PANAMA CITY, Fla. – A Panama City doctor has been charged with sexual battery and arrested for the same.
Dr. Bryce Jackson, who is an Obstetrician or Gynaecologist, was arrested on Thursday morning by the Panama City Police.
According to the statement given in the news, Panama City Police took action to the report of sexual battery made during the early morning hours of November 3, 2016. When the investigation began, the female victim disclosed to the detectives that she saw Dr. Bryce Jackson in the parking lot of his office and approached him to seek help.
Explaining further, the victim said that during the same encounter with Dr. Jackson, she was sexually battered in his office, located at 1937 Harrison Avenue, in Panama City. Based on this information, the Detectives obtained a search warrant for the property, in order to obtain any physical evidence of the reported crime. The property is known as the North Florida Medical Plaza.
Jackson first appeared before a Bay County judge on Thursday. He was expected to pay a bond of $30,000. Jackson’s attorney, Waylon Graham, told WJHG/WECP in a telephonic conversation that Dr. Jackson is pleading not guilty to these baseless atrocious accusations. The doctor and his attorney both were looking forward to have their date in the court.
Jackson had also been arrested by the Panama City Police on drug charges on November 29, 2015. Police had him pull over for driving on the wrong way. On searching Jackson’s car, police found a crack cocaine on the car’s floorboard. A Bay County Sheriff’s Office K9 reported of a peculiar odor and the substance field test proved that it was cocaine indeed. Jackson was charged and arrested for cocaine possession.
However, a report set out by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement cleared Jackson of the charges of possession of a controlled substance in February of 2016. The state eventually dropped the case.
Graham termed police of being over anxious and coming to a hasty decision, in searching for drugs.
