I have never liked dental appointments and to make up for it in my childhood, I took special care to brush and floss my teeth so that my parents never had a chance to complain or take me to the appointment by force. However, as luck would have it, I noticed a severe pain in my gums and also noticed some blood on my apple one morning as I bit into it. I simply had to make an appointment and I did so with the East Village Dental Care, assuming I was going to the very best. However, that was not the case as it turned out to be. While the initial response of the staff and the doctor were very good indeed, when it came to the actual point where my mouth was to be examined, I got the impression that the people, even the attending dentist was quite clueless about what they had to do. I told them I could experience some pain in my gums and in spite of it, they went about prodding and poking and I was in great discomfort throughout the examination. I was sure I did not have cavities and yet they insisted they had found one and tried to fix a root canal filling appointment for the very next day and were charging me immediately for it. I was on the verge of relenting considering the pain I was in but I somehow got my bearings and refused them straight away, insisting I wanted a second opinion. I was extremely put off by the entire experience and as soon I returned I had to book an appointment with another dentist and I was told that it was a minor infection which could be treated with medicines, and that my overall teeth health was also quite good.
