Recently I had been suffering from tooth decay so after referrals and suggestions from my relatives and some of my friends I tried to convince myself to go to a dentist for its cure as I was scared of going to any dentist. I did some research about a handful of dentists and found Dr. Poria Edalat to be perfect in this job.
Now I would really like to tell you the bitter truth regarding this inexperienced doctor, I wonder how he tends to have so much attitude in him as a doctor. As soon as I walked into the clinic I took a seat and was told to wait because of the patient inside who was creating issues. I was very thirsty as the climate was very humid, so I requested one of the staff members to hand me a glass of water, he didn’t listen to me at first intentionally so I asked for water again in a high voice which was almost audible to everyone out there. He then went away which I logically thought must have been to fetch me a glass of water but he never returned. At last, I had to get up and go ask the receptionist to do the needful. The staff members were not up to the mark because they never did anything instead of standing like a statue all the time. I filled up my intake form so that I could move forward to the dentist’s room after my name has been announced.
As soon as I entered the room I was greeted very coldly by Dr. Poria and I think this is because of the last patient that created some sort of issue with the doctor. A patient should always be greeted in a good manner in order to have a good impression for them(doctors). He made me sit on the chair and before I started to share my problem he went out of the clinic without even saying the reason. I was left confused sitting in the chair exploring all the instruments out there. Finally, after about 20 minutes the doctor came in and by this time he seemed to be in a hurry, so without even asking a question he ordered me to open my mouth so that he could check, he kept checking for another 10 minutes and by the time my face started hurting due to the stretch. It became unbearable after 15 minutes so I requested him to let me close my mouth, he replied in a very angry tone “for what? Just keep it open until I tell you to close”. This was very rude of him and I did not like this kind of attitude and that too from a well-known doctor.
After doing all the procedure he finally moved ahead complaining about my tooth decay. He scolded me in a very high tone that there was a cavity in almost every teeth and this needed to be filled as soon as possible and then he demanded the payment the next moment and explained to me that the expense would be charged double if I proceed with the treatment now because he was running out of time with other patients. I did not expect this behavior from a doctor as he worried more about money than his patients and was ready to do my treatment only if I pay him double the amount, making his other patients wait. This seemed more of a business than a profession to me, all together I would suggest everyone not to go to Dr. Poria Edalat for any dental check-ups because he is filled with greed and attitude.
