Brake Team Tigard Location

I recently took my care in to Brake Team in Tigard to have my brakes checked because they squeak and grind sometimes.First of all when I called to make the appointment the guy on the phone was a total weirdo. He used a fake accent during our phone conversation. The reason I know it was fake was because it came and went. Weird.So, my husband and I took my car in and they said ” Let us do our free inspection, and we’ll see what’s going on.” They told us it would take about 30 min. or so. So, we cruised around for a little while waiting for them to call us back. Almost an hour later they called us back and preceded to tell us that basically, we’re screwed and my car isn’t safe to drive AT ALL!! The brake hose is leaking fluid on to the boot, both front brakes need to be replaced along with the calliburs(sp)? We’re looking at about $400 or so to fix it. This is definitely not then news we were expecting. I just got the car like months ago or so. It is an older model so, I do expect to have few problems here and there.We then decided not to go through with it because that just didn’t seem right. We called them and told them that we were coming back to pick up the car. They hesitated a lot. They continued trying to talk my husband into leaving it there because it’s really just not safe to drive. They asked if they could please just replace the hose for us. $60. No, we said we would just like to get the car. They didn’t like it, but did it.We then decided to take it (((competitor’s name redacted))) for a second opinion. Guess what? There’s nothing wrong. It took them five minutes. I’m also questioning this a bit, but that’s different story. We will be taking it for a third opinion. (((redacted))) said that my brake pads are about 50% and that if they’re that good, there is no reason to go any further with the inspection. I’m not 100% convinced. But, we’ll see about that later.I just have to say that we were just going to pay the $400 because they were addament about the car not being safe, but we just had a bad feeling. Man, am I sure glad we decided not too.The moral: Don’t go to Brake Team they clearly just want to rip you off. sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! – – your comments on this policy are welcome.
