I purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey from
I purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey from carmax in September of 2014. Initially when I called them I spoke to a lovely sales man who quoted me a finance interest rate of 5.8%. Unfortunately I was unable to make it in that day. Finally I arrived at the dealership three days later. The car I chose was sold. The salesman explained to me these things happen. I accepted it, and chose a different car. However, when he ran my credit the second time my intrerest rate went to 21% I know thats high but I was coming in with no credit history at all. So I took on the payments thought I was getting a lovely reliable car. Well about one week after recieving the car I was driving and the car wouldn’t stop. Contacted Carmax King of Prussia they sent a tow man out . Explained to me that It was the master cyclender and that they would fix it no cost to me. Well two week later I recieve my car back the water pump goes and the car won’t stop squilling. I contact car max they send the same tow man out this time the machanic tell me the rotors need to be fixed and everything will be replaced at no cost to me. Well the dealership claim to have fixed the problem. Two weeks later I am on the highway and the annoying squilling started up again. I contact Carmax at which time I speak to a lovely representative Name Denise she explains to me that I need to bring the car in to the dealership to see what else is wrong with the car. I drop it off to the dealership one week later I recieve the car back only to have the car stutter start. After the second time the car catches on I precede to my home. Now we are in October I am on the highway and my wheel starts to shake a little bit and I pay it no attention.I contact the dealership they explain to me that sometime with new rotors that cars need to readjust. About a week later I am sitting in my jobs parking lot and the car doesn’t turn on. I call my husband he told me to wait a minute at which time he informed me to put the car in neutral and to turn the key. H e explained to me that the car on its website has been experiencing many starting problem due to the WIN box not reading the electrical system. The next day I contact Denise with the situation she informs me if car does it again to bring the car in well no the problem occurred doesn’t occur again within the month. So now it’s the middle of Novemeber oil change and the squilling of the brakes come back, the wheel is shaking at excellerated speed when on the highway. I bring the car in to them at which time my oil is changed and I am informed that something was bent between the brake and the pad. Master Mechnaic stated to Denise east fix. I pick up the car heading back home pick up excelleration the wheel is still shimming and the brakes ar squiling. I contact Kyle a repair representative. He kindly informs me to bring the car in. I bring it to Car Max King of Prussia complaining of the safety of the vehicle at which ime I am informed that I will not be able to get a loaner due to how many times I have brought the car back for repairs. I got a little heated and demanded to speak to a master mechanic at which time he and I went on the highway and the wheel shimming started again. We returned to the dealership at which time he reported to the manager that what I was reporting was a safety issue. Carmax provided me with a loaner However after having my car for 6 days I was informed that my rotors had to be replace again the dealer claims due to harsh driving. How about I know my rotor never were replaced the first time, and howabout that 30day fix policy is a scam they sent it through the claims department the first time they claim to have fixed my brakes THIS SERVICE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE ON THE HOUSE THE FIRST 30 DAYS. PLEASE DONOT BUY A CAR THROUGH CARMAX THEY DONOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. I haven’t had my car for 90 days and had to take the car back to them more than 6xs. Oh the head bangers is now they want me to pay for the rotors and brakes that they claim to have fixed in September, and October.
I am a college student and I
I am a college student and I work full time. I saved my money up to buy my first car and I chosed to go to Carmax. As a result my car has been in the shop almost every month since I had it. I bought it in 2013. The car shakes, cuts off, has had 4 spark plug issues, constant electrical problems and suspension problems. Everytime I take it in it’s a two or three day process only to have the same thing happen over and over again. The warranty I paid $3k for is useless and on causes me more inconvenience. I almost lost my job and failed out of school because of attendance. All the while Carmax gives me the constant runaround and I make my payment ontime.
September of 2013 , I was in
September of 2013 , I was in the market for a newer truck. I found myself @ carmax located on Jefferson avenue in Newport news Virginia’s on a Sunday afternoon. The salesman explained that he was on a salary to in some way make him seem less than pushy. I opted to test drive a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 . Blue in color, 4 doors and from what I could see , the body looked straight and clean. I am not an auto body expert ,but I specifically ask 4 times if this vehicle had ever been involved in any accidents , to wit I was told no. This was a lie. The truck has been hit on the right rear so hard it has twisted the cab and all the cheap paint and bondo in the world can not hide bad body work from the trained eye of an auto body repairman , as a result of some careless moron backing into my tailgate. Scott, my body repairman was able to confirm what I had suspected. The bed and rear bumper was filled heavily with bodyfiller and thea tailgate was from a junkyard. The cab is twisted enough to see the gasket starting to peel out and the drivers door has always made alot of noise when closing. Let mereiterate , if I had not been lied to , I would not have purchased this truck. It is my opinion that infact Carmax on Jefferson Ave. in Newport News Virginia omitted this information intentionally and provided false and misleading tactic . If anyone at Carmax would like to discuss this with me personally, I welcome the opportunity . You can meet me at the repair facility where the work was performed or I can bring it in. Either way, this posting isn’t coming down until somebody addresses this in person, and I mean face to face.

Ok first I must say that at
Ok first I must say that at one time I was a happy Carmax customer…. That being said Not anymore!! It all started about 5 weeks ago after being hit by a drunk driver. My 6 month old new to me Hyundia Genesis was a total lost…, the first car I’ve ever had that I truly loved! So after listening to my friendly Carmax salesman Don I was talked into buying a Gap policy….Thank God I did! So far all is well right??? Well after going to buy a replacement twin car I found at Carmax I was told I would need to take a higher interest rate or Wait for my car to pay off… As I have two car payments with carmax finance already..plus a $24,000 car with only 6 months of payments they were asking for a car to be traded. So this is where I turn from happy carmax customer to crazy mad customer!!!! The insurance of the drunk driver (Alstate) agreed to pay all but $2500.00 (thanks gap!) But the check from Alstate was sent to Carmax Finanice and for some strange reason returned to Alstate. Then a second check was mailed and cleared through Carmax Finanice. Great now my debt was down all but what gap owed…. So off to Carmax to get my car…. Wrong the 2nd check that cleared was then applied back to my account?!!! What??? Then gap still had not paid…. So today I was told gap check was mail to wrong state???? I have money being sent to pay off a debt and they keep sending checks to wrong places….. It is bad enough to know that I was hit by a drunk driver but now being punished by people who can’t do their job correctly!!!! I am still car less and Carmax makes it sound as though I have no right to be upset!! Plus when the put the pay off check back on my account from Alstate they added interest! What’s Up Carmax…Cant even call you a (buy here pay here used car lot) if you won’t take a check!

6 weeks ago I wrote a 20, 000 check for a van and before leaving, noticed water vapor in 1 headlight. The salesman said it would evaporate in a day or 2. 3 days later the headlight failed and the vapor was still there. Made an appointment and took the car in on a Wednesday. I have an appointment to get a total wrap on the car the following Wednesday, thinking 7 days was more than enough time for a headlight repair. Nothing was done to the van and it took me 4 trips and several phone calls to retrieve the van. Once the wrap was done another appointment was made for 2 22. You have had the van for 15 days over a 3 week period and it is still not done. Met with John the service manager yesterday with to no avail. He actually played me as a stupid customer who just wanted to complain. He was noncommittal as to when it would be repaired. 15 days over a 3 week period is not good service, actually it is no service at all.

About a year ago, Car Max advertised online a 2003 Land Rover for $13, 000. My wife was interested in the vehicle and we went to check it out, by the time we arrived it began to storm and we decided to talk to the sales man about the vehicle, of course we were told that another couple was interested in the Land Rover and they were supposed to arrive in approximately 2 hours. I advised the sales man I would like to test drive the vehicle but with the storm, I wanted to wait until it passed. My wife showed the sales man the online amount for $13, 000 he said it was an error but he would check to see if the manager would honor the quote. He returned and said the manager will honor the $13, 000. We told the sales man we would come back after the storm and test drive the car. An hour later we went back to test drive the car, the sales man said sorry; it was sold to the couple that was interested. After several minutes of arguing, we went to the manager who said nothing they can do. When we got home, my wife went online and the same Land Rover, model# and stock# was for sale, this time the online ad was for $15, 600.00. We called and guess what, nothing but runaround. Word of mouth is the best advertisement, and we have nothing good to say about Car Max.

After seeing another complaint re Carmax Dulles, Va, I have to add my voice as a warning to others. Before my daughter went off to grad school in August 2007, we bought her a 2001 Nissan Xterra there, having bought MANY cars previously and happily from the Carmax at Laurel, MD. I quickly learned that not all Carmax sites are the same. Three days before she had to drive hundreds of miles alone, she called the NIssan national hotline and was informed that TWO SERIOUS recalls on this vehicle had not been done. We really had to scramble to get these done at another Nissan dealership before she left. And last week, she was stranded because the battery was dead–cable problems. And what did Carmax Dulles do when I called and spoke with several “higher ups?” They sent us two $25 service certificates. As if we would ever go back! Buyers beware!

As a former employee, I can tell you their standards for the cars they buy and how they fix them up have changed drastically since 2006. It is all about the margain now and not about the cars. You however have to remember you are buying a car that is “used”. It is not going to be perfect, but the quality of how everything works is substandard to the way they used to prepare cars for sale. They are very far when it comes to buying your car because the prices come straight from the auction prices from around the USA. Good luck trying to get them to fix anything…they will just ask you to return the vehicle or trade it in.

Be very careful when buying automobiles from CarMax. I purchased my car Dec 2009 and was quite happy with the purchase in the beginning. First of all they add lots of features with gloom and doom scenarios to take the low price to a all time high. Gap insurance and a costly extended warranty took the car price so high, I am still trying to gain ground on my loan. They stripped the car of everything, the owners manual, the floor mats and had mixed matched tires on it. When I expressed my concern, they blamed it on the facility they acquired the vehicle from (another CarMax). Four to five months into ownership, I noticed the fuel gauge was fluxuating so spiratically I never knew how much fuel I really had. I took the car in for repair. They had me wait an entire day in the waiting room only to tell me at the end of the day I would have to rent a car for the weekend. It turns out the car needed a sensor and it had to be ordered. I return on Monday to pick up the car only to be told a part broke while fixing it, but my understanding is they broke a part and once again a rental car for me. Once I returned the rental this time and took my car, I didn”t even make it home before the gauge began fluxuating again, so I called the service manager who was just about to leave, I was told and I raced back over there. Here we go, a great deal of pass the customer to someone else who would never be available. I took yet another day off to bring the car in again. I would eventually take a whole week of days off and never was this issue resolved. But back to taking another day off, I brought the car in again, left it over night again and once I picked it up this time, I drove it for approximately a half an hour and with the gauge and the electronic device reading a quarter tank, the car simply stopped in the middle of the street. Of course I was livid. The car was towed back to CarMax and the service man actually saw that the gauge read a fourth tank and couldn”t understand it. They sent the car to a Ford dealership that they have a relationship with and they found nothing wrong. Go figure. I took it to my own choice of Ford dealership, but their hands were tied because since CarMax had already hit the insurance company up for repairs on this issue, they couldn”t charge for that again. As I sat in the waiting room for what was over what would be 5 shifts on the job, I heard horror stories of the incompetance of the service department of CarMax. If you buy a car from there, you better be a mechanic or have one on speed dial.

Be very careful when signing paperwork with carmax. We traded in a 2013 Chevrolet Spark with 35k miles on it for a 2014 GMC Terrain with 20k miles on it. We weren”t happy with the Terrain and contacted Carmax 2 days after the purchase. It was a Saturday. The manager told me not to worry just to come in Monday and we could give it back and get our trade back. On Monday they had “mysteriously” sent a check to pay off the spark so we would”ve had to give them the money they paid on the Spark back and give them the Terrain!! Made no sense to me. Needless to say Carmax lost a great customer. That would”ve been the 4th car we bought from them. Also get your financing from a local bank. Carmax gave us 9.9% on the Terrain when we went to our local GMC dealer we got 3.9%. Watch what you sign.

Before you buy a car from carmax read this, I bought a car from carmax in houston of the s.w. fwy on hillcroft, everything seemed fine at first. Than the problems began, the front end shakes, the brakes are no good, the biggest lemonade stand in houston is carmax, I took my car back 3 or 4 times, they never addressed my problem they kept fixing something else that I didn”t ask for, after the manager named javier said he wasn”t going to loan me another car because I was coming in to many times, I replied that if he fixed my car right I wouldn”t be coming back. I need a good car to drive my elderly mother around she is very ill and I have to take her to the doctors and dialysis, with my part time job I can”t afford to be going back and forth to carmax, I bought a car from carmax because I thought they were legit and I wouldn”t have any problems wrong, i”m almost finished paying off this piece a crap that i”m stuck with, when it”s all paid off I will end up with a 25, 000 dollar car that isn”t worth it, just the other day I rear ended a truck because my brakes don”t work they don”t stop you they slow you down, thank goodness my mother wasn”t with me, I finally gave up washing and cleaning my car who wants to keep cleaning a piece of crap, now I can”t afford to buy another car this one drained me. I part time job at night so I take care of my mother in the day. Not feeling good about it, thanks carmax, to tell you the truth every time I get in that car, I don”t feel like driving it especially with my mother in my car, every time I stop the whole front end shakes, not a nice car for the money and for carmax, I don”t even go out in my what a shame I only drive to work for me and to the doctors for my mother

Bought a Dodge pick up truck, on 5th day A/C stopped working. I brought truck directly from work in to service nd was considering turning it back in on their 5 day return policy. Agent in Service department stated needed an appointment to bring it in and it would still be under warranty in a week when they could offer me an appointent. Couldn”t get an appointment until a week later and had to drive in 97 degree temperatures four hours a day back and forth to work for a week with no A/C. Took it into service and they disassembled the vehicle at 8:30 am on a Friday then told us they had 8 more hours of work on it at 2:00pm same day. At 4:00pm went back to Carmax to get my GPS I had left in vehicle and it was just sitting on lot disassembled, for how long who knows. I was told it they would be closed all weekend and could not fix it until Monday now today Monday still not fixed and they state they do not offer courtesy cars unless we bought an extended warranty at purchase. So here we are Monday and the Manager says he doesn”t know when it will be ready and they don”t do customer service compensation for the inconvience of having to pay for a rental car for now four days. If he gets a loaner in over the next couple days he will call. I suggested a free oil change, anything? He was adament no compensation. I am researching lemon laws in GA now. No customer service and Quality inspection is a Joke. I will be calling and writing to Corporate then if still no result I am betting the law is on my side.

Bought a truck on Jan 20, 2011. 4 days later, tie rods replaced and alignment needed. One week later rear axle leak. All supposedly checked during 125 point CQI inspection. Service mngr tells me they actually don’t check everything unless technician feels the need. How do you check tie rods or alignment without lifting vehicle up or putting on alignment machine? Had these things been done, they also would have noticed rear axle leak. Talked to Service manager and he tells me I aggrevated the axle leak by towing a 1000 lb trailer 3 miles. Called Customer no service. No help. Will be talking to attorney next STAY AWAY FROM CARMAX !!

Bought a used vehicle there in February. Within 3 weeks, I had it back in for a brake service because the brakes were making a metal-on-metal sound. They “fixed” them and sent me on my way. Within a week, I am hearing the noise again, and decide that I should go to an Acura dealership. Long story short, the front brakes (which were the ones they worked on) were non-Acura, and so were not fitting properly. Also, the Acura dealership said that Carmax bent (ruined) 2 screws in the braking component because they tried to put it on with the wrong tool. To make matters worse, they told me that my back brakes had 1 mm left on them, and that ALL of my fluids (brake, transmission, etc) were dirty and didn”t look like they had ever been replaced. Beware of Carmax”s “quality inspection.” They apparently just make sure the car runs well enough to make it off the lot. Oh, and while my car was in service with Carmax, they scratched my leather dashboard!

Bought an 08 Cadillac CTS last Tuesday. Should have caught on when a “tire pressure light” went on-brought it back the same day and they fixed it. Just to stay sane, I brought the car to my mechanic. He found a mouse nest in the engine (I kid you not about these issues), found that the key fob did not work regularly, found that the ac compressor was leaking, and found a suspension bracket “seperating.” Also told me he couldn’t believe they would sell it to me with the tires in the dry rot, worn shape they were in. Brought it to carmax to deal with issues. Carmax agreed about the mouse nest, agreed about the key fob, agreed about the suspension issue, found that the power steering pump was leaking onto the ac compressor. Those issues were covered by manufacturers warranty, and they had no problem getting it fixed. Told me that the tires were up to their specs. I told them that there specs were unacceptable and returned the car. I understand the concept of caveat emptor, but I had really hoped carmax was different. I immediately went to a cadillac dealer and bought a certified cadillac the same day. I will never step on their lot again and will make sure I tell everybody I know about the terrible experience. If you EVER buy a car from carmax, which I strongly recommend avoiding, make sure to bring it to your own mechanic.
CarMax Business Services Reviews & Complaints
Buying a car from carmax was the worst of all my car purchasing experiences. I came in January 5, 2008 and purchased a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We did a held-check for $6000 and financed the rest. The salesmen, Eric, didn”t seem very familiar with the ins and outs of finalizing a sale. He had to ask his sales manager almost step by step as he took my insurance information and did my held check. Once we finished paperwork and all of that, we walked out to get our new car that, according to Eric, would be “detailed” while we were finishing up papers. I even made the comment of “wow, detailed in 45 minutes…that”s awesome!” He told me then that there were several guys that tackled it to get it done. The car was ran through the automatic carwash and the floors had been vacuumed. The inside windows and interior were smudged and it was obvious the car had not been detailed, nor even thoroughly cleaned. I figured if that was the best they could do, oh well, I was just excited and didn”t want to wait around nor seem picky, although looking back I should have. Eric never made a follow-up call after he claimed he would. The real trouble began on January 8, when I went to give the title of my totaled car to the insurance company and they handed me an affidavit to give to the license bureau for proof of value of the old car. I called the business office at Carmax and told them that I wanted to self-register because I wouldn”t have to pay so much sales tax and wanted my money back at time of registering. They said that was fine. Around January 10, I received a call stating that the inspection they had performed on the car had expired and they would need me to go get it inspected at my cost, or drive 25 miles (one-way) to Carmax and they would perform one free of charge. Due to my busy schedule with work and school, I was unable to return the call immediately, but when I did on 14th, we couldn”t make a quick appointment that worked out for both me and the service department. Keep in mind Carmax is thirty minutes out of my daily routine and that is one way. Meanwhile, we had begun to notice a few things that were bothering us about the car. First of all, it vibrated very noticeably while stopped at a stop-light. If you were to put it in neutral, it would quit. Second, there was a noise coming from the front passenger wheel area–it sounded like a bad strut. Also, the car was out of alignment. I also noted on my letter to the service department that I would like for them to “detail” it as they said they were going to in the first place and had not done. I finally arranged to drop the car off on the evening of Thursday, January 24 because I couldn”t afford to wait around for all of these things. I left a note with a list of things wrong and also a copy of my insurance card and tax receipt because they said EVEN THOUGH I was going to self-register, they needed those things when they took the information to the DMV for me. Saturday, January 26, since all the things wrong with the Jeep would take a while, I came and got a loaner. I was very pleased with the fact that they loaned me another Jeep and I must say Teri, in the service department was a very good communicator, she called when she said she was going to, she kept me up on the service that was performed and she was very understanding when it was time for me to pick my Jeep up on January 31st and I had the flu and had to wait a day and a half later. Since Carmax was supposed to be performing the inspection for the registration, I had called the last week of January to see what DMV they would be sending my papers to. On January 30, someone told me that they thought the paperwork had been sent to the KC DMV at 13th and Cherry. When I asked why, they said they try to get it to the one closest to the customer. The girl I talked to asked if I wanted her to call KC DMV and make sure the papers were there. She did and got no answer, so she asked me if I wanted to just keep trying myself. I told her that NO, so she said she would keep trying and call me back. No one ever called. So, when I picked the car up on February 2nd, I asked where my paperwork was. The girl told me Lee”s Summit. I said okay and we were on our way home. Since it was Saturday, I couldn”t do anything about it. So, we got in our dirty Jeep with brush marks from the carwash and left. As soon as my husband pressed on the brakes, a sound like metal on metal came. By this time, I am still sick with the flu and have no desire to mess with your company anymore that day. About 15 minutes later, I called and talked to Brandon and told him that Lee”s Summit was really way out of my way. He said to call on Monday, that the papers weren”t in Lee”s Summit, they were at the KC location, and he would let me know for sure. I called on Monday, February 4–the day my temp tags expired. Brandon told me that the papers WERE at Lee”s Summit and he was going to go get them THAT DAY and he would Fed-Ex them to the location of my choice, which was Gladstone. I called the Gladstone location twice on Tuesday and they said they had not received my papers yet. I called Brandon, who THEN put me on hold to check the tracking number on the Fed-Ex package. After a few minutes he got back on and asked why I had wanted to self-register and I told him that I had an affidavit that stated the value of my totaled vehicle and it was going to save me almost $500 at the time of registering. Well, he told me that APPARENTLY the license bureau had gone ahead and registered the car for me instead of letting me self-register. He said that I could just take all the stuff to the license bureau and put in for a refund. So, I just went and got the tags and paperwork and went to the bureau where the woman told me HAD I registered myself with the affidavit, I would have just received the refund then. Why didn”t we deal with this at the time of signing the papers. Eric new that my old car was totaled and it was worth $6000. Now that you have read this novel, you can begin to see what a time-consuming inconvenience this whole experience with Carmax has been—aside my dealing with Teri. I am going to make a copy of this letter and start with mailing it to the GM of the Independence Carmax. I hope something can be arranged to reimburse me for all the time and inconvenience that I have experienced.

Car Max Inglewood CA, and Riverside CA are not trust worthy when it comes to auto repairs, I purchased in a cashiere check a 2004 Infinity FX for $21, 737.92. I had taken the car in for concerns I had on the brakes and was told they only neeed to be lubrcated, the noise got worse when I would stop and squeek, I took it to a location closer to avoid driving 70 miles.I was told to take it car back to the location I purchased it from because they did not want to be responsible for the other CAR MAX who sold m the car.

Carmax advertises a 125 point inspection on all cars they sell. This is a deceptive and fraudulent advertising claim tha tis not worth the paper it is written on. I recently purcashed a car from them that had to have $1455 worth of service work that their 125 point inspection should have caught and they should have done the serivce work as they advertise. Buyer beware if you shop at Carmax

CarMax Colorado Springs ripped me off. My 05 dodge 1500 is great except for one flaw. The right fromt brake assembly makes noise. Enough noise to turn heads at stops. Returned to CarMax and invoice stated that the rotors were turned. Drove out of shop and the brakes still made noise and had a heavy vibration. Pulled over and looked at the rotors and they were still glossy and smooth. No indication of turning the rotors. Returned to the dealership the next day and was told that it was my driving. No answer when they were told that the brakes were only making nosie on one side. Management defended the service writer by saying he was an award winning performer. NOT! He gets my award for biggest bull…er.

Carmax does not allow pre-purchase inspection of their vehicles. Once you pay your money and drive off the lot, do NOT expect quality customer care as a follow up to your purchase. After having purchased a high end luxury vehicle from Carmax and taking it to a luxury brand specialist for a post-purchase inspection, I discovered a few minor issues. I promptly scheduled an appointment with Carmax to address and fix those issues. They would not take in my vehicle until the 5th day after purchase. (You will have 5 calendar days to address mechanical issues and return the vehicle). Instead of replacing rear brake pads and rotors which were deemed to be “very low” by the luxury brand specialist, Carmax simply told me that they were fine in their opinion. Instead of ordering the $185 missing undercarriage panel, Carmax said they wanted me to come in and point out what was missing. How would I know? Instead of addressing the driver side door which would not close properly, Carmax said it seemed to be due to a puffy inner door seal. Bottom line: Carmax will take your money and run with it, leaving you to diagnose and fix any issues with the vehicle yourself. I had even purchased the highest level of extended warranty, which did no good as it did not cover the said repair. The sales manager spoke down to me and argued with me for a half hour about why I was wrong to ask for a little consideration and quality customer service. I spoke to a service tech, the service manager, the sales manager, a business office associate, an operations manager, 3 customer care rep’s in the corporate office, the CEO’s secretary. No one would connect me to the local branch’s general manager or to the company CEO. Why? Because no one of real power wants to hear of how shoddy their employees treat their “valued” customers. The repair I requested would cost, in their opinion, “a couple hundred dollars”. If Carmax won’t absorb a “couple hundred dollars” to satisfy a customer, aggravates a situation by arguing with the customer, does not return phone calls as promised, then they do not deserve a good reputation. The public and the shareholders have a right to know how dismissive and disrespectful the staff is.

CarMax is horrible, horrible, horrible! They lied to me and treated me very rudely. Recently, my 5-year old truck broke down. It needed major engine repair. Instead of fixing it, I decided to sell it and buy a newer truck. I called CarMax and spoke to a salesman. I told him that my truck was not running. I explained the mechanical problems in detail. He said that it was not a problem. He said I would get less money for the trade-in, since it was not running, but that “we are definately still interested in buying it.” His exact words. I made an appointment to have my truck appraised. I paid to have the truck towed from the repair shop to CarMax. When I got there the salesman was nowhere to be found. I was “greeted” by a very grouchy woman who seemed annoyed with life in general and me in particular. I was made to wait about 40 minutes past my “appointment” time before a salesman even talked to me. There were no other customers so I don”t know what took so long. After the appraisal, the salesman informed me they would offer me $50 for my truck. That is correct. Fifty dollars. For a 5-year old truck that is perfect except for the engine problem that can be fixed for a few hundred dollars. I saw similar trucks for sale on their lot for $6000 and up. Some even older than mine. Needless to say, I was outraged. I was expecting at least $500 to $1000 for the trade in. I tried to tell the salesman how ridiculous the offer of $50 was and he got angry and practically yelled at me. I did not sell my truck to them or buy a new one from them. I do not recommend CarMax to anyone. They were rude, grouchy and they outright lied to me. A complete waste of time and money.

Carmax is not all it’s cracked up to be. I barely escaped being ripped off by them, as I returned a car I bought but hardly even got to drive. My salesman was genuinely nice at first, helping me with the transfer of a car from another state. The car had been a rental, so I was a little sceptic, but they assured me the car was in great condition accept for a dent in the door and tear in the seat, which would be fixed at their cars go through a “125 point inspection”. Well, they didn’t fix it. I went to see the car and there was so much *** wrong with it, but they assured me it could all be fixed. It was only physical flaws and it was used, so I told myself to get over it and decided to go ahead and buy the car. As soon as I left the lot, the brake light went out. The CD player stopped working 2 days later, and I took the car back to have everything fixed. What was supposed to be a two-days-tops repair, turned in to over 7? They continuously lied to me about doing the repairs, and kept changing what they were actually working on and when it would be done. No one could give me a straight answer on the day it would be finished. The day I finally was able to pick the car up, they got finished right at closing. They pulled it out into the service bay with overspray over the entire car, having just painted over the fender where they had fixed the dent. I then proceeded to tell them off, screaming why the [censored] hadn’t been finished before then, and what the *** it took so long to do if they just finished with it that day. I did get my transfer fee back, the only good thing that came out of it. And the fact that I found the same exact car for about $5, 000 less than theirs through a private party. Plus, the private party knew someone who bought a car through Carmax and was ripped off too!!! I forgot to mention that they also ran my transfer fee through my bank account 3 times!!! They blamed this on a computer crash, but I should have known then to take my business elsewhere. Carmax is a joke. They have a bunch of [censored] salesmen, with idiotic managers, and a worthless service department who don’t know *** about cars. There was no way I wanted that car bad enough to go through with the sale after being treated the way I was, no one even saying they were sorry. And to top it all off, the [censored]s don’t even know I still am in their rental car they gave me while they were working on mine!!! What a bunch of idiots. And the store I’m referring to is the one in Indianapolis, Indiana, but the store that originally had the car was in Fayetteville, North Carolina. They’re all a bunch of [censored]es to me, either way.

Carmax is one of the worst dealerships I have ever been in. They have sales men who know nothing about car or anything that has to do with cars I would seriously rate the deal -10. They seem to want to hire sale people who know nothing about cars the company wouldn”t hire me with all my expertise and know because Carmanx is a racist company. Carmax have sales people who don”t even know if a car is front wheel drive or back wheel drive. I mean how could a Honda accord be a back wheel drive car, thats impossible. I have been there several times to see if another sales person knows anything but every time I am there it seem like I am going there to get all the wrong information more and more and they wouldn”t hire some who know a lot about cars. And they have cars that are more that over priced. I am very happy that I did not purchase a car from them or work for them after reading all the negative reviews.

Carmax started out with a vision to change the way cars were sold and repaired. Company motos like ” Happy associate make happy customers and happy customers make happy stock holders” and ” accept no defect, create no defect, pass on no defect” were words to live by. Now under new management and reacting to a poor economy, Carmax has resorted to the same cost cutting tactics that give all used car lots bad reputations. Quality used cars are a thing of the past at carmax. Please do not expect to get the best quality used vehicle. Do not expect to get a fair price for your trade in. Shop around to major new car dealerships for your next used car. With all of the dealerships building cerified used cars these days, the products they are producing are of a much higher standard then Carmax vehicles. Parts used during the recon process with be OEM vs cheapest part available. Corporate america has destroyed an upstart company that had the potential to be something special.

Carmax took 5 months to send me my title – only after I phoned We were approaching the payoff date for our van so I phoned Carmax to confirm the payoff amount and the expected time frame in which we could expect our title. At the beginning of June I spoke with a nice woman named Ruth at Carmax. She told me the pay off amount, updated our address, and assured me that our title would arrive 4 weeks after our last payment. We made our final payment and waited…and waited…and waited. As things go, I got busy and assumed that my spouse had received the title and filed it away. Then recently (November) I was looking through our van file folder and noticed that we had not yet received our title. I phoned Carmax and went through the phone menu, found out that we had indeed paid off the van, and that the title had not yet been mailed to us! It was explained as an “oversight, ” as the customer service rep chuckled. I told her it was nothing to laugh about – what if I had wanted to sell the van? What poor customer service! She promised the title would arrive in 7 days. We’ll see if they can get their act straight this time. I prefer to purchase my cars from individuals and this experience with Carmax reinforces my reasons for avoiding purchasing vehicles from used car dealers.

Disclaimer: I was laid off in April 2009 and anyone else that has been knows that when you lose your job your credit goes with it. After 6 trips to the dealership trying to obtain financing, paying $200 to have a vehicle shipped & submitting all required paperwork, I was approved for financing on 1/31/11. I was working for a tax office (temporarily as I do every year) making $150/day before taxes, 6 days a week. THEY WERE MORE THAN AWARE THAT I WAS A FULL-TIME TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE THERE. My initial salesperson was an *** cluster### named Chas Keithan. He was working a 2 weeks notice & had no problem telling me so. The person that ultimately sold me the vehicle, after hours might I add, was Steve Young (decent guy). On 2/9/11, Bill Stevenson (the rude, *** sales manager) called me to advise that my financing was not approved & I needed to return the vehicle. From the date of purchase to the day I received this call, I had taken the vehicle back twice for minor repairs & no one said a word. The very same day I received a job offer making 40k/year and had an offer letter as proof. I explained this to Bill the ***, faxed him a copy of the letter, along with proof that I had already purchased a tag & insurance for the vehicle. APPARENTLY, I wanted the car if I paid $200 to have it sent to me. He rudely told me I had to bring the car back anyway. I paid a $3000 down payment by the way. I said fine & asked when I would get my down payment back. His response was that he was not sure. CarMax took the down payment money from my account less than 12 hours after I wrote the check (the money was gone when I woke up on 2/1/11 & remember I wrote the check at about 10 pm) so I had a problem with the I don’t know ***. After many attempts to work out a deal with CarMax to avoid returning a car I loved & not having a way to a job I JUST STARTED (on 2/21/11) I said I would return the car if (AND ONLY IF), they returned my down payment just as fast as they took it from me. The general manager Oscar Kummerlowe began calling me at this point to work out a deal. The terms were to bring the car back, get a loaner car, & they would run my financing again when I received my first paycheck (on 2/28/11). I agreed IF AND ONLY IF, he would give me the agreement in writing. He would not so I refused to take the car back. Someone named Sharon from the corporate office, alongwith other CarMax employees kept calling me asking when I would bring the car back. Not once did anyone call to try & help me or even make the sale. All these vultures wanted was their car back. CarMax sent a letter to my home FedEx demanding the car back or they would repossess it & threatened to report to the credit bureaus on me. I got an attorney. After CarMax received the letter from my attorney, they called me on 3/11/11 to advise that they had cash in the store & would give me my money back in cash if I bring the car back that day. Luckily, by that date, I had already obtained financing at another dealership for a better car, better terms, a lower payment, AND I picked this vehicle up on the same day. I returned their piece of *** car, got my money back and drove into the sunset in my new car. My problem is this.. Why wasn’t financing cleared before I left on 1/31? Why was I told initially I would have to wait 10 days to get my money back? Why wouldn’t they give me the terms about the loaner agreement in writing? Why was the solution so simple after I got an attorney? But you know what? It all worked out in MY favor. I will scream to the blue skies to NEVER deal with CarMax. I won’t.

During the first week the car (2008 Hyundai Accent sedan) we bought from Carmax developed a ticking noise. We were concerned and brought it back, because – according th Carmax’s advertising – you can return it during that first week. The service manager told my husband it was the fly wheel on the AC compressor going bad, no big deal. So my husband unwisely chose to keep the vehicle and didn’t demand that it be fixed immediately. I pointed out to him that it has a 30-day fix-it guarantee and we took it back in – sadly, too late to just tell the keep the car and give us back our money – they’re now telling us it’s fine, just cope with the increasing noise, and bring it back when the AC has failed – after the 30 days are up, of course, so they can charge us for it.
CarMax Business Services Reviews & Complaints
For over 2 months I watched a vehicle in a Carmax office in Hickory NC. It was a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and fully loaded with only 41K miles. It was beautiful. In September, on a Thursday, I saw that it had been transferred to the Greensboro NC store. That day I called and said that I would be by first thing the following morning (Friday). I went that morning and test drove the vehicle. I even drove it to AAA and had them look at it. AAA told me that the rotors were no good and the back tires looked bad. So when we (myself and the sales representative) got back to the store, these things were, again, addressed. The sales rep told me that they would take the vehicle back to the service department and have them put it on the lift and take a look at it. Within 30 minutes, they supposedly lifted the vehicle, looked at it and had “fixed” the rotors (keep in mind, I didn”t know that they actually fixed the rotors at this time, since they did not tell me). The tires, they said, were perfectly fine and was within “State requirements”. While we were waiting for paperwork and other stuff, my original sales rep had to leave and we ended up with a different sales rep. While with this new sales rep, the tire issue was brought up. During this debate, a manager came over and said that we should go look at the vehicle together. He looked at the tires and said that indeed they were within “State requirements”. So at this point, we decided to not get the vehicle since they did not want to work with us on the tire issue. During that weekend, my husband and I talked it over and decided that we were not going to let a “good vehicle” go because of tires. We figured that we would just buy new ones within the year. So on Monday (3 days later), we went back to Carmax. While we were driving there, I called to make sure the vehicle was still there. At first they told me it was sold. Then when we showed up at the store, they told me they found the vehicle. So at this time, we”re doing the paperwork and went to look at the vehicle again. During inspecting the vehicle, we noticed that the two back tires were going flat, especially the passenger one. The sales rep (a 3rd different one) said that they would get that “fixed”. So we did the paperwork and then took the vehicle off the lot. On Wednesday (5 days after the first day I drove it), I went back to Carmax to drop off papers. During this time, I had them fill up the tires again. I also spoke with the original sales rep, who informed me then that they actually fixed the rotors and that after we had returned the vehicle back to the lot, they had to put air in the tires. I told him that this was strange because it meant that Friday the tires needed air, Monday the tires needed air, and now Wednesday the tires needed air. I was told at this point, that the problem was probably a result of them taking off the tires to fix the rotors. So not being a vehicle technician, I believed them and drove the vehicle home. Now a couple of days go by, and on Thursday we go by Carmax because again, my tires are going flat. The tires air pressure was at 15 and it”s suppose to be 35. So they tell me then to bring it back the following morning, only when I explained how it”s only been 1 1/2 weeks since we bought it and this was the 4th time filling up the tires. So Friday morning at 7:45, I went back to Carmax. I sat there for over 3 hours, until someone finally came to me and said that they would have to give me a loaner vehicle because the parts would not be in until Monday. Then they tell me that all four tires are going to be fixed. Not to mention that they also found a brake line that was backed up with fluid and it needed to be replaced. So not only did I have a problem with one thing, but now I had a new problem which was actually serious! And the problems with my tires; three had a licking valve stem, three had erosion on the sides, one had a hole in it from a nail (which was the back passenger tire) and one of the tires had erosion on the outside. Keep in mind, they supposedly replaced the front tires with new ones before we bought it. So I asked the Service Manager why did this happen and how could it set in the Hickory lot for over 2 months and no one notice this? I also asked who does the 127 point Inspection? I get told that he would take care of it and that he would speak to someone in Charlotte NC. So while they are getting my loaner car ready, I went to speak to the manager. The Sales Manager that was on the floor was a complete idiot. I started to tell him what my problem was and before I could address any real concerns, I was directly passed back to the Service Manager, since “it wasn”t a sales problem” anymore. I told him that I had already spoke with the Service manager, I wanted to speak to the Manager and he did not understand why I would want to bring anything to his attention. I told him that I did not understand how it was seen by his own employees that there was a problem and no one addressed it. He then asks me “well you”re getting your problem fixed, aren”t you?” That was the answer, “well you”re getting your problem fixed, aren”t you?” But yet, they are going to give me the “we stand by our 127 point inspection” bull. So I asked who does the inspection and the Sales Manager tells me that he doesn”t even know anything about my vehicle but he”s sure that it will get taken care of and that he”s been there for 8 1/2 years. Once I get the spill of how long he”s been there and how he”s going to call the Hickory NC office, I knew that he was going to pass the buck. So after this I drove off in my loaner vehicle. At home, I called the Hickory NC office to see if they had spoken to anyone about my issue and guess what? NOPE they had not. I explained what happened and they said that someone else does their “120 point inspection” and that without my “Stock Number” they couldn”t look up anything. So that phone call was a waste of my time. So I remembered that the Service Manager was going to call Charlotte, so I figured I would attempt this. I call the Charlotte NC Carmax office and spoke with a Service technician. He tells me that they do not do the 120 point Inspection and that I need to call the other Charlotte NC office located in Pineville. So I call the other office and speak to the Service Technician there. She tells me there that they do not have a service station at this department and have to ship their vehicles to the other Charlotte office (the first office that I called). She also gave me some important information. She said that the so-called 120 Point Inspection should have been done in the Hickory NC office (but remember, they ship their vehicles off to another place too) and that once the vehicle was transferred to Greensboro NC Office, they would do an inspection too. She also gave me the Corporate Office number (Customer Relations) [protected]. She also understood my problem and said that she understood that the tires are getting fixed but agreed that it is the point. The point that someone did NOT do their job in the first place. So I called the 800 number and she gets my information. She tells me that they are going to investigate the issue but wanted to make sure that the problem got fixed. I told her that I should have known better since I read the reviews about the Greensboro NC Carmax, and her comment was “yeah but at least most of those people”s problems got fixed”. I asked her about a guarantee that this problem would not happen again, especially when they were just patching up my tires and not putting new ones on. She never mentioned anything about a guarantee, instead just asked if the Greensboro office was fixing my problem. I again, stated to her, yes that they are fixing my vehicle but where is my guarantee that this won”t happen again and that it”s the point. The point of my problem is that someone did not do their job!!! My point is that we saw a problem in the first place and they refused to fix it. My point is that if they had never taken the time (the forth time) to look at my vehicle, I would have never known about the Brake line being messed up. My point is that not only did one place not do their wonderful 120 Point Inspection but another place did not do an inspection either! My point is that by someone not doing their job, it could have caused us to have an accident. My point is that it”s not just my life that could have been in an accident, but my 9 year old son, my 2 year old daughter, my 2 month old baby boy and my husband. These people don”t give a ###. All they”re worried about is a sell. The worst part about the whole thing is that I mentioned this to everyone in the beginning. And I was nice!! I never once yelled, I never cussed at them, I never got pushy, I never did anything to cause an issue to where they needed to be mean back. I was so nice to them and they still did not give a ###. Being nice to them did not pay at all. So after all this, I called the NC Department of Transportation office who gave me the Greensboro D.M.V. office number. Here I can file a complaint towards the Service department. I don”t know if anything will get done with any of this, but I hope that someone takes the time to listen. Carmax is not a good store! They do not take care of you like you think. Trust me, I did not believe the reviews either! I thought that it was just unfortunate mishaps that I wouldn”t get, but I”m now the one sitting here writing a review for myself. Avoid Carmax, it”s not worth it!!!

Found a car I wanted at CarMax. Did the research. Applied for financing over the phone to make sure it’d go through before I drove the hour to the suburbs to visit the car. Financing went through, or so the salesman said. Spent three hours at the dealer sealing the deal. Got the car I wanted, traded in my old one, all was great! Or so I thought. For four days I was singing their praises. And on the fifth day, god created anger, when I received a call from their business office saying my loan had been denied & I had to find new financing or return the car within 24 hours. Excuse me? Who gives out keys to a vehicle without an assured loan? Couldn’t they have asked me to fax in paperwork & then call when things were final? Basically, they MISLED me to think my loan had been approved & for five days, I drove around in my dream car thinking everything was fine. Then they tell me it’s NOT fine? I was driving around with an unassured loan? I had ZERO idea it was not final. I am DEVASTATED. Husband & I are having to apply for financing elsewhere, then drive back to suburbs (an hour’s drive; & gas right now is $4/gallon) to fix this problem? Ridiculous. I hate this company.

Good afternoon. I would like to find out how to submit a story about my awful experience with Carmax, in an effort to warn potential buyers of what may happen. On April 17, 2012 I purchased a 2009 Volkswagen CC Sport with 35, 000 miles on it for $21, 000.00. I test drove the vehicle and was pleased with how the car handled and found no issues with the car at that time. I was excited about purchasing the car, and agreed to let Carmax arrang the financing through Santander Bank. Within the first 45 days of owning the vehicle my newly acquired 2009 Volkswagen CC Sport which was carmax QUALITY certified shut off on me while driving to work, home from work, and on the way home from picking my father up from Dulles International Airport. Each time I was left stranded for approxamately one hour. The last time the vehicle shut off on me while driving, a few lights came on my dashboard (check engine, and ECV). I started to research online what these lights mean and found a open bulletin issued by Volkswagen for a faulty throttle sensor which could cause the car to shut off while driving. I then proceded to take my Volkswagen into the Carmax service department and explained what had happened and they agrred to repair the vehicle at no cost to me even though I was already past the initial 30 day period of owning the vehicle. When I finally got my Volkswagen back 5 days later I was told the throttle sensor was replaced and a ECV valve was replaced by Lindsay Volkswagen of Sterling Virginia. For the next nine months my car worked like a charm and I did not have any issues until Monday February 11, 2013 when things went down hill in a hurry. On my way to work Monday February 11, 2012, during a sleet storm, my drivers side window got stuck in the open position. At the same time my passenger door window got stuck in the closed position and my check engine light came on. I took my Volkswagen back into Carmax in Sterling Virginia to have the repairs made. Again, my Volkswagen was sent to Lindsay VW of Sterling to have the repairs completed. Two weeks later my Volkswagen was repaired and the motors were replaced in both windows. Carmax stated the reason the check engine light came on was due to a low battery and they replaced the battery. Thankfully, I purchased the Max Care plan so the total repairs cost me ony $468.00. As I was driving away from Carmax I noticed my check engine light was still on, so I turned around and spoke the service representitive that was cordinating the repairs on my car and told her my check engine light was still on. She promptly pulled my service records up on her computer and saw that Lindsay VW still needed to program my car. This time Carmax provided me a loaner car to use while over the next three days my car was over at Lindsay VW in Sterling Virginia. To make matters even worse, the loaner car I was provided was a 2011 Ford Fusion which was fine but the service technician only gave me a Valet key which did not have the remote keyless entry capabilities. So when I got home and realized I had to go to the store I was not able to get into the car. I called Carmax that evening around 8:30 PM and spoke with a Manager and was told the only way they could help me is if I took a cab into work and they would bring me the remote keyless entry key to me the following morning at work. That wouldn”t have been a problem, except I live in Brunswick Maryland and work in Leeesburg Virginia, and the cab fare would have been more than they were willing to reimburse me. I finally was able to crawl through the trunk and unlock my drivers side door later that night. I will say Carmax did still make the effort and did deliver the remote keyless entry key to me at work the following morning as they agreed. When my car was ready to be picked up I drove all the way to Carmax again. This time, as I was getting into my car, I noticed my drivers side door would not close properly. It felt like it was hitting something prior to the door closing. Unfortunately, I had to wait a while to get my car and I was on my lunch my break, so I did not have time to talk to them again at that point in time. So, on my way home from work that same day I planned on calling them and schedulling another service appointment to fix my door. Well sure enough, my check engine light came on again so I had to call and get my car back in the service department to have the repairs made. That same night, as I was picking up my kids from daycare, the drivers side rear door seal completely fell off the car. I took the car back into Carmax the following morning. I was given a loaner car while my car was sent over to Lindsay Volkswagen of Sterling to have the car repaired again. Another week went by until the repairs were complete and was told this time that one of my fuel injectors were faulty and needed to be replaced as well as one of my Spark plugs. Since my car”s manufacturer warrenty was expired the Carmax service plan I purchased would only cover the faulty injector and Spark plug instead of doing the logical thing and replacing all of the injectors and spark plugs. At this poin, t the service manager, Scott Boymel, promised to have the remaining injectors replaced if something else were to occur. One week later, again on my way home from work, my check engine light came back on again. So I took the car back into the Sterling Virginia Carmax service department where again they provided a loaner while they sent my Volkswagen back to Lindsay VW of Sterling Virginia to have the repairs completed. When I picked my car up my car a few days later I was told this time a coil needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, on the same day I picked up my car from Carmax my check engine light came on again. The next day I took my car back into Carmax in Sterling Virginia to have the repairs complete by Lindsay Volkwagen again. This time my car was out of commision for 4 days and I was told that the other injector and spark plug was faulty, but again only the faulty injector and spark plug would be replaced since it was too expensive to have the remaing injector and spark plugs replaced. But Scott Boymel, the Service Manager, stated he would write a letter to me stating that Carmax would cover the cost in the future if any of the other injectors or spark plugs would need to be replaced (which I still do not have). At this point, I decided to write a letter to the CEO of Carmax about my experience with my Volkswagen that I purchased from Carmax. In my letter I explained to the CEO all the issues I expeirenced with my vehicle, even though it has passed the 150 point QUALITY Carmax inspection. Two weeks later I recieved a call from Mrs. Apple in the executive relations department and was told that ultimately the Sterling Virginia Carmax Management team would be responsible with for resolving the problems with my car. About two days later after speaking with Mrs. Apple from Carmax I recieved a call from Scott Boymel the Service Manager stating that Carmax will offer a resolution and buy my car back from me but at $19, 000.00 which is $2, 000.00 less than what I paid for the car. Keep in mind my car, within 11 months of purchasing the vehicle, has been in the service departments at Carmax and at Lindsay VW in Sterling Virginia for more than 30 days cummalitively. I took it one step further and reached out to the General Manager, Jerry Holloway, at Lindsay Volkswagen in Sterling and was told that he would help me out and get rid of this Lemon that Carmax sold me. Unfortunately Mr. Holloways idea of helping me out was selling me a new VW CC Sport R line edition and adding the negative equity onto the loan for the new CC Sport R Line. At this point in time as I write to you, my 2009 Volkwagen CC is back in to be repaired with Carmax and Lindsay VW of Sterling and neither Carmax or the Volkswagen manufacturer is willing to do anything to help me to get out of this lemon. To make matters worse I spoke with my lender and they are willing to negotiate with Carmax about eliminating the negative equity on my current loan but Santander Consumer bank is only willing to negotiate with Carmax. Unfortunately Carmax is unwilling to contact Santander Bank to negotiate with Santander Bank, even though Carmax facilitated the loan with Santander. The moral of the story is buyer beware and dont expect Carmax, Santander Bank, or Volkwagen to be socially responsible and stand by the products they advertise!!!

Had many, many attempts to have rear window with defogger replaced on my 2013 Chevy Suburban by original location where we bought the vehicle. They gave us two weeks to bring it back for repairs if needed. We reported it within warranty two week timeframe over the phone. We explained our schedule would put us over the timeframe. The agent said, “no problem.” We took it in when we had scheduled and repairs said it was over the warranty timeframe, even after explaining our situation. They refused to fix it without payment. We called again to attempt to have them fix it and the same thing happened. We spoke to a different location who said they would fix it. “Repair” done at alternate location. After a year and a half, same element connector is dangling. On closer inspection noted what appeared and smelled of chewing gum on the metal connector to heating element! It stuck for a year a year and a half. The same connector fell, same side of heating element. Can we challenge them at this point? Probably too late.

Hello all would be used car buyers. I wanted to pass on a FYI for you about Carmax. You see I used to work for this company as a manager, so I know how they go about reconditioning their cars. First their “quality 150” point check is a joke. How can you check all of the major systems on a car from bumper to bumper in a mater of minutes. They use teams of mechanics who rely on each other doing the job before them properly. Its what we use to call a production line system. That would be fine if there were any type of supervision on these teams, but there is not. There was a running joke at the store that the night production team was too involved in racing the golf carts or playing football in the shop that all the cars produced at night were our “crap cars”. Who cares those cars our associates would not buy…so what. Well here we have it now Carmax is going to a new production system. Now Carmax is going to be “reconditioning” your used quality vehicle that was suppose to have a “150 point” check in a matter minutes 15 minutes to be exact. Wow now thats a car that I want my family in on the road. Hey how about this…they buy junk cars at auctions and repair them to their “standards”. Look at their show room floor that “never sell” car that was repaired is a typical car that we reconditioned at the store. Do you know how many cars have some type of damage that was painted, repaired, etc. Thats why we had a body shop on site…go figure. So do yourself a favor and stay away from these scam artists…yes I do not work for them any longer. Its not the way to treat customers.

Hello, I purchased a 2009 Chevy Tahoe from Carmax in May 2017. My truck was then totaled in Dec.20, 2017. I only had it for 7 months. My insurance paid $20189.96. I informed Carmax finance the day of the accident and told them that the truck was in an accident and I think its a total loss. The insurance adjuster confirmed on Dec.22, 2017 it was a loss. After about three weeks a check was sent to Carmax. They received the money and still say I owe a principal balance of $1357.04. I feel I do not owe that I have paid every car payment except for December 2017. The total payments I made is $2758.80 and they are not considering early pay off which that would be exactly what it is. In total, my loan was $22, 249.86 after you add the check from my insurance and what I have already paid it comes to 22, 948.76. They already made a profit of $698.90. You have your money and its paid so please remove me the late payment phone calls and take this loan off my credit. I have received several phone calls and I tell them every time the truck is gone it”s totaled.

Helped my daughter by her 1st car in Feb., 2008 from carmax. We bought a 2001 Saturn, a very nice clean car and red like my daughter wanted. Thinking that with Carmax and their 125 point inspection, we were getting a car that was dependable and trust worthy. Boy were we soon to find out that was a big joke. Had car for a few months and started having minor problems. Cigarette lighter dead, water leak and transmission starting to slip and engine smoking and using oil badly. Took car into shop at carmax on the southwest freeway here in houston. It took over a month to get the car repaired half a$$ed. They replaced only half the parts needed for a major overhaul, Like replaced the exhaust valve stem seals but not the intake seals. Replaced only the piston rings, but no where does the repair list show any gaskets, main seals, cam bearings, etc… With me being a former mechanic, when you have that much damage you rebuild motor or replace with a rebuilt motor. They replaced waterpump not once but twice, cause 1st one was wrong they said. Then the transmission was rebuilt with only a few parts replaced, not a full rebuild as needed. When trannie slips its a complete overhaul. Had car back one week, and back to shop again, Smoking again, loosing water and trannie acting up again. Again car is in shop for about a month. And this time they say its only a sensor or 2 is the problem. We get car back again, this time full tank of gas gone, brakes making noise. Which I replaced front and rear brake pads and rear wheel cylinders and rotors. Test drive car and low and behold its smoking again, blue smoke and water leaking again. Back to shop at carmax again, Still haven’t fixed problem, and I get told take it to Saturn Dealer and we will reimburse you the 75 dollar for the warranty. I haven’t even got their stupid warranty company still to reimburse me for the rental car I got the first time around. Car now smokes, gas mileage has gone from upper 20’s to low 30’s to maybe low 10’s. Water still leaks and a car that is not dependable for my daughter to drive and not worth making car payments on. All carmax says basically oh well, we can buy back but be less than you owe and still have to pay off balance. Carmax is a rip off in my book!

Hydraulic clutch defective at purchase. Subsequent repair lasted 5 months, 4500 miles, under warranty period. Tow to Kearney Mesa, San Diego location restored pressure in clutch. After test drive and glance at car under carriage, technicians declared sound. Clearly a loss of pressure indicates looming issues, but repair department is refusing further tests. All requests for a copy of repair invoice and warranty are ignored. My attorney is now seeking copies. Email to [protected]@gmail.com

I almost got ripped off by Carmax of Plano. They offered me 6500 for my 2005 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner SR5. Told me that they could only get that if they bought or sold it. Well I found on the Carmax site a 2005 strip model PreRunner for 12, 998. I complained to the corporate office in Virgina, and when I went back to the site the car had been removed? Well I kept a copy of the site knowing they may do that. I wouldn”t buy a thing from these people. It looks like they are corrupt all the way to the top. I am extremely distraught right now. My husband and I bought our vehicles from Carmax 3 years ago and were told all about the company”s wonderful ethics, dedication to customers, etc. and that Carmax will buy your car (that you bought from Carmax) back for a great price. We are moving to England and have to sell our car. Trusting that Carmax would give us a fair deal, we go to them. First, my husband”s car, a 2002 Ford Taurus in excellent condition. The Kelly Blue Book value is between $5000 and $7000. They offer him $5000. He is disappointed, but it was just a little under the KBB value for his particular car, so he took the offer. It really hurt because he still owed $5349 on the car, so had to pay them when selling them his car. We were consoled by the fact that my car would make some money. My car is a 2002 black Ford Escort ZX2 premium in great condition, with 29K miles, and all the options (automatic, sunroof, automatic, leather seats, ABS, etc.). The Kelly Blue Book value is between $[protected] and my husband predicts we”ll get $6200. They “appraise” the car and tell us what a great car it is, how it”s the perfect car for Carmax to buy, particularly with the low mileage, and then offer $4000!!! My mouth gaped open and I explained how we were expecting a lot more since the car was worth more. An “appraiser” was brought in and eventually concurred with me that we would get “at least $6000” for the car “on the streets, ” but that Carmax”s first offer is final and that they do not negotiate. I owe $4700 on the car. So, we were expecting to make a few thousand dollars and ended up being screwed out of a thousand. I literally spent the day bawling because I don”t want to get rid of my car and feel so incredibly helpless and taken advantage of. They know we are moving overseas tomorrow and that we don”t have another choice. As an addition, we both bought the extended warranties on the cars, but when my husband brought his car in with a simple problem, they refused to fix it and only tried to temporarily stop the problem from happening. I caution everybody to stay away from Carmax and feel stupid for having listened to their story about being fair, honest, and reasonable. Admitting the car is worth at least $6000 and then offering $4000 is a slap in the face. I will NEVER go to Carmax again and will caution all my friends, family, acquaintances, and coworkers about their unethical predatory business practices.

I bought a 2004 Honda CR-V in October of 2007. Until August of this year, everything was fine. Then, the A/C stopped putting out cold air. Since I was under extended Carmax warranty, I went to Carmax-authorized repair facility. While looking at initial problem, they discovered rear tires were both down to last layer of tread and front ball joint spindle was getting ready to go. First of all, there”s no way those three things should have worn out in 10 months, and there”s no way any of them should have been missed during Carmax”s inspection process. This is where the fun began. Apparently, Carmax had, a few years ago, switched from decent parts suppliers to lowest-common-denominator ones, and the only supplier for their Honda parts was in San Diego, CA (3, 000 miles away from me!). My repair shop called to order the parts–when they finally came in, the ball joint spindle came without bearings in it (which is stupid, since it doesn”t WORK without them). The bearings then had to be ordered, and the supplier told my repair people to go screw themselves (in much worse language, which I won”t repeat here), and that they didn”t need anything from them, and knew what was needed. They then sent the bearings to the wrong address, and when the repair people finally got them, they were the wrong size and type. They re-ordered AGAIN, and it wasn”t until 4 1/2 weeks later that I finally got my car completely fixed and back in my hands. All during this process, I called Carmax multiple times and was told everything was covered in full (including rental), and not to worry about it. Then, my repair people would call THE SAME DAY and get the complete opposite story. It finally took a dozen-and-a-half calls between me and the repair shop to get straight answers, finally culminating in a heated call that I made from the repair place (with the manager sitting next to me) to give these people a piece of my mind and get things settled. As of Sept. 8th (after starting Aug. 6th), I thought I was done, and everything that needed to be covered was done. However, I just got a call from the repair place today (Oct. 3) telling me that they show me as having an outstanding balance of $125 for rentals that I was told by Carmax was paid in full on Sept. 8. Carmax used to be a quality facility with great used cars (my dad boght 2 vehicles from them, and never had problems), but ever since they switched suppliers and cut back on staff, they have become the biggest hassle, which no customer should have to endure.

I bought a 2005 Audi S4 from the LAX location 4 weeks ago. After a week I noticed an odd noise coming from the steering on full lock. Call up CarMax and they say take it to any Audi dealer (I’m in SF) and they will fix it, CarMax will pay. Nope! My car has been at Audi for 2.5 weeks while CarMax pass me from one person to the other, don’t return calls and generally try and bury their head in the sand. Even the “Executive help team” can’t get the *** store manager to call me back! AVOID THESE MUPPETS AT ALL COSTS!

I bought a 2006 Pacifica in 2009; I also bought their Maxcare Extended Warranty. The car has shut off without warning >20 times. It has been taken into CarMax and the Chrysler Dealers; numerous times, “repairs” have been made. Yet the car continues to shut off without warning. Furthermore, CarMax has stated they cannot recreate the problem so the car is fine. I”m afraid for my safety, the safety of my family and the safety of others driving around me. CarMax”s response is there is nothing they can do but they will buy my car back for less than 1/2 of what I paid for it and less than what is still owed on the car, and for me to buy another car from them. I mean they”ve got to be kidding me!! The Maxcare Extended Warranty is still in effect but it seems like CarMax is trying to ignore me as long as they can until the warranty expires and they no longer have to do anything. If I had the luxury of taking the car to a junk yard and buying a new one I would do it tomorrow! But here I am a hazard on the road driving this death vehicle, because it”s my only means of transportation. I have contacted a lawyer; I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Attorney General.

I bought a 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5 from the certified Toyota CarMax in Richmond, VA in the fall of 2008. The truck had only 20K miles on it, still had the factory warranty. The main reason why I decided to purchase it. They shipped it down here to the CarMax on Independence Blvd here in Charlotte for free, which I thought was nice. The day that I went to pick it up the salesperson that was going to go over the truck with me told me that when the truck got to Charlotte they noticed paint chips on the front of the hood and mirrors. So, they, CarMax sent it out to a local paint shop to have those areas repainted at no cost to me. Here”s where they, CarMax got me, the truck still had the Toyota factory warranty remaining on it, but I should have also bought the extended CarMax warranty too. I drove the truck home, about 45 minutes south of Charlotte, noticed that the front end of the truck bounced a lot more than I thought, there was a weird noise coming from the front left of the truck when I hit a ruff bump in the road. So, the very next week, I took it back to the CarMax in Charlotte, I told them what I was hearing and they said that they would take a look and see what they could come up with. An hour and a half went by and they brought my truck back out to the front of the service area and said that the front tie rod had been disconnected. They billed me at no charge and said the problem had been fixed. I drove the truck home again, the noise had gone, but the bouncing of the front end of the truck seemed to be less but still there. So, again I took it back to CarMax and had them check it out again, they found nothing wrong with the suspension. Fast forward to today, 2011, I still have the truck, I have had no one work on it except oil changes at Quick Lubes, the original factory tires, brakes and suspension are still on it, the truck now has 66K miles. Time for new tires, oil change, new brakes, etc. I shopped for all this, ended up taking it to Dale Jarrett Ford. I asked them to do all the things I mentioned, brakes, tires, oil change, plus check the front suspension. Within 15 minute they got me and took me to my truck and showed me a nickle size hole in the hose that runs from the front right strut to the X-suspension system that my 4Runner has installed on it from the factory. The suspension system had been drained, due to this hole, that it never had been working since the system is a sealed system and they was in fluid in it, hince the bouncing of the front end of the truck. CarMax could not see a nickle size hole in the suspension or do a proper bounce test on my truck during their 125+ point inspection that they say they do on every vehicle. I doubt that this so called inspection is even done or even done thoroughly even to keep you safe. Remember, when I told you that CarMax told me that they fixed my tie rod… i would not have been able to drive the vehicle for a week, let a lone a day with a disconnected tie rod, just a thought. So, if your trying to decide on buying a vehcile from CarMax, think again, if you do always purchase the extended warranty. My new suspension from Toyota cost me $1500.00, I ended up spending $2700.00 on my truck in one day. I had been at the Ford service shop from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, then drove my truck with brand new tires to the Toyota service shop at Scott Clark Toyota and was there from 3:15 pm until close. This day hurt my wallet, I was extremely pissed off about CarMax not caring about my safety and the concerns of other that would have ridden in my vehicle. Ooh, did I mention that my truck, four months after I purchased it, I was shipped off to Iraq, my truck sat in my brother garage for over a year. Still CarMax would not help in any way on the expense, they told me that normal wear could have caused this damage… I call BS…

I bought a 2008 Infiniti G37S on Friday, on Saturady the car is completely dead, does not start, doors do not unlock, trunk does not open. Called on Carmax on Saturday, said to call a tow company to bring car in and would give me a loaner. Tow company does not arrive for three hours, get to Carmax and my Sales Asssociate is too busy to see me, Sales Manager is too busy is at lunch. I go to Business Office and no one there who can help me, so I tell them I want to return the car. I ask for my down payment, and they refuse to return the check I wrote less than 18 hours ago, and say it will take 10 business days to return my money, so I have to stop payment on the check. I sign return paperwork, and, then, the sales associate and manager have time for me, but then it is too late. I was treated poorly with little concern for selling me a car for $27, 000 that does not start.

I bought last year (10/07), I’ve put 18, 000 miles on it. I needed 2 new tires (250.00) the radials were sticking out and the kicker my brakes started to squeak on Sunday so I park the car. I bring it in for new pads on Thursday (I own another car to drive) the guy tells me I need new rotors. What? 18, 000 miles he not telling the truth so I tell him to box up the old ones I want to see them. This guy is right these things are so corroded pieces are falling off into the box. I pay (324.00). I call CarMax (Greenville sc) I tell them “hey maybe somebody missed something on my inspection but my rotors are shot Chris tells me “to bring it down Monday ” I ask him please don’t waste my time just to tell me it’s wear and tare. Long story short Chris tells me “yeah that would pass CarMax inspection” are you kidding me? They really are used car sales men. I have pictures of these rotors maybe they can use them in their next commercial and see how much business they get. I’m giving corporate a chance to make it better but if not then of to BBB, the news paper the news and tons of blogging with pictures (*this is my third purchase with them 60, 000$$ in the last few years).
CarMax Business Services Reviews & Complaints
I got my car at carmax in march of this year the same month it started making a noise like it had broken axels and the transmission was slipping. I called carmax several times and left several messages for all the managers as well as service associates I work 7 days a week just about every week and they were aware and using to their advantage Because i wasn”t able to get to the dealership and I never heard anything back until a few days after the 60 days was up because the warranty through them was conveniently done. They supposedly didn”t have an open appointment till June we scheduled the appointment and asked several times if I needed to pay for them just to look at it and they said no not till the repair is done. So we brought it there and we”re told they couldn”t run diagnostics because we didn”t have money we told them that”s not what we were told by several different associates but they weren”t budging all they did was drive it around the lot then say it definitely needed some front end work to bring it back when I had the money. I got paid that Friday they took my car Tuesday night and started diagnostics Wednesday morning as a “favor” but told me that they could not even look at transmission because it wasn”t covered under my extended warranty. I didn”t get an update till Friday morning by leaving me a voicemail saying that the mount on the rear differential needed to be replaced so they did that and there just doing a thorough diagnostics to make sure that it did solve the issue we brought it in for. Friday evening they told me to come pick up car when I arrived I asked to see the part they took out and replaced and I took a picture of it I asked if they were positive that was the issue I asked if it still makes the noise then what they said call us ASAP and bring it back and they would cover the deductible for anymore repairs because it should have been fixed I said ok. Then I asked to speak to a manager because I dodnt feel I should have had to pay any of the deductible because they sold it to me broken and the sales rep that sold it to me lied about so much! All that was available was the sales manager so I met with him and got him to agree to half the deductible so I paid $125 and they paid $125. on my way home from carmax the car started making the noise again. I called carmax right then and there and no one answered I left messages for Timothy the customer care rep in services who was handling my car and I left one for the General manager even sales rep and sales manager never got a call back. Called them all day Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and still nothing. Finally Wednesday Timothy picked up the phone and told me that the women who books the appointments left for the day but he left a note to call me in the morning to schedule the appointment but again didn”t happen! Thursday I called and was finally given another appointment but it wasn”t for another week and a half or so! I couldn”t drive my car while it was still broken or my extended warranty would have been voided so I had a car that I pay to much money for every month just so I could look at it parked in front of my house! Maybe if my car payments were $200 instead of $531.59 or if I didn”t live paycheck to paycheck or even if I caused the damage then it wouldn”t be such a big deal but my car payments aren”t low, I can barley keep my family in a apartment and off the streets and I didn”t cause any damage to the car carmax sold it to me broken! Not to mention the fact that the sales rep that took over selling me the car knew how important it was for the car I was going to buy to be safe and mechanically sound nothing major needed because my trade in needed so much work I couldn”t afford to fix it and I knew my payments were going to be ridiculous and last almost forever! So I wanted a care that wasn”t just safe and mechanically sound but that had all the bells and whistles and something I just loved, He also knew I originally wanted to wait to buy a new car till my credit was at least better but I was forced to buy sooner because my current car had gotten worse and without a car I would loose my job and Im the only income providing for my son who has autism my disabled mom and myself so I didn”t just need a reliable car for work to support my family but I needed a safe reliable car for bringing them to doctor appointments, speech, and behavioral services. He told me when the car arrived from the out of state carmax they did their own 125 point check again and that included a whole head to toe up on the lift thorough inspection and that everything passed including passing by being mechanically sounds, he also lied and told me the extended warranty I bought was bumper to bumper and it definitely is not! He completely ripped me off and scammed me by breaking the law! When it was time to bring the car back we dropped it off on a Tuesday night this is the 2nd to last week of June at this point, Wednesday morning Anthony the person that replaced Timothy as my service rep for which I wasn”t given an explanation for called me and said that the tech that pulled it out of the garage after the repair they did weeks ago that the problem was not fixed and that they told me to bring it to Mazda because the repairs are covered under the power train warranty. So I asked what the car needed and he told me he doesn”t exactly know I asked if you don”t even know what”s wrong with it then how do you know it”s covered? The power train warranty covers the transmission and engine and anything to do with the operation of either so you have to have an idea of what the issue is if you can say it”s definitely covered but he insisted he didn”t know. I told him if it turns out to not be covered then they were taking back the car and repairing it free of charge because that”s the agreement Timothy made he acted as if he didn”t here what I said and asked why I brought it back to them when I was told it had to go to Mazda. I Was never told it needed to be brought to Mazda or that it was covered under the power train warranty until Anthony told me after we dropped the car off to carmax for a 3rd time to be repaired, I was promised what they replaced was the issue period! Anthony got off the phone with me and called Mazda when he called me back I couldn”t answer he left a message basically saying if the work needed isn”t covered through Mazda and if the issues are coming from the repair they just did then they would cover the deductible but if it was something new then I had to cover it I called him back and said that it wasn”t a new problem it”s the same problem I brought it in for that you guys said you fixed so there for you guys are liable for the deductible he said well if it comes to that we can handle it when we get there. He said he could bring it to Mazda because I was at work I asked when they would even look at it and he said he asked them and they actually said they could fit it in that morning, I told him he could bring it he told me he would give them all my info and they would call me when they got the car. My car was at Mazda for 4 days and I hadn”t heard anything so I called them Anthony never told them it was my car never gave them my info they were under the impression that this was one of carmax fleet cars!!! And he never talked to them about fitting it in the same day or even the same week he lied again just to be able to wash their hands of me! John at Mazda was and is very nice they got my car that same week in June but weren”t able to even look at it till 1-2 weeks later now we”re in July! John called about the 2nd week in July to tell me my car needed a new transmission and transfer case but unfortunately all 2013 Mazda CX-9 need new transmissions and transfer case at about 30, 000 miles so the parts were on national back order so he couldn”t even give me a time frame to when I would be back in my car but he could tell me that he has proof carmax sold me a lemon! At this point I”m very annoyed! And every person at carmax was avoiding me or telling people to tell me there not available to the point that I had to call out of work to go down there and demand to talk to a manager. The general manager joe was the only one available so I met with him I explained what was going on and how they sold me a car that was against the lemon law and that they need to not just give me a loaner but pay my car payments for every month I didn”t have and continue to not have I should not have to choose between paying my rent or paying my car payment when I don”t even have the car! And that”s my reality right now! I was promised I was being sold a safe sound car and I wasn”t! Once I told him how much my payments were he got me in a loaner very quickly and promised a refund for the bs repair they did. The loaner was for a week he said hopefully I”ll have my car by the end of the week but if not to go back and he would extend it and have that refund for me…the middle of the week came and Mazda had given me a time frame of another month and that I should file a complaint with the DMV dealers and complaints as well as get ahold of someone at carmax who could make this right so I tried that. I called a million times and either got sent to voicemail told no one was available to help me at the time or just hung up on the only department that would answer for me was sales. So I let loose on them and they said they were going to transfer me to the service manager Julius, shockingly he didn”t answer his phone! I left him a message about what was going on how angry I was and how unprofessional they were. I waited 3 days and he never called me back! Very unprofessional! The week for the loaner was up so I had to go extend it anyway I figured I would meet with joe again and ask for the contact info for the head manager but joe wasn”t there Julius was. He sat with me in his office and asked how he could help me I told him about what”s been going on and that I left him a message and he cut me off by saying oh yes I heard about you joe went above and beyond to help you he shouldn”t have given you that loaner because we”re not liable for your cars repairs Mazda is so they need to give you a courtesy car. He proceeded to tell me that there”s no reason Mazda can”t give me back my car so I can drive it till the parts come in I explained how there was only 3, 000 miles left on the power train warranty driving it till the parts came would exceed my warranty plus my extended warranty will be void if I drive it while it”s still broken. He said I don”t know who told you that but there wrong we do it all the time. I said Mazda and the place my extended warranty is through told me but he just continued to tell me I was wrong. He said he was going to call mazda so we could pick my car up because he wasn”t giving me another loaner, I told him he could call but the answer is going to be no. He called Mazda and sure enough I was right they told him my transmission was shot the gears were all chewed up, so he told them they needed to provide a car for me John said he would talk to his manager when he got back and let them know. I was in the waiting room for 2 hours when Julius came out and got me and said that Mazda is trying to locate the service manager to get me a courtesy car and he would let me know when he called back. Another hour went by still nothing after another 20 min I went to talk to Julius myself but he decided to sneak out of work early and just leave me sitting there stranded!!! Anthony took over trying to get Mazda to give me a car but when he called he was told they didn”t have any courtesy cars right now and that carmax needed to provide me a loaner, bye the car back from me, or give me another car of equal value because they broke the law by selling it to me In the first place and carmax refused but he put me in another loaner for a week however he told me that I needed to go to Mazda and do everything I can to get a car from Mazda because carmax will not be giving me another loaner it”s not their responsibility it”s mazdas. By the end of the week Mazda did have a car for me so I brought carmax back their loaner. While I was there I asked again to meet with a manager and was told they all went home for the day even though I could see Julius in his office! But I had to leave I”ve still to this day been trying to get this situation rectified it”s now September 9th I still don”t have my car. This is the 3rd month I”ve been without my car that I just got in march! In fact John from Mazda called two days ago and said that the transmission and transfer case are complete and running smooth but when they test drove it they found another problem. He said the whole rear differential needs to be replaced and the good thing is it”s covered under the power train warranty the bad thing is the availability date for the parts is to be determined so we again have no time frame to get my car back! Plus carmax replaced the mount of the rear differential so number one they saw the whole thing was shot and didn”t say anything and number two they knew it was covered under the power train warranty so they should never have touched it! They only did so to get paid I know how it works the more the find wrong and fix on your car the more they get paid! The problem is I have a message stating that if anything is covered under my power train warranty then Mazda would take over they would not repair anything under the manufacturer warranty! They owe me my deductible, and so far 4 months of car payments and more to come! Or instead of more to come then the four months of car payments I had to pay even though I didn”t have my car because of you guys and I car of equal value that”s not breaking the lemon law! I have been trying extremely hard to be nice about this and to be calm about this and most importantly I”ve been trying to get carmax to work with me to make it right without my lawyer but it”s not happening and it”s getting more and more apparent that I will have to bring him in! And the people at east haven carmax refuse to correct their illegal wrongs! The CT state lemon law states if your sold a vehicle that is not safe or mechanically sound then the dealer has to buy it back or give you another of equal value. It also says if the vehicle is brought to the dealership 3 times and the issue is still not fixed and or you have been without your vehicle for more then 10 business days then the warranty from the dealership is still valid which means carmax is breaking the law till I”m given another car of equal value and no issues! Trust me if this goes to court I will win carmax broke the law period! It”s a pretty open and shut case!
