An Oklahoma City doctor named Harvey Jeckins was charged of 29 felonies for running a “pill mill” out of his office. Along with Dr. Harvey, the operator of Aria Orthopedics in OKC and six of his other employees were charged in connection with his alleged activities from his workplace.
Jenkins was blamed to prescribe medications, he also allowed his employees to prescribe medications without establishing a medical necessity.
Jenkins was rarely found in the office, he usually allowed his employees, who were not even licensed medically, to perform tests and send results, not only that he also made them prescribe medication frequently. Jenkins and his employees also allegedly accessed and stored a digital signature from another doctor to use for prescriptions without the doctor’s knowledge.
When drugs like opioids are not properly prescribed, they can be dangerous and often result in a serious circumstance for any individual. He proposed such illegal activities from his medical office and a few of his juniors also followed him in the need to make money.
Undercover agents were sent to Jenkins’ medical practice office, posing as patients. There they observed the staff practicing medicine while Jenkins was not available.
It was proved that Jenkins prescribed harmful and deadly narcotics without proper medical supervision. He has been charged for several such felonies, and he is presently behind bars.
