I rented a car at a very good price though Breezenet.com. The rental car was to be picked up at a Hertz location in the Houston area. I arrived at the appointed time to pick up my car. I was surprised to find that the location was actually an auto body shop. It turns out that the auto body shop had a self service kiosk for Hertz and the kiosk was out of order! The staff there said that there was nothing they could do–they could not rent a car to me because the kiosk was broken. In shock, I called Breezenet.com for assistance. I was told that there was nothing they could do except make a new reservation for me at the current price (almost 4 times the price I had reserved!). I explained that I was on a deadline and needed the car immediately and expected them to honor my reservation. They didn’t! I was stuck at a location in the middle of nowhere without a rental car. As an aside, I had used my credit card when making the reservation, but the card was not to be charged until the actual rental took place. I was not out the money for my rental, but I ended up out several hundred dollars when I had to make another last minute reservation elsewhere. (It was a 3 week rental). I don’t see how Breezenet.com can stay in business this way, but I hope they are out of business by the time this review is posted! They ruined my vacation, don’t let them ruin yours!
