Dr. Haridas Dasani is facing multiple rape charges. He prescribed medication in exchange for sex. The 68 year old specializes in addiction medicine. The Toledo doctor repeatedly prescribed Suboxone in June 2015, to an employee and two patients. Suboxone is a drug that eases the symptoms of withdrawal in patients. The Sylvania Township resident was charged with 28 counts of rape and 27 counts of gross sexual imposition. His office is located at Woodville Road, East Toledo. He had sex with the three women at his office, say authorities.
Robert Miller from the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office said that he believed there were other victims and that these were only the ones who came forward. He said the three victims were cooperating with the authorities on the matter. Miller is the chief of the criminal division of the office. He said that Dasani had abused his authority as a medical doctor. On November 30, agents with the FBI and State Medical Board searched the current offices of Dasani on Commerce Park Boulevard (Northwood).
His license was originally active till 2019. He was first licensed in 1976, in Ohio. He passed out from the Government Medical College at Vadodara University, India, in 1971.
