I received a postcard in the mail RE: UNCLAIMED REWARD. I t was for a $100.00 gift card for Walmart or Target. I called the 866 number and gave them the claim code they provided me. I was told there is a $4.95 processing fee for the gift card. I told him I had no money on my Visa card right now and he said it was o.k., that he just needed to verify. He came back on the line and told me my card was declined, after I already told him there was no balance on it. He asked for another card and I told him the same thing would happen and he started YELLING at me that he needed another card number. I told him to stop yelling at me and that I no longer was interseted in talking to him. He told me that $90.00 was coming off my card and hung up in my face. I called back and spoke to another gentleman who told me that over 100 people answer their phones and that everyone was not as polite as he is. I told him his politeness had nothing to do with the fact that the guy I spoke with first has my Visa number and said he was taking money off of it. He said they don’t do any billing or taking money off of cards, yet they ask for your credit card number for the $4.95 processing fee, so that is a lie. He basically said there was nothing he could do, such as delete my Visa card number. So just beware of the “UNCLAIMED REWARD” postcard, unless you are o k with people like these having your credit card number and I will be cancelling that particular card because everytime I deal with someone who sounds like they are from Mumbai , they are trying to rip me off. These same people will call and tell you they are computer support and if you’re naive enough to give them access to your computer, they will tell you it will crash in 10 minutes unless you pay them $300.00. If you don’t give them a credit card number they WILL crash your computer (if you give them remote access over the phone) These people call my home at least twice a week but I know who they are because they crashed my cousin’s laptop because she did not know that her real security company would not telephone her. .
