11 months after first installation, had to have brake pads replaced. They would not honor there warranty, charged for the pads again, $100. Called corporate office in Schaumburg, they stated I have to email the franchisee. Patrick at Gmail account, he never responded. Sent the two invoices that show the warranty when work was performed and again 11 months later. I would never trust this organization again. They are a loose federation of mechanics as opposed to a regional franchise . They are allowed to charge whatever they want, offer different warrantee than advertised and every location is run as a separate entity. Car X is only a front for advertising the name, franchise pays a royalty fee, then franchise can offer different prices on same service, different warranty and you have to go back to the same location to have warranty work performed as they are all ran individually. Ridiculous, Car X is not a true franchise where you can have work performed at different locations as your contact info is not keep on a national server, it”s keep at each location as each location is ran as a separate business and ran separately. Have to argue for the warranty work to be covered even with a copy of the previous invoice. Same car same vin number. Buyer beware, at Car X they set different prices, offer different warranty”s and ran as completely separate business than franchisor. What a con!

Avoid any CAR – X location at any cost. You will be glad you did. They switch prices on you and want you to do things which you really don”t need. I normally don”t complaint, but the Manager at the Ballwin location, Scott, really made me angry…I will never go back to any CAR-X locations and i will tell as many people as i can NOT TO GO to this place…

I had such a bad experience, I want to post it on every website. I normally don”t get angry but the manager at this location was beyond rude. The worst part is, he”s the District Manager. I”m afraid to meet any manager higher than that, if he”s suppose to be some shining example. Anyhow, I went in because I had a coupon, so I thought I”d save some money on a simple oil change. Was told it would take 1hr 45 min, so I left my car in the morning. Late afternoon, still no call back!? So, I call to see if my car is ready…yep, just finished 5 minutes ago (yeah, right). So I pick up my car and notice my invoice says “Customer wishes to discard all old parts”…really? no one ask me (the customer). So, I ask for my old wiper blades, cause they were replaced with the oil change package. The DM says to me, “you want your old oil filter and oil back too?” WTF?! That was out of line. I didn”t appreciate the comment and found it unprofessional. Won”t be going back there.

I notice my car was acting funny Friday 12/20, it was having trouble starting after fueling and I noticed the rpm been go up a little and the car kind of hesitated at times but would go back to normal. It also had the engine light that would come on and off at times. I called that day for an appointment for Monday 12/23 at 2pm. The next day Saturday 12/21, my car wouldn”t start but just crank. I had my car towed that day to CarX. I was planning on going through my car shield but however by time car x diagnosed what they claim what the reason and already repaired it prior to getting approval and making sure it was covered. I found out car shield was not going to cover it. I was livid. However car x ( Allen) told me it was a bad battery and a purge value in the fuel that was causing the issues. They wanted to charges me 250 for a battery but I knew better so I got one at auto zone but I was responsible for the purge value at 165 since they already replaced it however he told me my car was running perfect, I can turn my car off when getting gas now, engine light it off so I was ok with it. I really thought they fixed my problem. I had a new battery installed that night on my lunch break but when I got off a few hours later . As I was driving home the car seemed to run louder then it ever did and the engine light came right back on and I still had to leave my car running to get gas. I was so pissed. In the morning, before stopping at CarX I went to auto zone to have my code read and the battery checked, my battery was good and the code read an camshaft sensor. I had that code read on Friday 12/20 at auto zone when I noticed my car acting different, same code. Anyways, I went back to CarX and comforted them about my repairs. I was told my battery was no good at that time and now we just have another new problem. [censored]. They repaired something that wasn”t even a problem. They diagnosed my car by the symptoms and did not have the code read. I told them my car is still doing the same thing that they guaranteed fixed the problem. They also told me that they checked my camshaft sensor and it was good. Lies. They said to bring it back Thursday morning 12/26. But on Christmas evening, trying to leave for work, my car would not start. It would crank but not start. The exact same problem I had in the beginning that they guaranteed they fixed. I had to have my car towed once again back there today. CarX should be responsible for my repairs and needs to fix the real problem. I should not have to pay for another repair when I just got done paying for something that wasn”t needed and was scammed. I really didn”t even want to take my car back but they should fix my car the correct way and not google doctor my car repairs. Please take care of this. This has been a horrible experience especially during the holidays. I”m out of transportation now and I have my 13 anniversary in 4 days that I need to leave out of town.

I took my car In for an air filter/blower motor inspection. I was told I needed a new air filter and that my current one was bad. I decided to purchase and install my own. Upon inspecting my own car I discovered my air filter was missing completely. They told me I needed a new one but they didn”t mention having removed my filter all together. Despite needing a new filter I don”t appreciate being stolen from without alerting me to the changes they”re making in my car. Also, when I called to ask about the situation the man who answered the call was rude to me, interrupted me over the phone while I was trying to speak and hung up on me at the end of the call. I won”t be going back.
