork”. We signed the paperwork but told him if we agree to buy them, we wanted the loan to be with ORNL Credit Union. It was getting late so we told him that we would be back the next day. That night my wife had chest pains and I took her to the emergency room. They admitted her and she had multiple problems with her heart, lungs. She was so bad they put her in ICU for over a week and then to a regular room for 3 weeks. I stayed with her day and night. I called the manager of boat n rv, the next day, and told about our situation and said that I would come over as soon as I could. I also said that the travel trailer, that we had selected, might be too heavy for my truck and I would like to select a lighter one. He said that would be fine, just call when your wife is better. I continued to keep him up to date with text messages. The day we came home from the hospital, I got a call from a man at boat n rv. He said we are delivering your boat and travel trailer, today. I said “no way, I want to talk with David”. He said David does not work here anymore, I am the new manager. I told him about our situation and he said that he would give me a couple of days but he was going to deliver them if I didn’t come over. I went over and a man came out and said here’s what we need to do. You need to write us a check for $5390 and we’ll deliver them to you. I said, no, our agreement was to try out the boat, and make sure the travel trailer is not too heavy for my truck, per my agreement with David. He said David is not here anymore and we want the rest of our money. You have signed the contract. I said what about our agreement? He said there is no agreement, David has been fired and they are yours. They also ignored my request to set the loan up my credit union and set it up with their financial firm. My credit union was 1.99 percent and theirs was 4.99. I had no legal choice except to take both the boat and the RV.
