I recently recovered from a massive accident which changed my facial structure and some of the teeth were also broken. So I decided to get myself a dental implant so that I could look better when I smile and talk to people. After a lot of research, I decided to get appointed to Cedar Rapids Smile Centre.
My appointment was made over a phone call and I was called upon the next day. It was a few minutes of wait inside the clinic when the dentist called me in. I told him about the tragic incident that took place a few months ago, instead of showing sympathy to me he started making fun my facial structure and called me a joker, these words hurt my sentiment that I was pissed off at just the beginning. The dentist didn’t have good behavior towards his patient. Then he cross-examines me and told me that I didn’t have healthy gums and adequate bones to support the implant, therefore, I would have to undergo a bone graft so that my implant could be properly supported. He then again found out another problem and suggested me to have a sinus lift. He fixed my appointment with an oral surgeon for the next day.
I went up to the oral surgeon but he checked out the gap between my gums and suggested me not to do a sinus lift because my gums were already lifted upwards, it will be a total waste of money and time if I do this. I was annoyed by the dentist of the Cedar Rapids Smile Center and complained to him about suggesting me the wrong treatments. He didn’t even apologize for it and told me to sit so that he could finally proceed with my dental implant. I was about to have an Endosteal implant which is also a type of root form implants. There were small screws which were going to be attached with my original gums but the doctor was unable to find out the perfect size of the screw required for the implant and it took him an hour to do so when he finally took out the screw. I looked at them and as they were made up of iron and steel, I found a bit of rust in it. I immediately informed the doctor to take a look and change the screw. If I wouldn’t have noticed the screw would have been fixed with my jaw no sooner.
This clearly shows the carelessness of the doctor and the most important thing was that he didn’t even apologize for his mistakes and gave excuses saying that he has a lot of burden and small mistakes like these happen. The surgery was very expensive, more than I ever thought, because of the additional treatments suggested by him.
I would be highly obliged if you find a better dentist for your treatment because it’s a matter of living and the dentist’s in the Cedar Rapids Smile Centre are not at all concerned about it.
