This happened a few years back but I saw the report so I am adding my 2 cents Frank Mauthe is by any standard a con man. He took a Huge deposit (embaressed to say how much) based on a sob story about how his life took a down turn. I had seen his work and he is capable of quality carprentry and paint work, and I would be one to judge that. Once he had my money (and that is a story in itself) my boat sat and sat and sat. The paint work he did do had to be re done as it was crap. His son helped and I can say the apple fell close to the tree. After a couple of years of promises and lie after lie after lie I took legal action. It was like milking a rock. His money dissapears. Where it goes I wont say here but my guess is not so good. Anyway I was awarded a judgement and he was to pay about 10% back but he had to do it in payments as he was broke. Nothing new about that. Every single check he wrote for a payment bounced. Not just some, I mean every one! And it wasn’t a matter of saying ‘Hey how bout making this good’ I had to go to the State Attorney each and every time. They know him on a first name basis. I am embarresed to have let this trash do what he did but maybe this will help someone avoid him. .
