My family and I planned a trip to Breakout Games –Orange beach. We made a reservation online but were not sure that the reservation went through; we went to the Breakout location to confirm the reservation. Our reservation was confirmed and we were told to arrive 15 minutes early the next day. We arrived at the location and were told we didn\’t have reservations and was told to pick another room and time slot. We explained that we had reservations for the kidnapping and that was the room we wanted. We got so sorry that the room was not available. They wanted us to pick something else, I was in a predicament! We booked a recently opened escape room in the area. Well, this one wasn’t big and the customer service was poor. We purchased the Groupon and planned to go to a room but due to lack of appropriate timing and daycare scheduling we had to reschedule for a different time yet again. The lady – Jasmine was extremely unprofessional and refused to switch us to a different time. We had to come back again after 2 days. The place is located in the Wharf; it’s small and not very clean. There was no one to help us with the waiver or to give room instructions which were another hassle. We ended up doing the \”Hostage\” room. The clues were pretty uncool and required some crazy thinking, or should I say we had to be too focused on being a math or science genius or anything like that. There was a clock in the room that wasn’t working. The person watching us could hear and see everything and would never clue us when we asked for help. This place needed a better communication system – we could hear the other people playing their games, so I wished they had walkie talkies. We couldn\’t get immediate feedback; we had to ask for clues several times before being answered. At one escape room- the tv monitor that showed the countdown also did not work as a computer screen and we could not see the written clue as well as hear them say it. We were not able to escape and time was already over. I did not like the way the clues were given. We tried the next game where we were kidnapped! This game’s concept was rather difficult. We did not escape however we did not have fun either. Again it\’s such a drawback that there was only one room that we were in the entire time versus other escape games have multiple rooms per game, also the room next to us was loud and we could hear everything which takes away from feeling immersed in your experience and is very distracting. They had 2 other rooms and after this experience, I did not want to try those. We had gone to several different escape rooms in other states and this one by far was the biggest disappointment. I would not go back or waste money.
