I hired Chris William to do some odd jobs on the kitchen makeover project I had started. We agreed on price of 150.00 to install 3 upper cabinets, 3 lower, a water line to the refrigerater, install a microwave oven vent top with he electric outlet. Estimated time t complete this task was 4 to 5 hours. He canceled twice (kids didn’t have school, project took longer than expected) and finally arrived the third time (but an hour late). He works really slow and likes to chat more than work but he seemed to be doing a good job. He installed two upper cabinets, the outlet and the microwave top. THAT was all he got done in 6 hours!! He took several breaks and made an excuse to run to Lowes once. He also received seeral telephone calls during this time frame. I had to get to work so I was getting ready while he was finishing up with the promise he would return to finish the job the next day. He even said he would leave some of his tools behind so he did not have to tote them back and forth. Fine with me. He ask to be paid 100.00 that day which sadly I agreed to (thinking he may need the money for gas etc). Oddly, no tools were left when I came out and I immediatly noticed a LARGE scratch on the microwave. I called him as he was just pulling out of the driveway to tell him that is not acceptable. I said the scratch appears to be 7-8 inches long. Chris replied, mam it is abut 12 inches long! He said it came like that?! I said why did you not imemediately point it out if you saw it to which he had not real reply. He said he errored and would get it replaced and install another tomorrow. Well tommorrow never came, never came back out. He started in the beginning to make stupid excuses then he just stopped calling. He is a liar. He KNEW he was not coming back or he would have left the tools. He also would have pointed out the scratch (in my opinion) if he had not have done it. DO NOT HIRE this man, he i well mannered but may just be a professional scammer! I have read a couple other reports of loss to others so I wanted to be sure and share mine in hopes of saving someone else from the stress. Honest good workers are really a rare breed.
