Foster advertized a 1969 El Camino on E Bay for sale. I sent him an e-mail with my interest to purchase, given the discreption of the vehicle he posted. Through e-mails, text messages, phone calls, of which I have copies. I decided to purchase the vehicle. I wired funds to Robert Foster,s bank, and car was shipped to me. Upon receiving the El Camino, I discovered his discription of the vehicle was all false. He posted on E Bay Recent Frame off restoration: This was not a recent frame off restoration. Big Boy Stroker crate engine racing motor over 600 HP. He was pretty sure it was a 496 cubic in motor: I ran the engine block numbers, It’s a 1967 / 327 /2 bolt main 210 HP that came out of a Camaro. Engine Code 3914678 Suffix Code ME 496 Stroker engine complete cost around 10k. Engine I received 327 can be purchased in any junk yard for less than $500. It has had work done to it, but not anywhere near 600 HP. Reason I bought car, was for the big engine. Carburator advertized was a Holley Double pumper. I received a Dual inlet Holley. Big differance ! At this time, car is not legal on the street. 4 Headlights. only 2 work. Rear end has no lights at all. just lenses. No usable wiring. no turn signals, brake lights etc. Foster will not return any calls, e-mails or text messages. I paid 10k to much for this car. Buyers need to be aware of this guy.
