I work in a partnership with my clients to discover where the ‘work’ of therapy needs to be applied. Through 27 years experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families in various settings I have developed an approach that involves exploring the history of one’s family of origin and how it is affecting choices in one’s present life. My theoretical leanings include family systems, cognitive behavioral, and Jungian psychotherapy. In the therapeutic space, clients can explore thoughts and feelings, learn to identify coping strategies, recognize/reframe negative thoughts, gain awareness of limiting patterns and make healthier choices.In addition to traditional talk therapy I offer Art Therapy techniques. This mode of therapy allows participants to express feelings, process issues, and explore solutions through creative media. These techniques can uncover crucial issues quicker and with more lasting results.There are many ways to address issues. Whether I am using traditional verbal therapy or art therapy techniques, I work with the client to find the most comfortable and best fit for them.
