Short and sweet. That was the positive feeling after signing up for a travel club membership that would “allow me to vacation with my family all over the world”. The membership would save me thousands, it would make the impossible possible for me, it would allow us what was previously not possible. Sounded amazing. Then, the same day as we returned from our week long vacation in Florida I started checking out what I would’ve been left with if I was a normal traveler without my exclusive membership. I actually found that if you plan your trip, did a little research and preparation that you could save as much or more without being an “exclusive” member. So the very next day after making it back to our cold gloomy home in NY I decided that I don’t need to pay thousands and thousands of dollars (just to have the membership) plus the cost of my vacation. I wrote a very professional request for cancelation, included all materials that they gave me in the seminar (aka:scam- which I went to after I was promised a free vacation in Florida for attending) and copies of my deposit transaction. I was contacted by one of their reps offering me a substantial savings that I declined. Now, I am being told they never received a cancelation request, they only contacted me as a courtesy to offer me savings and now that I declined that offer, I will be charged the original agreed amount and will not be allowed to cancel (as they only give you 3 days). Do yourself a favor and DO NOT ATTEND THEIR SEMINAR, IF YOU DO THEN MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE SELLING YOU. They are selling you a service of little value. You can save the same money or more if you spend a little time doing your research and planning your vacation. If I am not able to get a refund, I will contact an attorney because paying $1000 for a lawyer will save me over $6000 if I stay with the scam of a membership with Club Newport Celebration! .
